  • The Berlin Film Festival begins on Friday.
This year, only one UK film is in competition - and it was shot entirely in South London.
The Beat Beneath My Feet stars south London model-turned-actor Nick Galitzine in his first role.
He explained his role and what the film means to him.
He stars alongside Luke Perry, who is perhaps best known for his hunky role in 90s TV show Beverley Hills 90210.

he said he’d close his eyes whenever he saw his face plastered onto a big screen/poster - how surreal to think this is now the norm for him. proud of his growth and success as an actor and singer ⭐️

Nicholas Dmitrievich Galitzine is a scion of one of the oldest families from the Russian upper aristocracy, those who suffered the most during the revolution and the Communist criminal regime. Nicholas has as ancestors Harold the last King of England from Saxon origin, Vladimir Monomach Grand Duke of Kiev, married to Harold’s daughter. Another of his ancestors is Rurik King of Vikings and founder of a Russian dynasty, which ruled Russia until the XVII Century and the Grand Dukes of Lithuania since the XII Century. His great great grandfather Prince Nicholas Dmitrievich Galitzine was the last Russian President of the Council of Ministers with Tsar Nicholas II, when the February Revolution started. Very few know about his Russian and Social Background, just among the Russian community of émigrés in London and Paris. But Galitzine or Golytsin is indeed one of the oldest princely houses of the Russian Empire. They have more than 1000 years of history.

How well spoken and poised for a nineteen year old. He didn’t know what was ahead for him. Well done Nicholas.

Kniaz Nikolay Georgievich Golitsyn or Galitzine (Geoffrey in Russian is George, the first name of his father)

@@LuisAFvWetzler Funny thing is, that he has nothing with his Russian heritage but identifies himself as Greek, from his moms side, speaks fluent Greek, loves Greek culture, visits Greece regularly and you can find videos of him singing in Greek and dancing the sirtaki dance. That Russian heritage is nothing but a distant memory for the Galitizine family it seems.
