This isn't as far fetched as it sounds. We have trianed lions, Tigers, bears, and other predators to A. do tricks, and B. not immediately eat their trainers. Raptors were pack hunters, and modern pack hunters are capable of accepting another species as their leader. Humans did it with wolves after all, that is why we have dogs.
However, trained does not equal DOMESTICATED. A domesticated animal is safe for almost any human to be around in almost any situation. An elephant can be trained to go into battle, but they can panic and go wild. In this state, it is all but impossible to regain control of the elephant even as it tramples your own army. Lions and Tigers are similar, they panic or "go wild," and they will attack or kill anyone within reach. So, the Raptors could accept Chris as their pack leader, and it can be safe for HIM to be around them, but anyone else is liable to be eaten.
I couldn't have said it better myself. So many people have misunderstood about TRAINING Raptors in Jurassic World, NOT TAMING. Chris Pratt is accepted as their packleader and they respect him but not other people, they will still kill people when he is not around. But they listen to him and do what he says.
I agree. The smarter the animal the more it would want that mental stimulation, and be easier to train. But another guy did have a point: can you train a reptilian creature? I never heard of it and too lazy to check.
I agree once again. Yes, reptiles can be trained. From what I have learned pet lizards can be trained and learned if you are raising them when they are born. There was once a very sick saltwater crocodile I believe who got taken care of by a man and they became best friends, believe it or not. Very famous and amazing story, the crocodile never harmed or attacked the guy. This makes even more sense to me having trained Velociraptors in Jurassic World.
***** Reptile's can be trained, however Dinosaurs and especially Velociraptors are not reptilian, they are closer to aviary. Most reptiles are not pack hunters. Also to ellaborate on notbobby125 's point, domestication is different from training. Domestication is a mental and physical change for a species to desire human contact and leadership.
Besides, in the jurassic park universe, and according to JP3, raptors are smarter than pretty much any animal (mammals included). So even if they are reptiles they should be similar to train.

Sure you can say that but thats not what people are upset at. It's like training any other iconic movie monster. Think if you saw a Xenomorph taking orders from a marine. It would be so stupid. Just like trained raptors are stupid. They are highly intelligent killing machines you cant train them, they just dig their teeth and claws into your face, period.

Let me address the raptor training debate with a very astute point I read a while back.
The original Jurassic Park made great efforts to portray the dinosaurs as animals. It was a huge concern for Speilburg to make these creatures not seem like movie monsters.
This is something that the Jurassic Park sequels have maintained to a certain extent.
So let's assume that the Raptors are animals, predators yes, but still animals.
Animals can be trained with enough time. Even predators such as lions and tigers can be trained today.

The funny thing is that "raptor training" ended up being one of the best things in Jurassic Park, this comes from a guy who likes (not loves) the movie. That relationship between Pratt's character and the raptors is great to watch.
Raptors, from what we can see from fossils and anatomy, seem to be as intelligent as dolphins, which we train all the time. It is a nice take and makes the raptors not just cool but hardcore. Seriously, I bet 11/10 would would ride to battle with raptors on motorcycles.

Also this is only of the trailer. A hishe animation video of the movie as a whole would take longer. And beyond all that they got multiple projects going on at the same time as well. Things like animation take awhile to make, and for this Channel they need to at least release smaller content while working on something bigger.

People waiting for this movie can stop complaining about the raptors not having feathers. The only reason they don't is because Trevorrow wanted to stay true to the beloved raptors of the original movies regardless of whatever scientific evidence which states otherwise.
Why would we want these raptors to be realistic? Real velociraptors in these movies would've looked ridiculous with their bodies covered in feathers, they'd only just larger than a chicken, they wouldn't be nearly as fast and deadly as they are in the movies, and let's face it, real raptors were not as intelligent as our awesome Hollywood predators, not even close. We should be praising Hollywood for not deviating from the path of the original films and taking a sudden "creative" turn for the sequel like they always do and we always end up bitching about.

WATCH THE WHOLE TRILOGY! Or at least the first movie. You'll get this combination of two feelings:
1. Faceplaming embarrassment. If it didn't work the first time, how the heck will it work a second time.

