I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and playing briefly for Tommy on one of his backstage meet and greets and he is so supportive to other players and their respective abilities Everything he does is so regimental and takes years of careful practice
look up Lenny Breau. who tommy learned the cascading harmonics from. 10 minutes in Tommys explanation is basically copy paste what Lenny says in his videos about cascading harmonics. definitely worth checking out
Dear Tommy CGP: Thank you for sharing the beauty of harmonics. Lovely tones. Life truly is not a rehearsal. So get on with it. Words to live by. Treasure each moment.🦋
How fortunate we are to have you sir.! Thanks for making yourself available to the rest of us via the confuser, helping us out by passing on the fundamentals that make you and Chet so awesome, much appreciated ...anchoring down as much as possible mate. Cheers'
5:21 what is that first harmonic note? And also the notes that are pressed down for that chord? (Just like 5th fret a string, for example; I don’t understand the actual note names)
For the chorded harmonics, how do you do that? I understand making a harmonic on a single note but how do I make a chord and play harmonics in between each note? Or when you go to the chord are you just applying it as a picking pattern an holding down all the string? Perhaps some strings in the chord are pressed while half the string are not pressed and played as harmonic note? Because I can’t press down a string to make a harmonic sound I have to gently hover my finger on top of it, Do you understand what I’m trying to ask?
Each harmonic you play off a fretted chord is played 12 frets above each note in the chord ie you are outlining the chord shape with your index finger 12 frets higher and striking that harmonic off the index with the thumb under/behind it It is very difficult to do and takes hours and hours of slow practice
This must have been taped years ago. Tommy looks so young. Of course, he makes these techniques look effortless, which they are anything but.

I adore you so much, Tommy you are so generous
I bet there's only a few guitarists teach and share their technique
Well actually the internet is full of guitarists teaching their stuff. The problem is finding the right ones.

Is it because the chorded technique you are using the artificial harmonics?
Not the natural ones?
