The number basically tells you how many bomb that square is touching. And you use all the numbers that's around to try to determine where all the mines are.
a long time ago, i worked at a mcdonalds in a... not the safest part of town... there was a certain stereotype of guys... not based on skin color, more on clothing choices and conversational patterns,,,,,, anyways some guys would carry around wads of cash with no wallet or money clip or anything, and sometimes it would be like $200-400 up to $1000 i guess, but they would always put the $100s on the outside, so it looked like way more. sometimes you'd see some one with like 1 $100 bill, a couple of 10s and a whole bunch of 1s......they'd stand in line holding their wads sometimes making sure people saw their cash. then they order off the dollar menu
Damn I miss mine sweeper but DB it's both a logic and guessing game because I did better at guessing and winning than I did using logic to back me up. 🤣

I've gone through an entire game and ended with a simple 50/50 between two blocks in the corner. Using logic can also be a trap because you can logic your way into the wrong answer and die because of it. Moral of the story, don't bet cash on a game that isn't pure skill.

It is a game of logic & deduction, unless you back yourself into a situation where there's 1 bomb with only 2 available squares - then it's a coin flip guess
@@timwcronin if you're talking about jumping in at the very beginning of the game then yes that would be 25% of overall squares. After that percentages constantly change, requiring logic to where the bombs could & couldn't be

31 bombs in 129 unknown squares and my man drops a Benji on a 50/50 chance. He played himself. Clicking randomly would've given him at least 75/25 odds. Even better if he eliminated the 50/50 squares.
AHA I SOLVED IT! Ok I paused the video before the bombs were shown to see if there was any dents in the armor. Had to give it a good look. Ok, SO!... Now if you look at the bottom of right of the screen (before the bombs are showcased) ::should look like:: flag 2 2 flag That means that one of them have to be touching a mine. It can’t be the far right box above the flag because the 2’s mentioned above would be a 3. The left 2 has to be touching at least one bomb because it’s touching any potential bombs as the right 2. So since we know that the boxes above the 2’s has to be a bomb we can eliminate the chance that Square above the right flag isn’t a bomb. Sorry I use to play minesweeper back in the day and thought that game set you up to fail. But I had to give a sharp look like “great this game does it again.... wait was there really no options though?” I deleted all the emoticons so hopefully it isn’t a problem now. If this comment gets deleted well... I’d like to know why?

The funny thing is that at 3:08 you can tell there's a free square (two spaces up from the 2 on the bottom right)
That would've led to another two clears. Then he could've used logic to get better than 50/50 odds.

Assuming you can't find better odds. Jumping into the middle of the unknown is 75/25 odds because only 25% of squares are bombs.
