The name itself - Led Zeppelin - conjures up feelings of both heavy and light. They weren't the only band to tap into this imagery (Iron Butterfly came out a few years earlier while Guns 'n Roses carried it forward), but they embraced the concept more than any other band. For every Black Dog, Immigrant Song and Heartbreaker there was a Thank You, Tangerine and Going to California. More often than not they fused the light and heavy into the same song (Babe I'm Gonna leave you, The Rain Song, Stairway to heaven). You never know what to expect from Led Zeppelin and every time you think you know how a song is going to play out, they hit you with a plot twist.
From what I heard this song was about a man going off to war, I can’t say that for sure though. Though it was the beginning of their careers, it makes me think of them leaving their wives & kids to tour. They loved performing, & you can tell with the passion they put into each song, whether a cover or original song. They did hate being away from their families, sadly that was a big part of Bonham drinking himself to death. After not performing for two years after the death of Plants 5 year old son, they were preparing for a big US tour, & Bonham didn’t want to leave his wife & kids. Sadly he left them permanently, & he is still missed by millions of us fans. Page doesn’t always have those amazing solos, but more often he does, sometimes even two in a song. The next song You Shook Me, is my favorite off this album, very bluesy & 3 amazing solos. Thank you for your reaction, & I’m glad you are enjoying your journey so far. Remember you’ll love the majority of their songs, there will be only a couple that won’t be your favorite, as we each have different ones. Not many bands have that many great songs, so yes Led Zeppelin is a very great & rare band.
The 1st LP is laden with covers or "Traditional" partly because Robert was still under contract with another Label, check out Jeff Beck's LP released just before & notice Jimmy's choices for material,no quinkee dink
Hi Sir Mike, if You allow me, I would like to sugest You, listen longer and pause less, so You can catch the song flow and change, and understand it better. Also, when You pause, Get Back a little bit 😊👍 and go on with this magical Led Zeppelin Journey, enjoy it
What a great breakdown of my favorite ZEP tune.
The song has lyrics that contradict each other.
Keep doing a great breakdown.
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
YAASSSS! Thank you sooo much! I CANT QUIT YOU BABY should be next.
Oh shyt!!! I like this!
One (of many of theirs) favourites of mine. Jimmy, playing acoustic, is always wonderful to listen to. Great reaction as always, thank you.
Thanks for more Led Zeppelin ❤
Tea for one is a deep cut from the Presence album and a great blues song ❤
This is the very best way to experience Led Zeppelin. Beginning to end. Enjoy. I know I have before. And I will again. 🙂🙂
Love the Zeppelin journey I’m on Board

Loved figuring it out and playing it on my guitar...
