Zante - Zante Strays, St. Nicholas Beach & Jacqui's birthday

- In episode 4, Jacqui gets to spend her birthday on teh beautiful island of Zakynthos.
The first part of our day is a quick drive up to Zante Strays, near the airport. Here, we look around at the 107 poor dogs that have been abandoned or mistreat and are currently homed here.
We spend some time with theses beautiful dogs and chat with some of the volunteers here.

In the afternoon, we head around to the Vasillikos peninsula where we spend our time at St. Nicholas Beach.
We sample some food at the Beach Club here, before taking some time out to relax on the beach.
Jamie takes a walk up to St. Nicholas Church, over looking the beach itself.
We finish off in Melon Bar to celebrate Jacqui's birthday with a huge Melon cocktail and a surprise birthday cake.

Yes, I think it's only a good thing taking in a dog that really needs a home rather than from a breeder. Poor souls just want to be loved and have company. Heartbreaking that so many lovely and loving dogs are treat so poorly 😪

Wow! Great video yet again you two!.. Those prices for the JetSkis are simply outrageous! ...Fifteen minutes for 40Euros is just daylight robbery!.. No wonder there was no-one on them! We just got back from Corfu and wish we had gone back to Zante instead! Just too much profiteering going on in Corfu, and even blatant scamming on 2 occasions!.. We never had this once in Zante in all our visits since 2012. I hope Zante doesn't go the way of Corfu. Isn't Claude just the epitome of Greek hospitality?! First time we met him was in a Bar just up the road when he was having some time off watching football, but still had time to chat even though we had no idea he was the owner of Melon Bar, lovely bloke. Looking forward to episode 4!

It's been a long time since I've been to Corfu, stayed in Roda and really liked it. Sounds like things must've changed a bit there, which is sad to hear.

We’re back now from our 1st visit to Zante and Alykanas
We had a lovely week albeit a lazy one due to the temps
The hotel was stunning, a level above whilst retaining a family ran vibe and charm
The food in resort was outstanding, more international than we’re used to but great nonetheless
We found Zante more pricy than Corfu, quite frankly crazy prices for things like sunbeds, boat hire etc.
Alykanas is a twin resort with Alykes. We found it larger, louder and busier than San Stefanos in Corfu. I always judge places I go abroad by what they sell on the bars. When I start to see Coors, John Smiths, Strongbow etc it turns me off a bit!
Would we go back? Probably! But the opportunity would have to be perfect. I kind of wanted my heart strings tugged at like Corfu does but it didn’t really happen!
By the way your drone skills are epic!
Thank you Gavlos, sorry to hear it didn't live up to expectations. We stayed in Alykes a few year ago and loved it there. A lot more laid back and just a nice size. Small but enough stuff for night times. Lovely beach too.
We tend not to use sunbeds when we go away so prices don't usually affect us in that way.
Know what you mean about the likes of Coors, John Smoths etc though. Always prefer going local when abroad.
Hi there, we are enjoying the vlogs, we travel out there on Thursday we cant wait. Was just after some advice regarding visiting ST. Nikolaos beach from Kalamaki what's the best way to get there. Thanks
We drove there as we had a car for the duration of our time there. I'm sure I saw someone say on a forum that there is a bus that runs there.
Ok we might hire a car for the week as we plan on going to the water park aswel. Thanks for the reply.
