    But regardless, here's the 5 I reviewed!

    This was really informative! My fave of the ones you mentioned, is Living Proof for sure. HOWEVER... I don’t know if you picked up the Redken Clean Dry Shampoo when Ulta gave it as a Diamond perk or some other GWP. It is AMAZING!!! I don’t love the smell (or hate it), but it works fantastically.

    Completely agree on your rankings. I have very fine, but oily, hair. I've tried all five plus some. The Klorane and Living Proof are by far the most effective for me. I tried the Dry Bar and couldn't understand the hype - it didn't do a darn thing for me. I'd love a drugstore video -- I go through enough dry shampoo that it's too expensive to go with Sephora.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm going to be shopping for drugstore dry shampoo with a completely different mindset - who knew silicone and oil are so common in dry shampoo?! Hopefully I find some excellent ones at the drugstore because... completely agreed, I go through them too quickly!!

  • @das_ein
    @das_ein 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Alice, I’ve tried 2 of the ones you mentioned and agree! The first dry shampoo I ever used was the B&B - my sister gave me her small bottle because she didn’t like how visible the residue was (she has brown hair, I have black 🤨). For me, it gave me a lot of volume because my hair is normally very slick/slippy even when it’s oily, so having the powder gave it something to grip. But then I tried the Living Proof and I was done searching (despite the price!). To me, it smells just like their other products: bright grapefruit! Even though I like it, I still only use it when I’m being *really* lazy because my scalp is so oily, I get scalp pimples (TMI!) if I don’t wash it every 2-3 days. Now you know too much. 🤦🏻‍♀️
    I’ve been wondering about the Korlane, so now I have an idea where it fits in with the other 2.

      Grapefruit, herbs, jasmine - I'm going to start a mental collection of all the different ways the Living Proof scent is described haha! But yeah, it's so good. Now that I've realized how rare it is to find silicone/oil free dry shampoos, I'm on the lookout for any other brands that do the same thing. Would be great to find one at the drugstore!!

  • @donnaroberts281
    @donnaroberts281 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    I would love a drug store version of this. I’m a brunette with very thin, fine hair. I need oil-sopping properties in a dry shampoo. I’ve tried a few of the tinted dry shampoos, and I don’t like them. I haven’t found one that matches my hair, and the tint looks weird, whereas the regular white dry shampoo kind of goes away. Plus I’m a messy person, so the dark spray gets everywhere. I haven’t tried many of the other shampoos in the video (I don’t really shop at Sephora), but Living Proof is my favorite too.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That does make sense to me given that the tinted Drybar only works for me...when it works lol.
      One that I like when my hair is bright colors is Tigi's Rockaholic...no cast BUT...not the best for oil control. I also like Batiste in the affordable range, but I've ended up buying LP for a while. Maybe the drugstore has a newer dry shampoo that works extremely well!

    Girl! I’m giving you all the high 5’s over Living Proof dry shampoo! Actually I enthusiastically agree with you most of the time but I don’t want to freak you out so I save it for the super big agrees 😂
    I just discovered the best way to save $$ on it, like you I’d take advantage of Black Friday or something and order a few at a time. Lining them up neatly in my cabinet like little grease killing ninjas. But I digress... here’s the newsflash ...They’ve started making it in a 7.3 oz size for $36! Almost twice as much for $11 more. I love it!
    I have the mother of all extreme this stuff really does make dirty hair clean story but I think I’ve rambled enough. In fact, I need to finish the video 😂 I was so excited to find a fellow lover of the living proof MAGIC I had to pause. Amika is up next, idk yet what you’re gonna say but it sure didn’t do much for me. Batiste was better.

    I like the initial scent of the Living Proof one but by the end of the day/night, I find it really strong and overpowering (like almost headache inducing). Even though it's not a bad smell, it is just sort of a lot. For the Amika one, I can barely stand the smell. It's beachy which makes me think of sunscreen, which is not great for a hair smell I feel like haha.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! It is definitely beachy!
      I'm always surprised by how strong smelling some dry shampoos are - maybe it's the contrast of fragrance free trending in skin care that has me going "but what's going on with hair care over here" LOL!

  • @GrandPriestess

    I had a scalp condition as a kid and couldn’t wash my hair. The doctor told me to use talcum powder. Been traumatized ever since and will never buy dry shampoo.

    I’m a fine hair blonde, I get oily hair so quickly! When I work out it’s destroyed! I wash my hair at least 3 times a week, typically dry shampoo in a can doesn’t work for me, it’s makes the problem worse, I have to use the powdered ones!!!

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    I want to try dry shampoos so bad but I have to wash my hair everyday during the week since I am a full time aircraft mechanic. My hair gets soooo dusty, sweaty and oily. Sometimes it makes me want to wear a shower cap all day to keep the dust out of my hair cause then my hair just dries out 😢 thankfully I never lost my job and I’ve been working this entire time but my hair feels like it’s gonna fall out!!!

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole

      Hmm, I wonder if you can do something like a hair wrap? It's kind of a different world, but I used to wear thick hair wraps when I worked in a lab (lots of odd smells in a lab lol). Didn't block the smells entirely but it did help!

      I love the Eva NYC one! It smells really good but it’s pretty strong. Leaves a cast but not awful. I use it more for the smell but it soaks up oil well, however I don’t have very oily hair. I’m not a very good reviewer 🥴 here lol

    Would you say the Detox dry shampoo is not for those of us with darker hair color then? I've never heard of a dry shampoo with a color other than white! I wonder how it would work on my brunette hair.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Scent? Why? I detest scented hairsprays/dry shampoos. I wear perfume and it always clashes and makes me smell like a bordello if the scent lingers . I'd rather have a quick chemical smell that dissapates than a lingering chemical perfume smell. Just...no.

    ALL Amika products smell like OFF mosquito spray to me. I find it disgusting.i can't tolerate it. I asked my husband to smell my sample of conditioner and he said it smelled like bug spray. So I guess I'm not crazy. :p The conditioner was just the last in a line of Amika products that went into the trash. :/ Maybe the dry shampoo is different?
