Imagine how peaceful this world could be if everyone approached other people's cultures with Sonny's sincerity. Not once did he seem arrogant or afraid. Much love.
Most people nowadays are too ethnocentric; they are in this bubble of their own society, unwilling to go out. This cultural anthropology-like fieldwork is quite mentally taxing. People like Sonny are the unsung heroes of this society, he should really be getting much more recognition than he does now.
@@niko1even I would honestly argue that the world is more open to other cultures today than during many, many instances in history. To claim that the world is more ethnocentric today when widespread heinous war crimes have been committed in the past for ethnocentric reasons says more about that person, I think.
@@Tigal I was thinking more "in relation to the times." Back then, people did not have much access to the internet, so people did not think much about other cultures in my opinion, as they did not have as much knowledge of other cultures. Ethnographic fieldwork is still a relatively new study method, and only that study method really provided insight into the lives of people living in remote regions such as indigenous tribes. Even with as much information, as we have now, which is a ton of information, people still aren't as accepting of other cultures. That's what I meant when I said "nowadays".
Always love seeing the different cultures in these videos, love seeing how everyone lives thier lives and the diversity of food that there is around the world.
I admire the level of thought & care Oro brought up at the end about how & why they eat certain foods. It’s amazing to share a glimpse & broaden the mind with different cultures. Thank you guys!
Hi Sonny from Arizona USA. Once again you've taken us to places that people live in the deep jungle of the Amazon. I thank you for sharing this part of the world with us and showing how these beautiful people are. Continue with the amazing work and stay safe. 😊
I can’t get over how much amazing footage you put together for these videos, especially of how people prepare the different kinds of food. Armadillo?? So well made 👏🏼🎉

Sonny I can't wait for you to come to Brazil someday. Here armadillo meat is illegal and hard to find too, but we season it differently with lots os spices. We have lots of exotic food too, especially in the northern part of the country. In the south you can find some comfort food like feijoada and churrasco
Great show, Sonny!! It's nice to follow you on your gastro quest around the world. You have our love and respect from Croatia!! Well done!! Keep doing good job...

This Mowgli Menu thing isn't complimenting my Sunday bacon and eggs breakfast very well. Good job on eating some of those creatures. you're a braver man than me.
In Trinidad we curry or stew the armadillo usually with heavy seasoning, hot peppers and coconut milk . This animal is called "tattoo" locally . Preparation matters. Eating that here would be absolutely enjoyable.
Armadillos are actually delicious. i grew up eating them grilled like in the video, but we will marinate it with some chimichurri in my home country in uruguay. You would know when it was done because you could pull a leg right off with your hand on the grill, ahh i really want some.
A serie in Brazil would be perfect. 60% of the Amazon rainforest is in our country and there are many Indian tribes with different languages and cultures. There is also a huge cultural difference between each region of the country, because of the way each part was colonized and the way the economy developed in each one.
Wow I didn’t know that the Peruvians living in the Amazon ate Armadillo. So interesting! My moms uncle traveled back in forth from Pampas(The highlands/Mountains) to the Amazon for business and the most he told me was that in the jungle they eat snakes. My mom tried those grubs as a kid born and raised in Perú. She ate them cooked tho. Thanks guys for such an awesome video and exotic food tour of Perú.
Next time u visit a fishing type village as gifts u should always have a big pack of sharp fishing hooks and good fishing line. Im sure it would help tremendously.

The dolphins are really hard to photograph. Good job to the cameraman. By the time they pop up and you focus the camera, they're gone. So your guy must have been really fast.
The Nine Banded Armadillo isn't all that "exotic" in Texas (back in the 60's, I knew a 12 year old who'd rather eat Armadillo than he would chicken). FWIW, Texas designated the nine-banded armadillo ( Dasypus novemcinctus) as the official state small mammal in 1995. And when you're driving down Our Roads, they're Kinda hard to Miss, (along with Skunks and Deer) LOL!
@@raccoonman5451 I live about 1/2 way between Dallas and Houston. We see them all of the time and have a lot of trouble with them coming into our yard at night and rooting it up, looking for food. I also just retired from TXDOT and working there, you can definitely see a lot, due to having to ride the Roads after the weekend and remove dead animals, LOL!
Armadillo is a good wild meat , Here in my country Trinidad 🇹🇹 , we always eat that for hunting season we call it ( Tattoo ) once you know how to cook it it would definitely taste good , its always wild meat ( iguana , tattoo , Mat , Manitou ) with roti or dumplings in trinidad when it comes to a celebration or event
I'm brazilian, my mother used to eat armadillos when she was a child. Its prohibited in Brazil now because its dangerous to eat armadillos since they can carry leprosy. Sunny shouldn't trust these local people from poor isolated areas about food safety.
