Suleiman comes back to the capital. Hürrem and Suleiman gets together years after. Sparrowhawk pledges loyalty to Bayezid. Two enemies Rüstem and Sparrowhawk comes together for Bayezid's future. Suleiman makes his decision about Rüstem Pasha. Bayezid gets an order to supress the Revolt of Mustafa the Impostor. Bayezid falls into Selim's trap and accused of supporting the revolt. Hürrem takes Suleiman on to be able to protect her son. As she fights to not to choose between her sons, Suleiman explains the heir of the throne. He summons Bayezid before him. Bayezid doesn't want to walk to his death just like Mustafa. Will he stand up against Suleiman? What will Suleiman decide about his son who he believes that he revolts at him?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I always wondered if Suleiman named Selim his heir had more to do with the next one after that. He seemed to favor Murad among his grandchildren heirs, perhaps because he was separated from both parental influences at such a young age and therefore would have been raised solely as an empire child rather than the by product of their parents desires.

12:14 I understand why Hurrem said that but it's useless to make this type of threat to Suleiman, she know and he know that she will never dethrone him no matter what he do ( I am not saying that Hurrem is a bad mother, she is a good mother she do her best because of the fratricide law even she has faults what i said before, but her addiction to Suleiman will ultimately not allow him to save his children from the Sultan either physically (Bayezid dead although it is a lot due to his stupidity) and Selim and Mihrimah (Selim was manipulated by his father and became a wreck due to the tragedies he went through and Mihrimah almost fell into self-destructive revenge, Suleiman did nothing to stop him it had to be his mother's rival which is even more incredible who explained to her the truth she didn't want to see about Suleimlan so she would stop and find peace in her own way).

I know Bayezid is stupid but in the situation where he confronted his father I would have had the same reaction (I would not have dared to eat or drink in front of him, in fact I would walk around with several bodyguards and provide some kind of rescue if I have to confront him in these conditions). I mean Suleiman you executed Ibrahim based on an obscure law when you promised never to execute him and you didn't give anyone an explanation especially Hatice unlike Beyhan's husband where there was a real warning and explanation and I say that hating Ibrahim (show). Then you promised that you would listen to Mustafa (even if he made a lot of mistakes) if he came alone to explain himself in front of you unarmed and you killed him without him explaining himself.

Well otherwise Bayezid as usual is stupid (for a change). I'm not happy that Hurician never had any consequences for what she did . Hatice is much better than her daughter and yet when she started making bad decisions, the consequences were heavy for her. Mihrunnisa took more than her for much less than that compared to Hurician ( and she was better than Hurician).

Well as long as she's alive, nothing can happen to Beyazid. Only one person can stop Suleiman right now: hurrem sultan. Suleiman has no one else in his life, she is the only person there and he would never ever do anything to her, this is not episode 35 but 125, things changed. She would never dethrone him but she would stop his orders. As valide kosem sultan did to Murad, same would happen now.

Seems like Suleiman forgot how the Ottoman succession system works...
In fact I think he can ( even if in history Suleiman didn't do that until Bayezid make a rebellion) but it could only make Selim in "apparent heir". Mehmed II make clearly his preference to Cem as he want him to be his successor against Bayezid II , and Bayezid II try to make heir the sehzade Ahmed against Selim Yavuz ( vicious cycle). Even if they were not definitive the true heir , they will have a little advantage against theis half brothers.
I wish hurrem was here when the sultan was executing bayazid so that she can go through what mahidevran went through
Guys, I got a question. Since Selim 2 wasnt a good ruler or a good prince, why did Suleiman choose him ? Why not Mustafa or Bayezid? Even Cihangir, but the people wouldn't have liked that , I guess.

I hate bayezeid the most from all the sons of Hurrem. He was hot headed and always defended hurrem, mirihmah and rustem knowing well that they were behind Sehzade Mustafa s death. Bayezeid has no honor and is a total mama s boy who thinks he actually deserves the throne. Relax Bayezeid, you are nothing compared to Sehzade Mustafa and you do not have the support of the Jannasaries. No one can compare to Sehzade Mustafa, if he became Sultan and the dynasty continued from him, there would still be an Ottoman Dynasty now. Hurrem was not the ideal mother, facts prove that she was not loved by the ottoman people, she was only loved by Sulieman, her children and rustem. A venetician envoy who saw Hurrem, wrote in letters she was not beautiful just an ordinary looking red haired short woman with greenish eyes. Mahidevran the mother of Sehzade Mustafa was loved by the ottoman people and both Sehzade Mustafa and her was praised and adored by many. @@lailabel5443 how is the British empire lasting?It matters who rules because a weak person can create a bloodline of weak people.Sultan Selim was a weak person that should have never been sultan.And most of the sultans after him was also incredible weak and lacked the power to rule.Empires have the power to continue for generations however monarchies get abolished because of selfish or weak rulers.The ottoman empire would have still existed today if the rulers after Sultan Suleiman had his ruling ability.I don't agree on him choosing hurrem and executing beloved sehzade Mustafa however Sultan Suleiman was never self centered and kept wealth for himself,he took care of the people he ruled over.Not like the kings of today.
