As a woodworker I’d take that heartwood in a minute. Made many pieces of furniture with white oak and I want the ray flecks. Great video. Happy Thanksgiving!
True, both piles are beautiful. The clear is just gorgeous and will make fine flooring. But the "ugly ducklings" have character and someone will turn them into a swan before it's over! Would make beautiful table tops for example. Happy Thanksgiving!
Beautiful oak! You girls do an awesome job creating your videos and narrating. The quality is very professional and impressive. I am always amazed by the videography.
The Lumber Capital Log Yard family deserves our respect. They have a good thing going because they work hard. There’s so much to be thankful for, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
You and Jade do a great job at the mill 👍 👍. You two are the cutest sawers I've seen, I watch alot of your videos. I've cut lots of trees for new highways and logging, use to be a cutter. You girls are strong 💪. I enjoy watching you girls and the boss felling trees, that's hard work.
What a magical place the log yard is. Unbelievable environment in the mountains, the beautiful young ladies running the mill. Want to go there some day.
Ain't no joke, you've got gorgeous OAK. Music wasn't bad either Bluegrass with a beat. I liked the cloud wrapped halfway around the mountain across the road as the video opened. You two Sibling Sawyers have become very professional is this part of growing up!!! You can both run a 45 mill AND you are showing great abilities in video graphics and broacasting. Two careers. Wow!! Too many folks your age can't do much more than save the Queen in a video game from the marauding monsters from the planet Zork.
Hello everybody, Hope you’re Thanksgiving is a safe and wonderful holiday with family and friends. Please drive carefully and sober, take care of each other and God Bless you and your family 👍🏼☕️☕️😊🙏
Its breathtaking to watch yourvideo ladies. You two sure do the family business proud. I can only imagine how amazing the whole family unit operates. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy health, food, and family time.
The little bit of wet served you well today. It brought out the true colours. That is an unusual white oak,, more brown, even reddish tones within. Oak has many species and subspecies and even the soils that grew them, north side or south side of the mountain affect the colourations and grain types. I too am a heartwood fan. Rays, tiger stripe, dark brown to near white, and near vertical grain often for strength/
The boards look fantastic. A little water spray helps the display. I like to see how close I can come, using past videos, to predicting how many boards a log will produce. Fun watch.
Great video. I remodeled my home years ago and put down some beautiful white oak flooring, but the size and quality of these boards will look amazing. Thanks, again!

@@lumbercapitallogyard I don't mean to quibble, but foresters refer to Quercus alba as White Oak, and Quercus bicolor as Swamp White Oak. 2 different species with different characteristics. I suppose regionally you call Quercus bicolor white oak. It is a bit of a problem with common names - that is why latin names are used by the scientific community. The long and short is you work hard at producing really good stuff from trees, and your videos are very informative.
I know a Carpenter who loves 2" thick live edge boards. He makes the edges of tables with it. I can get 5 times the price for these boards when I Mill.
Wow, that is some beautiful wood. I have Oak hard wood floors in my old house. After 60 some odd years it's still in great shape. Well worth the price. Oh, I really like the Banjo picking music. I know, country boy at heart. Thanks for the video. Yall have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow. 🙂
Sometimes when the heartwood gets just a little too knotty it's a relief to cut into some clears for a change. The clears get floored but the knotty find a place of honour and beauty.
Hey, you can't fool me! That isn't White Oak, that is Chestnut Oak, Quercus prinus/montana. I know, I know, it's in the White Oak group, but still. Chestnut Oak smells really good when fresh cut or split. That thick furrowed bark is the give away.
Great thumbnail ladies . Man those turned our nicely. Bossman definitely has eye for good trees for good lumber. I love installing sanding fonishing wood floors. Stay warm ladies and happy Thanksgiving you all
I wish I could get my hands on some of that knotty heart wood pile. That is some beautiful wood in my opinion. Hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving.
Nice grain running through that wood. I love walnut, but it's scarce here in Australia, Mango wood is stunning. Not sure if you can get it there in murica or not. Beautiful colour and grain throughout.
I would rather have the heartwood on my floor than the clear. However, this particular project is looking for a more refined rather than rustic look. Happy Thanksgiving to all the hard working family members at the Lumber Capital Log Yard!
As a journeyman carpenter/ fine woodworker. I would love to get some of that to build furniture with. But I would have to have it shipped 2600 miles across country. Nice wood good color and nice and clear. 👍
Beautiful boards coming out of there. 😊 Bet they ain't real cheap either, hard to find the extremely fine lumber you're putting out. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 y'all
Like Bob Taylor says ( and demonstrates), “all wood is beautiful” or something to that effect. You have a premium market for the most uniform timber, but a bit of research could help you market the distinctive difference of the heartwood at a profitable and mutually agreeable price. Good luck, ladies!
I don't know how you stand this slow cutting moving of the sawmill, guys. It demands the solid stamina skills, for me🙂. But the result worsts it. Beautiful wood and lumber. It needed to have a solid reputation to get such an order as you have, I think. Obviously, when a lot of work does not allow us to set aside time for coffee, we are forced to drink a coffee in the process🙂. And that is good, a lot of work - a lot of money. (Hi from Belarus.
