@@rodneyhoskins8187 yeah, my issue was that there was not enough oil in the cylinder. But that's all fixed now. Now it reaches max height and that helps alot!
Would you be able to to a step by step video on how to take out this engine and explain it a bit more deeply, love the video and am planing to take the same engine out my legacy👍
Unfortunally i dont have the time at the moment to make videos due to lots of car projects and filming just increases the time. Oneday i would love to make this!
Hey 👋 Great video 👍 I have a question regarding the removal of thia engine. If i were to install a new one would it require to program the ECU or anything of that sort? I'm thinking of getting a used H6 for my Subaru.
Great video mate, I'm about to do the same thing in my H6 outback and give it a bit of a tidy up, she's got a few oil leaks and also needs a new transmission, your outback is identical to mine, it'd be great if we could work as fast as you did in the video, lol.
That would requireing dropping the whole subframe a transmission. Yes it could be done and would be easier if extra work needed to be done but it is quick enough for me to just remove the engine. Plus as i only have one hoist i needed to roll the car back outside so i could work on other projects. The valve springs ended up taking 11 months to arrive so i was not wanting to have the car up for that long.
great video! I extended the length of the boom with heavy walled square stock steel to extend the reach, which also raises the height by a few inches

+ Another way to lower car on engine pull out could be - to leak front tires to get some clearance.
My engine crane needed some oil in it, ahaha. But thats now fixed!
Thanks for this just removed mine yesterday with the help from this video
About to start watching your disassembly video for the head gasket
Great video, i am in melbourne and have a subaru H6, thanks for the video , keep up good work
Very cool video. Thanks.
Great video big fella!

Nope, bolt in and go
@@CalvesPerformanceGarage Ok thanks for the feedback 👍👌
Did you have to jack the transmission up a little to get the engine out over the subframe ?
Yes, i use the scissor jack for this. I have a spare i use and if you have a 22 or 24mm socket and extensions, you can use that to lift the jack up.
What size is the crankshaft pulley bolt?
im doing mine at the end of the month
Did you have to remove the power steering from the bottom of the engine?

I’m pissed my 2012 h6 just blew head gaskets at 160,000
well done mate :)
Thanks mate!
You guys have a lift, why not lift the car and ‘drop’ the disconnected engine supported on blocks?
That would requireing dropping the whole subframe a transmission.

@@CalvesPerformanceGarage fair enough, was curious because i remember seeing it done this way by Al ‘turbo yoda’ from mighty car mods
