@K Kwill When I say all I don't mean it literally. SMH! They have a system that some kids wouldn't want to play in. Big up to Duncanville for having the courage to play Mater Dei. There's alot more teams in Texas that deserved that butt whooping (cough, cough... Southlake Carroll, North Shore, Carthage, and Highland Park)
I was born n raised in Houston and played Texas High school football. I’m pretty sure the North Shore team we played when I was in high school could definitely keep up with this Mater Dei team. Every generation has different talent. After living in LA for 4 years and counting I’m not surprised MD took it to em.’ Living out in California you have an abundance of Canyon and Mountain Hikes and elevated terrain to stay in tip top shape. Also California just has an overall way Maori athletic spirit to it than really anywhere in the US, I can’t really explain it, you just have to live it, they even have free exercise machines in most public parks. California’s a great place to get in great shape and become the best athlete you can be if that’s your goal. Texas is flat and definitely not a walking place.
exactly man! Born and raised in SoCal. There's so many things to do in terms of outdoor activities and attractions/events that HS football is not even a top priority like in boring TX. One can go surfing in the Pacific Ocean in the morning and then go snowboarding up in Big Bear in the afternoon in the same day! We are definitely spoiled geographically. CA in general produces top Division 1 athletes across all major sports
Not to mention the temperature is always 75. Go outside and run all day long like we do. In Big Ten Acc and SEC country it’s either snowing 6 months out the year or raining and flooding. You can’t run and get faster. This is why they stress big boy ball and the teams that win those conferences have guys with world class speed like Ohio State and Alabama

I’m from Texas and we take high school football seriously and we have some outstanding coaches and well coached players, but MD is on a whole different planet and people from Cali talk shit all the time about how they’re better and look what they do Texas ain’t shit. Well Texas is predominately public schools and can’t recruit players or trust me they would and Mater Dei’s coach Bruce Rollison is one of the best to ever do it and that’s why he is a legend and this coming season when Raul Lara takes over you’ll see a different Mater Dei team that will not dominate like they use too.
@@leo29hornsfan what you say is reasonable and true except..."Mater Dei (13-1) Under first-year head coach Frank McManus, who took over for legendary coach Bruce Rollingson, the Monarchs outscored foes 544-124, won a fourth state title (against no losses), all since 2017." - Sports Illustrated

But I wasn’t impressed the way Raul Lara finished at Long Beach Polytechnic and starting over with a new program now I could be wrong because these kids at MD have loads of talent and are just impossible to beat, but when a coach like Biff Pogi left St. Francis academy in Baltimore Maryland they took a huge nose dive last season and MD could slide a little bit this season. Like I said I could be wrong..

Duncanville is a public school. Mater dei receuits through the nation specifically for sports. It's a prep school. Its not even remotely the same. Duncanville only has players from that district not from all over the world.
Yea schools like img and mater dei are athletic college prep schools. They recruit throughout the nation and world. It's super expensive to go to one (they do scholarships). They are also banned from competing in local highschool seasons. They aren't allow to participate in local seasons. They have to make their own scheduals with schools throughout the country willing to play them. Sometimes they have to find a team willing within a couple days. One of these schools playing a public school will 99% be a blowout. Because it's just not fair. One school is full of local kids, one is full of the top college prospects in the world lol. I'm sure there is a public school able to beat them. But it would probably have to be a texas catholic school. Or Florida public. Cali has the best prep schools. But public not so much
The difference is the speed of the game. You watch the Servite game or the Saint John Boscoe game and the speed of play is so much faster compared to the speed of Duncanville. Every play for Duncanville took a century to develop compared to the other Cali teams I mentioned. This was literally a spring game for Mater Dei
I was at the game and it was over at halftime. Them Cali boyz came to TX and gave Ducanville the whoopins! Ducanville def has size but not the athletes to match. MD best players #3 and #4 didn’t play the 2nd half. The horns down is so disrespectful 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The truth is that Dville will never win a big game with that coaching staff. They have such a vanilla scheme. When they Mach up against well coached athletic teams, they can’t dominate like they do against the lesser talented schools. Hence why they always lose the big game. Those kids would be studs if they played for some of the prominent teams in Texas. Sad.
IMG has come here multiple times. Now Mater Dei. Bellevue has come here. De La Salle has come here. Florida Miramar has come here. And a handful of others. You win some and lose some. That's football.

