So good mate! This should be on Spotify! Your tone, love that dark and deep tone. That Yamaha looks so much better with a maple fingerboard. I rarely write anything, never negative, but not that many compliments that often either. Then you really understand how peaceful and beautiful this was when I feel the need to write my appreciation.. Thank you and I hope you'll share your music on Spotify so that we can all enjoy. Oh and good drumming keeping it clean as well!
Well he is better than Spotify, he's in a class of his own, if he follows the crowd he'll never get further than the crowd... I understand your admiration for him which I completely agree with
Love your work, exactly the sound looked for, loving the vocals that compliment the playing, all works, keep the videos coming, sets you apart from other bass players. Best wishes.
That was absolutely beautiful ! Funny thing is I was searching for a review of the BART BH2 pickups and you popped up on another track . I’m so glad TH-cam did that . Instantly subscribed. Beatific tone , amazing feel and chops . Can’t wait to listen to more vids !
I think I've listened this track like 100 times in 3 days , and i still can't get enough of it . Excellent work , and very inspiring as I am also a upright / electric bass player. Maybe I should explore the idea of getting a 6 string , just saw that same bass but in the classic red on a nearby store. Thanks for the upload, you won my sub 🤘
That's great man. No greater compliment than having inspired someone. 6 strings aren't for everyone, the extra range plays a big part in my creating process. Thanks for listening and subscribing. P.s. Get the bass! ✌
Liam Tillyer big update : I got a Fender Jazz Deluxe V , just like yours on natural without paint but with the original tuners and bridge hahaha :). I've dreamed about owning one since I was a little boy watching Geddy Lee and Marcus Miller , now I'll make the efforts on making music the rest of my life. Plz, keep playing like this and making videos. It's really inspiring 🤘
Thanks mate! If I remember correctly the track is, for the most part, in Dmaj. The front end theme is D mixolydian or Gmaj if you like. Hope this helps! :)
I've listened a few times & I can't help being reminded of "Little Fluffy Clouds" (The Orb I think), & that's not meant badly btw. As someone new to looping I found it inspiring, the TRB ain't too shabby either :-)
Hi Liam beautiful music. I'm actually getting a John east for my Ibanez 756 with nordstrand pickups. A six string with big coil single and a p pickup. I have one in my jazz basses as well. What I wanted to know was how do you personally compare the sound of your fender with the east pre and the Yamaha with the east pre? Thanks much and gratitude.
Thanks a lot Sherwin. It's a good question and now that I think about it they're completely different beasts. The Yamaha is mellow compared with the Jazz. The pickups and position of them must play a big part in this amongst other factors. The bartolini's have way more emphasis about them which plays well with the John East imparting plenty of bite and growl. The Yamaha Pickups have a more closed sound on this model to my ears which I guess impacts on the response of the John East circuit. In this case it works well as I wanted a darker/rounded tone for the upper register stuff. I guess you never know for sure until you try it. I tried a Demeter in the Yamaha first off but the John East was far superior. For what it's worth I think it'll sound great with the Nordstrands. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes!
Hi Liam, congratulations for the sound and for the bass lines you choose, both very refined. I have read all the comments so I know what I am interested in knowing but I am missing a detail, can I ask you, usually, which strings do you use? Brand, material and scale? Thanks for taking your time. P.S. Translation done with Google.
Nice one! In all honesty I can't remember sorry. This feels like a very long time ago....I might do a re-boot of this track one day. Thanks for listening!
Are you going to be making these songs available for download? They're really great. A few of them (like this one) have made it onto my studying/focus playlist because they are so relaxing and create so much ambience. Would love to have these on my phone for offline listening!
That's great to hear Landroid. I will definitely do so very soon - I've been meaning to do it for some time now! Thanks for listening and commenting, will post a link in the description when they're up! :)

Bass sounds extremely nice. what modifications did u do to it?
Cheers. John East preamp + birdseye maple fingerboard.
hey, whats the pedal that have a "bassist" written on it?
It's a Bassics BPA-1 Preamp
Who is your drummer on Polaris..? Damn!!.lol.
Paul Aubertin Damon Sawyer. He’s alright. ;)

Beautiful sound. Customized 1006 or 1006J?
Yeah 1006 Paul. Thank you.
Hi Liam. Is that a Yamaha trb 1006? If yes, have u changed the pick ups or pre amp in it?
Larry Boy Yes, pickups are the originals. Preamp is a John East Uni Pre.
Liam Tillyer ok thank you
Which trb model is this? 1005 customised?
Correct.
I got myself a 2010 TRB6 and found this while researching pickups, wow!
Nice one Graham. I originally planned to change the pickups but I only upgraded the preamp in the end. Good luck with the mods!
@@LiamTillyer I think the preamp upgrade will do nicely, thanks again
