Wow, Father! This is truly one of the most... I don't even know what to call it! Profound is still to weak a word to use.
What you read touched deeply the soul trapped in this crippled body I tote around!
I was looking around to learn something more about St.James the Lesser but more in terms of general information like his bio.
Instead, I get insight into his heart of hearts!
Thank you for sharing this 2 years ago!!!
Who knows how many others this will help in the future?!

@sensisfidelium St James the less was NOT Jesus’s brother. The translation is closest to cousin. His father was Cleophis who was Joseph’s brother and therefore Mary’s brother in law. This is a Catholic channel… Mary is eternally a virgin and only had Jesus. If it was his brother, she would have stayed with him instead of John the beloved after Jesus died on the cross.

Ok so how is an ordinary young woman or married woman supposed to ruin our beauty and our bodies for Christ when at the same token we’re supposed to take care of our families and look beautiful for our husbands or boyfriends which is ALSO for Christ??? If I did so many penances to the point of destruction then I don’t see how anyone could be charitable.

Maritza Perrault I didn’t watch the video yet but I understand where you are coming from. I know some people are called to do more prayer, penance, etc, such as monks, while others are to live normal lives as husbands, wives, etc. All people should do penance, but how much really depends on what God asks of you. Most importantly we need to do God’s Will in the present moment and He will lead to to whatever is best.

I just finished watching the video.... and I understand that the message of the sermon is the value and power of prayer. Through our crosses and our prayer, we become closely united to Christ. I don’t think that he means we LITERALLY need to destroy our bodies but rather learn the truth about prayer and sacrifice. Also, I think he was preaching to a convent, and we know that nuns are usually called to a deeper prayer life than most of us. The important thing is to do God’s Will and don’t get caught up in fears and doubts because God loves you and will lead you toward what is good, whether that is marriage or a religious vocation.

Maritza, you don't get dolled up to find a boyfriend or husband for Jesus!!!!
I don't where you got your Cathechism from but somebody failed you miserably!!!
I hope you re-read what you wrote and find what's wrong with your comment on your own.
I pray, sincerely, the Holy Spirit will reveal to your heart what is (from a Christian perspective) wrong with your comment!
I'm not here to insult you in any way shape or manner, nor am I here to judge you.
That job belongs only to the Lord our GOD.
No, I come as your brother in Christ, like any brother would to help a brother or sister avoid getting a punishment from their Dad.
That's it. That's my motivation for my reply.
I don't want to see you have to pay for these words when you have to stand and account for every word you put forth in life at judgement day. And this tid bit is a doozy!
      God bless you, Maritza.
