- Update: Bruno passed away from illness in winter this year 2012. There is one more video of Bruno yet to be uploaded before he died. Nemo and Ruby are an inseparable pair given to the breeder where Bruno was purchased. Ringo was given away reluctantly as I could not manage on my own with the arrival of my beautiful baby girl. • Baby Girl six days old...
Bruno and others hatched in February 2008. The boys were not hand-raised and were purchased at six months old. All our Eclectus parrots including one female can talk, sing and whistle.
The parrot stretching his wing to show his feathers is Nemo. We cut along the covert feathers on both wings, leaving two primary (blue) unclipped feathers together in between the primary clipped feathers. This reduces irritation and breakage when the primary blood feathers grow out to replace the clipped feathers. The secondary (green) feathers are mostly clipped but leaving the last few unclipped. Lastly, wing clipping has varying methods and opinions. The method described here is best suited for our Eclectus parrots. Bruno's feathers are less clipped than Nemo and can go a short distance. He got a little startled when a large object was accidentally dropped.
Ringo, a Rainbow lorikeet is also in this video. Ringo is fully flighted (feathers not clipped) and he loves to play. 'luvv Ringo -- nodding nod nod'
Also, the budgies are in the background making a fuss. Budgies are wonderful first-time pet birds as it was in my case. Thanks for watching.

I love my Solomon eclectus so much, he's getting old and I fear the day he gets ill. I've had years and years of joy and amazement from loving theses critters. Love is a universal language and key to a healthy pet. I enjoyed this video a lot, thank you very much.
These parrots must be the happiest parrots in the world, having owner, friend like you...
I agree with others who admire Bruno, Nemo, and Ringo's feathers. Compared to other Eclectus's seen on youtube, your birds are as beautiful as as those in the wild. What did you feed them to keep them so beautiful and healthy? By the way, I have learned a lot about how to handle my baby Eclectus, Christopher ColumBIRD from your videos. Pulling your sleeves over your fingers when he is "bitey"; not over reacting to bites; singing nursery songs and rhymes; etc., etc., have all made a big difference with Chris! Thanks so much for sharing!
Gorgeous birds.
Sorry to hear of the loss of Bruno. :(
My fav all time parrot companion are Rainbows, I now have had three hand raised Rainbows, one girl and two boys. All have passed away saldly, my last one, Ozzie passed away three weeks ago from chewing up synthetic Kitty Litter :(
Your bird has such a cute voice!
Thanks Matthew, I hope you enjoy your eclectus friend. Best wishes
So cute to hear them talk in an English accent.

LOVE Y'ALL CAN Y'ALL WHISTLE FOR ME?
Can they live as long as Amazons with the right diet?
:-) The wings are clipped. This was shown when she had a look at the wings, and spread them out.
Their colors are astoishing lol. What a great bird! I is great to see them out of a cage and free to move in the yard! One of the better pet bird videos I've seen! Are you guys british?
Beautiful
Very nice!
LOL... you got my bird whistling!
This is my female Eclectus favourite video. I raised other parrot birds yr.s ago but went the last 5 years without any birds. She was hand fed, but I got her at 6 mos., I think her 1st owner didn't have the time and she was nippy at 1st. But at 9 mos. she's everywhere I am. I'm not sure if she would except another bird. She is so possesive. She thinks she owns me. I would love her to have a mate, but she's such a diva. Not sure she'd share.
Can they fly?
Your lorikeet is crazy ha,awesome
Why you wing clip them, they becoming chicken, not bird anymore
So they don't fly away
@@henzcarltupas328henzcarltu2 - better keep them indoors with free flight inside, not mutilating the wings. Also would help with taking away the fear that makes them bite- a lot!
@@eclecticbird2912 That really help
I could hear only your voice, you did not give any chance to the birdie to talk.....I had to turn it off....
I heard him fine, just took a little while...
How do they not fly away ?
Do you have a sanctuary there?; so many bird sounds. Eclectus always remind me of Beaker from "the Muppets"
I not sure what you mean "hely" I assume healthy. Thanks for your passing by and commenting :-)
Hi johansen2004. Thank you for comment. I'm not British, Vietnamese/Australian. Their colours are indeed amazing and bright
Hi hv u cliped their feathers??wat do u feed them?
Hello :) i have a 7 months old eclectus. I had him for 1.5 months. I don't think my eclectus is hand-raised. and yours aren't, right?
anyway, i was wondering how long did it take for you to make them tame and love you? because when i first bought mine he was terrified of me (even in the store he was like that) and now he is okay but still kinda scared. and what did you do to make them like this? thanks .
If he was not hand reared he will never be a good pet. Have plenty of band aids on hand, they hurt
Sorry for late reply MrGuppy000. I'm Vietnamese/Australian, born in Vietnam and living in Australia. Thanks for your lovely comment I hope you do own your own house and all the parrots you desire someday soon :-)
You're funny. He's a very bitey birdie. Certainly drew blood many times, he's very quick to climb up and bite where ever he could including the ears
In that case he is nowhere near tame
Those humans Like that Bird And the Bird like them
Thank you RodrogerAu. Rainbows are cheeky birdies, full of character though. Sorry to hear about Ozzie
Ringo the lorikeet could fly away, he didn't want to. The eclectus wings were clipped but Bruno didn't want to fly away either.
Such gorgeous and entertaining birds. So sorry about poor Bruno. Not meaning to be nosey, but what did your avian doctor say he had? Shame it couldn't have been treated. However, sounds like you still have quite a happy feathered family.
Any two males really. I guess birds are no exception. Thanks for your comment :-)
Ola amiga eu vim conhecer o seu Canal parabéns seu canal è um paraíso de Amor gratidão ❤️🌹
That's funny you should say I have an English accent! Thank you for your comment
😍😍😍😍
😊
Its a crime to cut the birds wings off, they are birds they suppose to fly free without human interference. Very sad 😥 😞 😢
Omg n he doesn't fly away?
Nate Bevan wings are clipped :(
i mean that when he is flying his wings the sound from then is like the sound of a helycopter
Thanks kidddahn, I'm a bit slow to answer sometimes :-)
Wow good job👌👏👏👏👏👏🐦🐦😎💋❤💋
he is a natural hely
😊😊😊❤❤
So cruel getting there wings clipped
If they're not clipped they fly away to become some predators breakfast. Then again that woman's voice, i might prefer being breakfast
No, it's not
You prefer to see it fly into a window and break his neck?
@@eunaofaloalemao995 It really is. Birds are designed to fly whenever they want to.
cutteeee
i plan on getting a eclectus and teaching it drunken sailor. (just the tune)
Hello egomaster360, thanks for clarifying. Gosh I got that completely wrong. A natural helicopter lol
