Hi, I was wondering if maybe someday you could do a tutorial on a post frame building?

You can do that with Cut Geometry tool

With Cut Geometry is more faster. It works without void. Simply select the tool, the column and the beam and not need to edit parameters to eliminate the gap

how do you add teh bolts to a wood column in revit?

I just used a bolt family right out of the box... If you're an engineer, there are more precise ways of doing it, as well.

    Hi Jeff,
can you shed a light of this? I need to unfold curved and sloped walls of ACM in order to produce panels. Any suggestions on how to that in Revit? Or Dynamo, Rhino, Inventor, etc... Thanks

If they are segmented… then there might be options in Revit. If it is a continuous curve… extremely challenging in Revit.

@@TheRevitKid yes, they are continuous curve..I'm doomed...it looks like it's time to learn Rhino or Dynamo th-cam.com/video/sS-UH-7vFCk/w-d-xo.html

In my 2023 UK version of Revit, there is no cope, only notch. Must be a regional thing.

Would be interesting if you could create something like the thumbnail, with screws that automatically adjust the length based on the beam thickness.
Even better if we could create a ‘wood-joint’ similar to steel-joint, that automatically appears/adjusts based on dimensions.

    • @TheRevitKid

      I did create the thumbnail….?

    • @Luftvargen

I don’t think you showed that part in the video. But I guessed you created those.
But will they adjust the length if you change the size of the timber?

@@Luftvargen I didn’t show it but that is the case, yes.
