    The bat cover makes it look like the most expensive Cricket bat.
    Another great review Marc. Again learnt something from you reviews. Cheers

    These Bat widths are absolutely pissing me off 😤😡. Great review as usual Marc. Keep up the good work

    Good honest review Marc. Leather cover is nice but I couldn't imagine rocking up to my local 3rd grade game wearing it over my shoulder, Bound to be sledged even by my teammates haha

    SS have really impressed me with their pressing in recent years though still get frustrated with the narrowing of blades, etc.

      I think if you see the traditional methods they use, it’s easy to see them shaving it on a weird angle without using a table planar. I has and sold a massive SS Maximus that sets a expectation only the bigger player shapes have marched. Not sure what is happening. Quality controller on strike

    Thanks for the precise and detailed measurements and actually accounting for the camber when putting through the gauge. Most just look at the gap at the top to determine spine height.

    SS top end bats are in a different league. Second best are Aussie made Graynicolls. Great review as usual Marc.

      Lol! Best of the best in price. Ridiculous price for a piece of wood. It could break anytime during or after the season..

      @@zzz2005 precisely mate.. very overrated.. you can find grade 1 sticks for under $500.. what possesses people to pay $1400+ to have a bat like Steve smith ( no sandpaper included) or kohli.. you are just lining the sponsored players pocket, and that of the bat maker.. not in MRF's case.. but you get my drift.. I would never spend over $500 for a bat.. but that's just me.. 🤔

    Lovely review mate! For that price I'm not super impressed, narrow blade is a pet hate of mine.

  • @zubinpadia2000
    @zubinpadia2000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review as usual Marc 👍 I'd like to get the bat cover without bat as price of this bat is not in my league, I agree with most here that there are great alternatives available to get same or close bat performance for a fraction of the cost. I'd be happy in investing my time in preparing on a promising bat which will eventually open up to give players performance

  • @jakeleach1997
    @jakeleach1997 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks good, but like every major bat manufacturer it’s ridiculously over priced. The price of willow has not increased that much over the last few years. You can still make a G1 bat for an absolute fraction of the cost of this.

  • @liamgriffiths3911
    @liamgriffiths3911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Seeing this on a more regular basis manufacturers are bringing out more top of the range bats on top of their existing top bats and charging more for them. In reality they aren’t made from better quality willow. In fact they are passing good quality willow off as their top 0.00000001% it’s a load of bollocks. The best of the best willow has everything looks, performance, density etc etc and if this bat had it all they wouldn’t be shaving weight off by narrowing the bat and other sneaky practices. I’m not saying this a a bad bat, it looks a really nice stick, but best of the best? No, worth the money? No. They think people are fucking stupid, give it a beautiful case, lovely stickers call it our ultimate top of the line bat and people will pay whatever the fuck stupid price we ask them for. I apologise for sitting on the fence with these comments

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I said in the video I expected more for the weight. 2.10

  • @ajfo
    @ajfo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lovely bat as expected. Not massive on the cover or the clear grip. Narrow blades generally don't bother me but given the level of this bat and the extent to which it has been narrowed it's far from ideal.

  • @liamgriffiths3911
    @liamgriffiths3911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    As fancy as that bat cover is, you wouldn’t catch me with it slung over my shoulder like a bellend , it would be in my bag with my other bats with regular good quality covers. I really couldn’t give the steam off my shit for stupid sales gimmicks like covers and stickers

    • @paulhobson2391
      @paulhobson2391 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The case looks like a runners up prize on a 70's game show.. positively puke worthy..🤢

  • @paulhobson2391
    @paulhobson2391 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review as always mate.. I have to say I'm a little torn on this.. is a stick worth $1500?? I'm sure it is to someone.. I'm chasing a retro df magnum and a similar bat in the ss turbo 333.. would I pay $1500? No bloody way.. your bat taps up alright, but so it should.. I think CA's morgs bat cover is a little classier to be honest.. this bat certainly looks the part, but it just doesn't have that " wow" factor.. and for $950, or full blown retail @ $1200- $1400 it should offer something extra special and to me, it's just another players grade SS.. but good luck to the owner I'm sure he'll be the envy of his mates!👍 oh but that bat cover, looks like something out of my parents travel luggage when we came here in 76..🤣🤮

  • @MichaelChunnz
    @MichaelChunnz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A nice bat but I'd still go a Gladiator, Maximus, or Limited Edition...which ever had more punch & ping under the mallet. Only 1 Super Select available in NZ at a super price...I also always wondered about the grip as it was a strange colour to me...now I know why so thanks for that Marc.

  • @jonathanknight4990
    @jonathanknight4990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Absolutely awesome bat cover. As many have mentioned, and from the ones I've seen they are overpriced and I think SS having so many models deemed G1 or players has something to do with that. I couldn't justify the price but it's a lovely bit of Timber

  • @bpm8cricket
    @bpm8cricket 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What I don’t understand is why these top of the line bats by big brand manufacturers are more expensive than their own players edition bats (what the US retailers market as players personal bats ..). So called players personal bats retails for approx US 550 - 650, and these top of the line bats retails for US 800 .. Aren’t the players supposed to play with best of the best willows ??

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a good question. Availability It’s all determined the volume of the order. If this represents the top 1% of willow and you manufacture 100000 bats then I guess it is rare enough. And still provides enough willow for all your pros and the rarer bats. It’s all theoretical to me as I would never buy these types of bats.

    Not the kind of bat, I ll pay 900 bucks . I mean common, I can guarantee , I can get a similar performing bat with similar shape and specs for 200£ or around 20K INR or may be cheaper. But SS charging for that bat 900 or 1000 $ AuD or whatever is looting in my honest opinion.

      @@CricketBatInfo Where do you reckon that diminishing returns start Marc? For me it's at about $600 AUD.

      For me personally....point of purchase it all goes downhill 🤪

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the brand. The $300 ST Smasher was not 100% worse than the $600 Black Edition. It’s all about the where the corners are cut making the bat and what the customer wants. A $300 3lb GN Giant will out hit a 2.9 Ultimate. But it will not suit the player if it’s too heavy or ugly for them

    • @CricketBatInfo
      @CricketBatInfo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then there be an be mis grades. If we are talking GN Australia the willow that says players is graded on performance.