Well these top5 private school teams you speak of recruit kids nation wide, while these top10 public schools are restricted to their districts. Let some of these public schools recruit within their state and see the difference it makes.
I think the biggest difference is that these Los Angeles teams are playing top ranked teams every weekend. Texas teams don't face competition until the finals of their playoffs. They don't have to get better, they can physically dominate their competition with a vanilla scheme. in So Cal you can't make a mistake, you can't waste opportunities with lame plays - you will lose. The finest steel has to go though the hottest fire.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making this out-of-state match happen. Mater Dei is a superb team and Duncanville is very gutsy with playing IMG and MD back to back years. If it is true that certain top Texas teams decline the matchup with MD, I have to ask why? What really impress me is the years of coaching from both head coaches. Mad respect.
No other texas teams don't want to accept the challenge and surely DON'T want to travel to california. I know Mater Dei and St John Bosco boosters has reached out to Austin, Westlake and Allen texas and they both declined so duncanville took it! Not sure about North Shore. I think westlake didn't want to risk putting Cade Klubnik against Mater Dei and same with southlake Quinn Ewers in case they had a bad game!
Texas public schools don’t recruit players like Mater Dei so it’s not really an even match up. No benefit in playing these private schools who recruit the best players from all over their state when you only have kids from your town
It was just one game so it is hard to draw a lot of conclusions but the biggest difference that I see between these two reams is EXECUTION. Mater Dei never beats itself and has become this well oiled machine that wins at the point of attack whether on defense or offense. The Monarch’s also have superb skill position players like Raleek Brown and CJ Williams. On the other side of the ball, Duncanville looks like every player has D1 size, speed, and ability but does not execute and play cohesive football. They remind me of Long Beach Poly out here in CA. Walking off the bus, D’Ville looks the part but didn’t play like a TEAM and Mater Dei dismantled them. Texas football is no joke but Cali football is all about EXECUTION, Focus, and teamwork.

💯…. Duncanville is the truth
Im guilty of running my mouth without researching
Bruh, this ain’t a Cali vs TX thing. MD is a private school whose players are recruited going up against a public school whose players legally have to permanently reside within the city limits. If there was a Texas HS football team with the best players from the Dallas/FW metroplex alone, they would donkey stomp this MD team. Let alone if a team was able to recruit the best players from all of Texas. GTFO with that nonsense!
@@jamesong.a.7695 EXACTLY 🤣. Imagine the best kids from Allen, Duncanville, Southlake Carrol, Westlake, Lake Travis,, Katy, Northshore etc. ALL WENT TO THE SAME SCHOOL. Man...... they would have to put two scoreboards up to show the score 130-6
@@SwankySandGaming all I hear is excuses. IMG got players from all over the US and they still got crush by MD and SJB. Yall put everything on the players when yall give the coaches no respect.
Here for the recruiting comments
A lot of these Mater Dei football players are probably top recruits for D1 schools.

Once again Cali ball proves it’s the best Mater dei and bosco run the world and Florida took there L and now Texas take this L
Bruh that’s literally one team in Texas calm down 😎

@H.B Blaze 2018, Bosco didnt even make it to the semifinals that year congrats
the talent level in the South overall and all levels of football is unmatched dont let a few games over the years cloud your judgement.
@@simply4876 it’s been 5 years…

When you think about it, Cali should have the best youth sports programs in the nation. This is because of two things: weather and population. It’s not a coincidence the three states with the biggest population have the best football programs.
That’s true but, Hawaii who have the lowest population in the country is also ranked in the top 5 for prep football. That’s crazy.
Yeah it’s amazing how Hawaii produces top teams and talent with little population. Most likely it’s due to the culture and weather.
@@anonymoushuman3657 - I can agree with that
It’s too bad college teams in Cali can’t take advantage of it with top recruits going to the sec and acc like Bryce and DJ and the kid from Los alamitos
MD coaching next level
So is there heavy recruiting that them and Bosco do.

Why does California's team look so much more diverse and intelligent than ours!? Is this a correlation as to why we got D'stroyed? We cant even spell out something entirely across our jerseys. Like come on, we gotta do better!!! 😭
It’s the coaching bro. Cali teams are super disciplined and coached like they in college. No cap the top 3 trinity league teams, MD, Servite and St John Bosco would win state title in every single state
No, Mater Dei recruits, they are a private school, she can get whoever they want. These kids are paying to go there. Duncan like is just a public school.

Growing up in So Cal watching Mater Dei regularly, I’ll never forget this going to a CIF basketball game at Mater Dei in CA that’s our playoffs. Bishop Amat went to Texas and smashed Aledo in 2014 42-7. Aledo went on to win 15 games and the Texas 5a state title. BA didnt win their league and got bounced in the 1st round of the CIF playoff.
