You need power cable because there is no battery in this. This speaker needs power. But you can connect this with your phone's Bluetooth, Wifi or NFC So you can control the songs by the phone itself.

I personally don't use any presets for bass. In the speaker you will get a mega bass option where you will get a much better bass effect.