Oh, plus all 3 were awesome (especially the first one). Like, it was because of these movies that I became a professional archaeologist between the ages of 6-8
The first one is a must see. Wonderful movie. The second one, though not as good as the first, isn't terrible. The third one sucks. Honestly, you don't have to watch the sequels, just the first one.

The raptor training can be explain by a logical way, which is in the book (you know the one written by Michael Crichton which is the one who inspired Spielberg), INGEN can modify comportments of Dino when they create them: in the book, thanks to genetic, they can, for example, make dino slower. Basicly they update them, so in the database of INGEN you can see: Raptor V3.0.3, for exemple.
So the logical explaination is that INGEN change the comportment of Raptor to make them more docile.
Still, I do not like it either.

As soon as I saw that they trained raptors in the trailer I just couldn't take it seriously. The other movies portrayed them as highly intelligent predators not pets. It just doesn't feel right. Although the end of the third movie with them giving the eggs back kind of set up a more docile side to them.

They still are intelligent predators, not pets. No movie has ever done this before, give it a chance when the movie comes out. It does make sense to me in one way, Chris Pratt was the first thing these Raptors saw when they were born and they see him as their packleader. 1.) Starlord's girl friend gets eaten by the new mutant "Indominus" Rex.
2.) Starlord jumps off a cliff in ultimate rage on a motorcycle with rocket launcher in hand. *Super slow mo, and dramatic yelling.
3.) Starlord falls into the mouth of the Indominus Rex and gets eaten.

Well, there's an explanation for such things in the JP lore that people now abuse all the time to excuse this sort of inaccuracy : In the creation of these dinosaur-replicas DNA of different origin was used to fill information gaps in the DNA-code.
gnhtd1 in this case it was either modern-day lizards of frogs that filled in for the lacking DNA. I can't remember which.
TimpsterTheDude I think it was both actually but I remember only frogs being mentioned in the first film - if this isn't a false memory of mine ^^.
The ones in these movies are yes, however the feathers make them seem less intimidating, so instead of using raptors they use a close cousin of theirs, cant recall the name exactly but it starts with a D (no dick jokes please)

Reading through some of these comments like: Are you guys that stupid?
The Raptor training comments bug me the most. Who cares? They aren't real, and the movie isn't based off the raptors. It's not called Raptor World, it's called Jurassic World. And as some know, most things in the Jurassic period weren't very smart because nothing was really evolved. Carnivores were killing machines, Herbivores were the food.
But these Raptors were remade, they were reborn into more intelligent creatures compared to what they used to be. So, they probably understand no harm is being done, and if they don't understand that, so what? If anything, this Raptor training is a good thing so they don't escape and endlessly murder the tourists in the park.
He should have gone like, "Ooh child, things are gonna get easier".

I think this was better than the film all together. At least this didn't disappoint me...

skylarscaling what I expected was a sequel that could finally live up to the original. What I got was a clichéd film with too many stereotypes, plot holes, n some pretty clumsy dialogue.
I really really liked the Velociraptor squad and Chris Pratt though n the rex+Velociraptor+domisaurus (that's what I think it was called) climax was awesome.
Overall though, it had too many issues to be fully redeemed. Its not an absolute godawful film, it's just ur average action flick but with too much emphasis on the overly clichéd characters n not enough on the action. Compared to the original, it's bad.
Perhaps I expected too much, but I thought this movie was a let down. Try watching it again n maybe you'll find more of its mistakes.

Owen: Hey! What the hell man! That doesn't even make sense!
Cannon slides out of the Idominus's head

2:Final battle
The whale thing eats Idominus
Claire: We did it!!!
A gunshot is heard and Owen collapses backwards clutching a wound on his chest. The scene zooms out and Charlie is now visible wearing a helmet, military jacket and holding a gun.

Raptors are not only animals but animals directly related to birds and birds can and have been trained to do many things so it isn’t out of the question that certain dinosaurs could be trained.
Oddly enough, the I. Rex at the end was epic
