She went from "Daddy, who is that woman?!" because all she saw was a woman, who was not her mother, in bed with her mother's husband, to "you hurt my ma." I love the surrogate mother-daughter relationship that has grown here where Marsali originally was averse to Claire.

I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed Marsali this season. She's become one of my favorite characters! Excellent performance and I hope to see more of her next season!
I adore Marsali and her relationship with Claire. She’s fiercely protective of the ones she loves, and she’s becoming a good doctor. Also the actress does a great job.
@Spinning Back-Kick Claire also saved them with her modern values and cures. And she didn't force it on anyone they all came to her for help and her paper wasn't printed and spread by her. They are still all strong lionesses. I don't see how that takes away from what the men did. Also none of the men were there to protect them in the first place so they might as well do the clean up. Also Brianna wanted to go and they didn't let her. Those selfish psychopaths are the ones that brought all the trouble, it's his fault that his wife feared him so much that she tried to find ways to not get pregnant and bring a child to this world that would be abused.
Fergus and Marsali deserve more screentime. They deserve their own plot (which will happen with this new baby I guess). Even if they give them half the screentime Bri and Roger get it would be enough!
Oh, Lauren Lyle, you are a gem! You've brought your light and life to Marsali, and thanks to TPTB for giving you good lines to work with in S5. Now, let's have far more for Cesar in S6 as well! SVP, et merci!

At the end of the day his actions caught up with him. He was killed by a pregnant woman that he looked down on thought he was safe. She killed him knowing all his men were slaughtered
I hope Jamie and Fergus keep her safe after Lionel's brother threatened the Fraser family when Jaime "Dropped off" Lionel's corpse. Lionel and his gang are a big stinking POS!

Remember back, season one; they were teaching Clair to use a knife. Murtah told Dugal he thought the best weapon for a woman was poison. Dugal demurred that it wouldn't be useful in combat, but Murtah was right to a point. Hampered by mores of the times, tangling long skirts, weaker muscles, etc. sometimes a woman's strongest weapon is in waiting for the right time and a quiet hand.

Totally agree with everyone's comments. I've started watching the previous seasons again and noticed that Fergus doesn't get much attention now. He used to have the wittiest lines. It would be good to see him get a bit more especially lines other than MiLord or MiLady. His wife seems to outshine him now.
I wish someone would make a compilation video of the relationship between Marsali and Claire. From start to now, all scenes with Marsali and Claire and every scene where they talk about each other. How it all started with Marsali almost hating Claire to feeling that she is her mother.

Well clair is married to jamie the only father figure in her life and Clair is also the only mother figure her husband, Ferguson has so it would technically make her mother-in-law to marsali.

I love Marsali. Sometimes she makes me think of Jenny. Especially when she kills this guy here, given Jenny would've killed that messenger back in S1 if not for Murtagh showing up and ending her arguement with Claire.
