Nice idea! I tried it and then did some of my own testing. The pressure plate will stop waterflow, so we can remove the fence piece and flooded slab and just have the water source directly near the plate. Then we can do the piston door design flush with the floor, rather than dropped with slabs, since we're able to utilize the full block space and still be close enough to the puffer for it to react.

But I counldnt find any easy way to position the minecart without the fence 🤔 and if you touch the minecart just a bit it isnt positioned right any more...

​@@smartin.minecraft - I started with your setup, so I initially had a fence post where the plate was, to set the correct distance. So the steps would be: 1: set a fence post down, followed by three rails in a line. 2: Surround the rails with blocks and place a bucket of water with the puffer on the rail closest to the fence. 3: Place minecart on the rail furthest from the puffer and jump on it to push it into the puffer (it should immediately get pull into it) and be sure the cart is pushed up against the fence post (with the puffer in the cart, you won't take damage). 4: Remove the water from the rail and quickly (so puffer doesn't die) dig up the middle rail and put a block there. 5: Times ticking for the puffer, so remove the fence post and replace it with the pressure plate, and then put the water back over the puffer so it doesn't die. That's the trigger done. You can remove the extra blocks and rail and then wire the redstone to the pressure plate. As far as touching the minecart, if you block the entire thing in afterwards, there shouldn't be anything to push it out of alignment.

You need to make sure that the minecart overruns the pufferfish on a rail with no water, then it can jump into water

Oooh great idea. Will use this in my villager breeder. So I can sort out empty carts that have not picked up any villagers

good video and all but have you tried doing this in survival mode as it would be helpful to show how you get a puffy idiot in there while your getting poisoned

I made a farm that involves going up and down using bubble column and this was the only I could find to automatically move myself

Imma make this in a secret underground base and put tnt under my friends bases and if i get angry i go in that room and detonate their bases
