Jon Harris I'm sorry but you must have played for a sorry ass college because 225 should be nothing for anyone who weighs over 180 lbs. If you're a little guy it's understandable but tbh most varsity football players and pretty much every college football player can put up 2 plates. The standard at my high school is benching 1.5x your body weight and for squats you were expected to be able to put up twice your weight.
@@SharksSJ408 Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a little bit of both functional strength and raw strength. In season workouts are typically geared for the former while the off-season is loaded with heavy lifts, getting bigger, etc.
hi there Depends on the program I guess. At my school, Monday was squat day, Tuesday was bench/arms, Wednesday core/endurance, Thursday cleans and olympic workout, and game day we went light weight, high reps in a little bit of everything.
Maxprep tried to tell everyone. They had Bosco #1 in their preseason rankings. Rolled with it til MD took down IMG.

MD got outcoached, Bosco capitalized on MD small linebackers (small for them) and Bryce has a glaring flaw. Congratulations to Bosco, they came out ready to play and had an opening drive that was a coaches dream. They ran it straight down their throats 4 yards at a time, then hit them on play action it was a beautiful drive. Bryce is special, great arm talent and he runs to throw. But almost all of his passes go to Bru. I don't know if they're related but damn. Braedin was single covered with no safety help and kept getting on top of the DB and Bryce didn't even look over there. A 4 star receiver one on one with any corner I'm taking that all day. He threw to him 4 times. Three he over threw when he cooked the corner and the fourth he made a contested 30 yard catch. Bryce also throws off schedule too much. He holds the ball and waits for receivers to break open instead of hitting them out of breaks. Then the coaching was terrible. Fourth and 1 and you throw a slant that gets batted up. Then they can't run a hurry up offense because they have to look to the sideline at all the arm flapping before they can call a play. A 100% fact being at the game in the front row on 20% of the plays one or more of the receivers didn't know the play. They were asking up until time for them to get set and they would just run any route. It was pathetic. I'm torn now because my loyalty is to MD and I know we will most likely play Bosco again but if we win that means a team from somewhere other than Cali would be National Champs because we took each other out. Great game Bosco well deserved. #Ass whipped
losdog911 Shameless plug here, but don't forget about Corona centennial. they're undefeated and if they were to beat Bosco and mater dei (or one or the other) than they should be the #1. I take into account how far they keep moving up in all the major rankings, especially since lake Travis got their breaks beaten off of them.

He played a good game. You need me to wash his socks. All I said about the kid is he always throws to his first read and he does. When his first read wasn't there last night he pulled the ball down and ran. They did a great job of finding the mismatch. MD and Bosco run straight man to man and he threw two great balls down the seam to #3 matched up against a freshman #14. Why MD didn't drop Jeremiah down to play the slot is beyond me. But DJ did what he was supposed to do against man to man, single high safety. He did what MD didn't, exploit matchups. They both play man except Bosco rolled coverage to Bru and left the other corner on an island.

Well being from Texas and I love my high school football. Do I think my state is best of course, but if I said California isn’t making a LEGIT statement to be the best right now I’d be lieing. So matter fact with that being said right now California #1 Florida#2 simply because they travel across the states and can compete...... as much as I would hate to say this Texas #3 simply because we don’t travel out of state far.
I saw something about the coaches association in Texas football agreeing to avoid those national cross country match-ups cause they said it effect the "sanctity" of Texas high school football. Seriously, after IMG went and beat up on DeSoto a couple years back and Bishop Gorman wiped the floor with Cedar Hill. They said they'd try to avoid it from now on... Gorman even tried to book Allen 2 seasons ago and they declined.

Sorry this is a very late reply but a lot of the players on these Cali teams aren’t even from Cali, in California schools are allowed to recruit from around the nation(same as Florida) in Texas no recruiting is done it’s just kids growing up in their neighborhood playing for their highschool

Every game played is different. IMG and Mater Dei game was hyped up for a while now and mater dei was the better team with a close win. Everybody was assuming that meant that mater dei would def beat sjb. Mater dei was sleeping after they beat img while their other rival sjb was lurking waiting to strike. Sjb came out and balled on mater dei because they underestimated them. Now sjb is considered the best team in the nation. But this can change at any point in time by couple of other teams. As I said every game is different. Just because sjb beat mater dei which was considered the best, doesnt mean they cant lose to other good teams. It’s about each individual game
