Hello Ms. Monica and greetings from the USA. 28 year cancer survivor here….so please keep up your inspirational, positive energy and attitude. I know from personal experience that what you said about chemotherapy and radiation are both true…..it’s Hell on Earth and there’s no sugarcoating that. But, with a competent team of medical professionals, it saves lives, and I very much hope that includes yours Ma’am. BTW….you still are a lovely woman, inside and out. I don’t mean that in an inappropriate, icky sounding way, but just in the sense that your battle against this awful disease has been amazing. I respectfully wish you only the best Ms. Monica and hope you will update us on your progress and war against this disease which has been so difficult for you.
This is such a nice message! I am the Monica in the video, and it really makes this experience easier seeing all the positive and supportive messages ☺
You are a special person. I loved you immediately, and that is rare for me. Just a great soul. Sweetie, I’m 70 years old and a 13 year survivor of lung cancer. It sucks but I survived. I wish you the best and hope you get through this and have a very long and beautiful life. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Much love to you sweetheart.
Thankyou so much. I am the girl in the video and I really appreciate your beautiful message. Along with the great support network I have directly around me, the beautiful messages from people online has made the process that bit easier 😁
I am so sorry for all you have been through. I wanted to share with you that I had Colon Cancer at age 25…. It had spread to all my lymph nodes. I took Chemo for 2years. At the time the Dr. told me I was the youngest person they knew of with Colon Cancer. That was 42 years ago. Yes you heard right. The Drs.told me I would NOT make it even 5years. Praise GOD … I had a job to do still. Have HOPE! 🙏🏻🩷🌸🙏🏻🩷🌸🙏🏻🩷🌸
Cancer does suck, but life can still be beautiful. Stay positive, focus on the beauty around you (because Croatia is flipping beautiful) and share your story. Others could really benefit and be encouraged by your story. You are beautiful and strong.
Just this week I was dismissed by my male doc. He appeared annoyed when I expressed my concern for a swollen and protruding collarbone (Lymph nodes? Plus other symptoms). Yes, I plan on seeking a second opinion. Advocate for your own health! Thank you for your video. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Blessings. ❤
❤ I'm going through the same journey. Huge swollen lymph nodes in my groin and severe fatigue. I've been dismissed for a year and a half. I have insisted on a colonoscopy and endoscopy because my pain is abdominal. That is on Dec. 4th. People have to fight for themselves!!! Good for you.
Thank you Monica for sharing your story, you are blessed that people stepped up to help you in your time of need, how wonderful for you! Yes we need to be our own advocates.
Blessings to you, Monica, from another Monica in America. Hey, I have a theory that most Monica's have long hair. For fun, start paying attention and see if you agree. I want to thank you for your candid, honest video. I'm sure it will help many people. All the very best to you, my dear.
Thank you for sharing your story Monica. Your upbeat attitude and personality are quite interesting and I reckon it’s going to help others mentally. I’m glad you are getting good social support in Croatia.✌🏼❤️from Mid North Coast, NSW.
Bravo 🙌🏻 you are fabulous! We need to be talking a lot more openly and frequently about all forms of disease. This particular type is far too tabu. How are people to learn if no one talks about these things. God bless you 🙌🏻🩷🙏
Actually, what you consider older people survive cancer just as often as those who are younger because they have learned to take better care of themselves and do not drink. My Stepfather in his late 60's survived 4 major cancers, colon cancer (removed large part of colon and does not have a pouch), lung cancer (removed a lung), melanoma, and prostate cancer. He is now in his 90's and doing great.
Monica you are a beautiful person inside and out, I wish you all the very best, it's so lovely that you are able to help people via your Tiktok too and definately hugs from your fur baby is so calming.
So sorry you got this. Yes, you are young beautiful and healthy(no underlying diseases) and you could fight this but nothing is certain with cancer. Consider going back to Australia. Good luck, sending love and prayers ❤

I think the challenge with diagnosing colon cancer, especially before it gets to a more advanced stage, is that there are so many other GI diseases that present similar symptoms to colon cancer. Doctors put cancer low on the probability list and think the odds favor a non-cancer diagnosis. In the US doctors are super reluctant to recommend a colonoscopy, especially for younger people. Probably due to cost and insurance coverage. But there also seems to be a capacity shortage of doctors who can perform a colonoscopy. It’s been about 5 years since I was diagnosed with stage 3c rectal cancer. I had tumors in my lymph nodes as well. It was almost stage 4. So my surgeries, chemo and radiation have thus far cured me. I want you to know there are survivors of advanced colorectal cancers. The stoma is a blessing and a curse. I had my stoma reversed but I still have to go to the bathroom 6-8 times a day. So survivorship can have some quality of life issues. I also have neuropathy from Chemo. But most importantly I have life and I hope you have a successful treatment and a long happy life.

Hi Monica I think your frustration comes from the fact that the Dr. didn’t listen to you or he just brushed you off. It’s ok to be mad. I’m 55 and had emergency surgery 2 years ago because my colon stopped working and I have an ileostomy bag. It’s not just age. You keep talking my friend.❤
I have the exact same diagnosis. I thought I was dealing with the after affects of having Covid- mild GI symptoms. Went on for about a year. Blood tests were normal. Turns out I had metastatic colorectal cancer. Tumors in my liver, lymph nodes affected. Ain’t life grand.
Your positivity is amazing! I am living with a bag as well due to cancer. Mine was rectal Stage 2 but it was the location of it - they removed my anus and rectum. I am alive - for that I am grateful! Best wishes to you!

Hi, This is Monica from the video. I questioned this with my surgeon and he said an ultrasound would not be able to pick up a tumour due to the location. From memory he said there were too many other organs in the area to be able to go deep enough where the tumour is. During the ultrasound the doctor who completed the ultrasound really did dig around deep and cover all areas, so i do believe it was based on the location.

It is so sad that there are thousands of young women who had told their stories on TH-cam and then died of cancer. Most of them were in their early thirties who were married and had very young children. More research needs to be done.
@@annmarie1689 I have no idea, but according to the stats Croatia is very bad at treating this disease, second largest mortality in the EU, after Hungary.
@@monicaackermann7251 In 2022, Poland reported 330.5 deaths from cancer per 100,000 population, the highest cancer mortality rate in Europe.
