Hi Danielle! The brass piece you bought is a butlers tray. It originally also had a brush, that would have been used to brush crumbs, etc, off of a table. It's in an Art Nouveau design, which is VERY desirable, you scored on that piece! Lucky you. The table cloth is battenburg lace. Love your finds on your thrifts!

Danielle, try this with your plants- put a pot with drainage holes INSIDE the decorative planter. Place some stones on the bottom of the planter to make a space for drainage. The hardest part of this is finding a pot the right size to fit the planter.
I will try this! My dilemma is that I love decorative fancy things that aren’t big enough to put a plastic pot into! Haha
I have a white tabecloth and napkins that I received from my MIL that she purchased in Italy. It sets a lovely table!
The tablecloth lace is called battanburg lace. I think I have that same tablecloth that belonged to my mom. I like all the items you bought. Flowers draping out of the basket will look pretty. Enjoyed this video.

Hi Danielle You are the best! You stick to your plan to only have items that are staying with your period of your home. I am like you Danielle when it comes to plants. My husband and I rented a salon inside a hotel and he bought plants in 1979…we still have every one no thanks to me 😂. You can drill a hole in urns and different vessels as long as you use a small drill bit…plants need drainage. I have two butler trays…one handmade wood with a painted motif, and one silver. That one is big and pretty. I love the purple you put on the curtains, love those kind of tablecloths and my favorite was the basket. You are a good camera person…no making us dizzy and Garret is sweet to hold your stuff. ❤❤❤❤

It certain wasn't my idea, but those beautiful singleton plates work great as a drip "pan" under plants.

Keep the plastic pots your plant come in and then use the nice pots you find thrifting and put your plastic into the nice one and you use the nicer ones for catch pot that’s what I do then you water the plant just watch that you plant doesn’t sit in water very long cause it can rot the roots hope that works for you

Loved the basket and the butlers pan you just need the little brush that goes with it. (Hubby is a keeper carrying your purse and your treasures)👍
If you find a planter you love that doesn’t have drainage, just put a plant in the plastic pot it comes in that does have drainage in the “cover pot” when you water and it drains into the cover pot just empty it.
So it doesn’t sit in water for too long long or the roots will rot
Sherryh2479 is correct. The brass piece is a dustpan that would have had a brush with a brass handle. They are called silent butlers.
I might be incorrect but I call that type of design on your tablecloth cutwork. Nice haul I like the dust pan

Danielle, the green transferware casserole is gorgeous. I used green and red transferware at Christmas time. So maybe if it's on sale the next time you go, you can consider Christmas decor!

I loved that wooden shelf with the hooks on it, very unique. I'm the same about frames lol I have a room i store all my extra things in until I'm ready to place them and there's sooo many frames in there.. without art and some with art that will be removed😉 I'd love to have all 3 of the ones you pulled out!! I buy art that i love but don't like the frame and switch it out, I'm sure you do too. I also loved your 'ancestor' photo😉.. hope you end up with it, its beautiful! OMGOODNESS that caster set was stunning!!! Makes you want to splurge! The $800 piece.. yeah I'd love to see the home it was going to!! Can you imagine?! I think the basket will be great in other seasons too. It would be pretty with bittersweet branches in the fall and some plaid wool in the winter.

This was so fun. Thanks for showing prices. There was several things similar to what I have and it was nice to see what they were charging for them. The set of red dishes were gorgeous. I have a pair of my grandfather’s spectacles in a case like that. They are at least 75 years old. Thanks! I love your style of decorating.

You are right. Those prices are crazy. I've seen you in a goodwill. Are the prices better there? But yeah that's like consigning all over. I would never I wouldn't even go there because I would get upset that I couldn't and wouldn't pay those prices. But they do have nice things.
Goodwill is better if they don’t know what they have, but now they sell online or put anything they think is worth money in a glass case. It’s absurd! Lol

Oh, those barley twist candlesticks! Love the butler’s tray. I actually think the wear on the wicker basket adds to that feeling of aged pieces gathered over decades that is your house vibe. Love it.
