    I replaced another pair of waders that had failed catastrophically. Didn't even bring a pair of dry socks because I had new waders! Well, they leaked. I took them back and they replaced them on the spot! I'm 6'5" and love being able to squat down and have freedom of movement. The dry suit zipper is waterproof and affords you the opportunity to recycle the morning coffee without having to undress first. I use them wading and in my pontoon boat. Both in freshwater and the salt, as well. The storage is amazing! I've gone from a fully filled vest to a sling pack to just carrying what I need in the wader pockets. And for those of us in the PNW, they are a local company. Based in Bellingham, WA. I wound up getting the matching rain coat, too, I like the products so much.

    Great review, Dan! I have had these waders for a year now and highly recommend them. They are very durable and just work. The zipper makes it easier when nature calls. Sizes for us tall guys. Love the fit. They did get a little too toasty for me on warm summer days, but will be perfect in the fall and winter.

    I was frustrated looking for a long time to find good fitting women's waders. I then only had a mans pair which were hard to walk in because they were too long. A male friend was wearing a pair of Dryft waders and recommended them. I had never heard of the brand so I check out the website. I ended up purchasing the women's full waders in February 23. They have been really really good. I only wish they made a zip version for women. We have to go to the bathroom too. There wasn't an option for a stiff belt in that model either so I ordered one from a police supply company. The stretchy belt pulls down with my wading staff. I am involved in a women's fishing group and handed out a number of their business cards. I'm currently thinking of ordering a pair of wading pants because I like the brand so much. Thank you for the discount.

    Dan, thank you for making this video. I had suggested some alternative option wader reviews awhile back, and I don't know if this video is just a coincidence. These waders look great ! My old Dan Baileys had two draw string devices on the top and YES, it made a difference when I went swimming (more than once 🤬). The inner pockets and exterior D-loops & loops are super kewl. Curious if they have a hanging loop sewn in to the inner-back?

    Amazing products I’ve had a pair for about five years now my first pair of XL‘s inseam was too long and the stocking foot was too big and bunched up in my boots. When I called customer service with DRYFT, they immediately informed me that the new sizes were coming out that had XL short And I was able to exchange them with really no issues. At the time they weren’t shipping to Canada when I initially bought the XL’s but just a quick phone call and we made an arrangement and was able to get the product shipped to Ontario Canada. Great product recommend them for everybody. Amazing size selection awesome customer service.

    That is quite a comprehensive review, making these waders look like a good pair to consider.
    If they do not come with boots, how dry do your feet stay?
    General question: if having water fill the waders can be dangerous, why aren't they fitted with drain openings? Would such a simple feature not help empty the waders in a matter of seconds?

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! These are designed to be warn with a wading boot. They are a dry wader (as opposed to wet wader, like a diver's suit) so having a secure belt and cinch up top keeps the water out if you were to fall in. Typically, you are wearing these in cold water situations. Hope that helps!

    I bought the Dryft pant waders that look like Jeans. The Jean look I thought would be hilarious to have. But they look like jeans!! Wore for a week in Montana and Yellowstone. Didn’t look crazy walking around Yellowstone in grey plastic looking pants. My brothers $500 Simms swooshed around, while great for bears , it drove us crazy listened to him walk around. And Dryft customer service personally emailed me back and forth to make sure I got the right size, they didn’t just send me a sizing chart.

    Nice waders! They also put those opposing buckles so you can pull the waders down to your waist and buckle the straps to make wading pants. Helps you cool off and ventilate some when not in deeper water. Boot versions would be nice to see aswell. But i will say their pricing isn't too bad either compared to waders in this class. 5 ply these are gonna last! Perfect steelheading waders. Fish on!

    I was debating on Dryft. They seem to have a lot of hype and I like that they are owned in the PNW. Ended up going with Patagonia though because I had a pretty sweet deal and appreciated a few of the extras, like the being able to drop the top with the suspenders still on. A correction though. A 5-layer laminate does not mean they are any more durable than a 3 or 4 layer. Durabillity is based on how abrasion resistant the exterior and interior layers are, how well the membrane is designed, and how well they are laminated together. Failure of any given layer means the waders start to fail. In that way, more layers may actually be worse as it is more parts to fail. Typicaly more layers means that manufacturers are adding premium features like a soft interior fabric, etc. But I don't see those here, so it makes me wonder what the 5-ply actually is. Kinda sounds like marketting mumbo-jumbo

    Firstly great video, time on this appreciated. Only thing i typed in google were are Dryft waders made = made in china then sent to usa. I would say most waders are anyway. China and Japan do make very good quality stuff over many years in fishing over many years, but im talking
    old school China. I think it's really personal choice and what one expects from there use. Im going to buy a pair of Orvis Pro waders as i just go from land to water, some i think push them to far and think all waders are built forever.

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you the feedback - it is appreciated. You make a good point - the majority of wader manufacturers get their material from overseas; some will manufacture & assemble in the U.S. - smaller companies like Dryft, don't have the infrastructure to do that themselves, so they arrive complete. From there, what I believe is the deciding factor boils down to customer service & satisfaction (Dryft has nearly 5-stars in this category). That's my two cents...thanks again for your thoughts. Lol saving money because they are made in China so you can not compare the price with simms which are .made in the USA

    • @FlyFishDan

      They are assembled in the USA with the same fabrics and components sourced from overseas. Simms are a great pair of waders and so are DRYFT.

      Then why did you bother to watch? How else do you find out about products? Obviously, you searched 'fishing waders' then chose to watch my video. Perhaps you just like trolling people on TH-cam - find a kinder path in life, it will serve you well. Cheers and FISH-ON!!

    paid review of a product - sorry man, I'll depend on unpaid reviewers, you can't be unbiased when they are paying you in either product or dollars

      Hey there Bearboy - I don't align myself with brands that don't deliver on the promise - yes, I get paid a small commission on referred sales to this family-owned company, but you get to save a little money too. Do your research before making snarky comments, they have stellar reviews from thousands of happy customers.

      @@FlyFishDan so you get paid to review waders that you have never used and tell me how durable they are? right!
      Look - you got the click you wanted - but you get all butt hurt when I call you out for the obvious paid review - why not be open and transparent and admit up front that you are getting paid for the review - you know - open and honest? is thats so hard? ? seriously man - does credibility mean nothing to you? obviously not - anything in search of ther mighty dollar - right!
      I do my research, thats why I watched the video - but - for some reason - i just don't trust paid pitchmen, esspecially when they attack potential customers whoo call you out for your lack of transparency! The good news - keep it up - i appreciate you keeping the fact that you're a paid schill at the top of the comments - gives discerning customers something to consider when they make their decision.

      @@fernleyvaqueros Sorry It took me so long to respond - because - you know - I've been out flyfishing. But you - you need to just keep being a used car salesman and hyping crap from shady manufacturers under the guise of a" review" - because - you know - that's what you apparently do for a living!
      See you on the river, if you ever actually get there! - I'll be the guy fishing, instead of setting up cameras and equipment so you can be an aspiring Influencer! and try and hype up some other crap!
