It's so great that he takes that extra 4 seconds at the end of every. dang. exercise. to gently mute his strings like he's trying to comfort an already sleeping baby.

I so wish I could afford a Lowden (Old Lady) Acoustic...There's one in a shop near-by but at £4k a little out of my league, at least until I sell my first born. ;O) BTW: You are a Very Good Teacher. No fuss, No Frills - Just Like It Is & Should Be.
@@CarlJohnson-ff6yb Don't they say you should get the best instrument you can afford, but also it's more about the player than the instrument. Because a great player could make a cheap instrument sound ok, but a bad player isn't going to do a good instrument justice.
harmonics are only in specific spots, the 5th 7th and 12th. however if you have capo on 2nd thread you could do harmonics on 7th 9th and 14th. that is +2. this way you can do harmonics on any place if you hold the thread 5/7/12 notes before. hope this helps
many thanks for your lesson! you're life saver! I have been searching this technique but I don't know what it's called! I am glad I found your video! cheers!
Does your guitar have steel or nylon strings? What about your friend’s? That could be what causes the difference, along with different actions between guitars
What's the interval when you use the 7th fret distance on the artificial harmonics? The 12th fret distance is an octave if I'm correct, is the 7th fret an octave + a 5th?
Good job! I love harmonics and use them quite a bit on my original compositions if any are interested in looking up Tim Hillwood for some unique guitar instrumentals.
You need to do Sagreras 6-7 if you want to complete this technique. You only showed half of it. Its not unusual to have to return to a good solid classical guitar method if you want to fully utilize the right hand.
These harmonics can be hard to produce on acoustic, try picking closer to the bridge, higher string tension there can sometimes help the harmonics come out better. Also, you may want to try plucking the strings a little lighter, sometimes if you pick too hard, all you will hear is the percussive sound of the plucking motion, if you stick with it, I am sure you will get it in time, the same harmonics can also be found where the 24th fret would be, which should be just to the left of the middle of the soundhole (if you have a guitar with different sounholes, i.e. Ovation, you will need to experiment with finger placement), sometimes they come out better playing them there. Harmonics are one of those things on guitar that look easy but take a bit of practice to get right, as I am unsure whether you are new to harmonics or not, I will simply give you the advice I was given, via Guitar Techniques magazine, try to imagine that the fret/string is red hot, meaning that after touching it, you need to immediately remove your finger from the string to avoid getting 'burned', you can keep your finger there for longer if you desire a more percussive effect, but for the bell like tone illustrated here, you need to remove your finger immediately after playing the harmonic, so as to let it ring out clearly, one good thing is that if you can get good at playing harmonics on an acoustic, playing them on electric is so much easier, harmonics on electric, even unamplified tend to ring out more, which may be a scale length thing, plus you can get more harmonics on electric. Hope all this helps answer your problem. :)
great ! sounds wonderful. but for some reason the last part dos'nt sound the same when I play it compared to the video. you used different tuning or something?
Shit i got a heart attack when he started talking, because I was so focused on his playing 😂

this is one of the best harp harmonic instructional videos i've seen. great combination of techniques and a song to pull it all together.
Best video on harp/waterfall harmonics I've found in last 2 years - Excellent!
Anyone else think “isn’t this a tutorial?” before he started talking?
Like, don’t get me wrong, I was enjoying the music but I was just thinking “SO HOW DO YOU DO IT?” after hearing it a couple dozen times

i can only do harmonic in 12 fret, am i alone?
Adam Maulana ;
Adam Maulana yes you are
u have to remove your finger as soon as they ring, the only place u could leave ur fingers while they ring are indeed at the 12th fret dot

Wow thank you. . . This amazing
wow that is great sound.
i think it depends on guitar, i had to tap hard on my guitar(which also messes up the sound sometime) but on my friends one its just a light touch

Question ✋
Is low fret action necessary for harmonics?
Bro u just made it easy and really now I can play harmonics... not that loud but yes I can
taking your finger off the harmonic immediately after picking it will get a much louder sound
Cool!
I m confused about plectrum guitar nd classical guitar...I m interested to learn fingerstyle ...

As far as I know, is harmonics can only be use into "E" chord progressions?
No, but it's easier to do as you can do it with open strings.
You can do harmonics over any chord
can we please get tabs

no, it does help to have fresh strings on though. I've gotten good harmonics on $5 slinky's as on $15 elixirs. Hope this helps!
