I think I figured out what finally gets under my skin about Murad. He listens to everybody, No matter how bad the idea might sound he still listens to everybody. Then uses one of those decisions. He never thinks for himself. He also never thinks long-term or for the continuation of the empire and this just keeps making him more paranoid. When you look at Suleiman he plans and thinks about his decisions very carefully. He also reads people and tries to keep the good advice around and never let's himself get swayed too much by people. Murad can't do that.

At this point the person Murad should be the most angry at is himself. The last time we see Murad & Farya together she was concerned for her life & she tells him Sanavber almost murdered her. But Murad does not take any extra steps to protect her or his baby princes even though Farya tells him that & he had started a war with Kosem. @@alexiaaaI THANK YOU! I also have no idea why people defend Ayse. Due to her stupid scheme to get rid of Farya she killed Farya's innocent unborn child, almost all of Kosem Sultana's contacts in the government, a lot of people who Murad executed for the attack on Farya who may have had nothing to do with it, and last but not least, A LOT of innocent men, women and children who died in the fire in Istanbul. Then she kills her two oldest children. I don't have any sympathy for Ayse. I do have a little sympathy for Ayse's maid, Narin, who had to go along with these dumb ideas Ayse had because Ayse was her mistress.
How? It was Ayse that murdered her own children, not Farya, And Ayse murdered Farya's unborn baby. Farya should never have told Asye that she was going to be executed, but she did not intend any harm to Murad's children and was devestated whe they died. It is also important to remember that Ayse was never Murad's wife, rather she was a concubine that bore him 3 children. So Murad could have had multiple favorites in the harem and other concubines who could have bore children to Murad. So it never really seems to make sense why Ayse is so jealous of Farya and why she is so implacably hostile to her. Perhaps right at the beginning, the show should have had Savanber in the harem already as one of Murad's favourtes at the same time as Ayse Sultan being there as his chief consort.

I mean y'all were the cause of death for her daughter & many other family members and now her other sons are locked up pending death too so of course she'd go crazy against the heartless scemers.
Kosem never says it was to avenge Geverhan or anyone else. Rather she says it was to get them out of the way so they couldn't interfere with her enthroning Kasim, and she saif it's because they were trying to turn Murad against her, which in Farya’s case wasn’t true. Although Silahatar did get Murad to change the succession laws & he got Murad to execute Abaza Mehmet Pasha, one of Kosem’s most loyal men. Ghulbahar also told Farya that Kosem might murder her because Kosem couldn't stand her son loving someone more than he loved her. Farya didn't have anything to do with Geverhan's death, that was all Silahatar, Murad, Atike & Kosem. And realistically, Farya didn't have that much to do with the deaths of Ayse & Ayse's children either. Ayse, Murad & Ghulbahar were the main culprits there, & even Kosem herself let Ayse see her children alone when she shouldn't have.
Sorry but I don’t see how Kosem saved her family. She is partly at fault for the deaths of Osman & Mehmed because she put Mustafa on the throne first instead of Osman, then she triggered the rebellion that led to Osman being murdered. She is the main reason for Murad's death because she orders his doctor to stop giving him the medicine for his disease & she murders his loved ones here which leads to the death of Murad’s baby princes since Farya isn’t there to protect them. She plays a part in Geverhan's death because of the depressing talk she gives Geverhan just before Atike’s wedding. She is the main cause of Kasim's death as she murdered Farya & Silahatar & tries to dethrone Murad which causes Murad to execute Kasim. Kosem actually orders the execution of Ibrahim. And she plays a part in the deaths of Ayse's children since she ordered that Ayse can see her children alone, when she shouldn't have.

Agree, even though Farya should never have told Ayse about the death warrant. Ultimately Ayse alone is guiilty as she murdered her own children to hurt Murad & Farya. Had Murad banished Ayse to the old palace after her first betrayal then Ayse couldnt have done it. Likewise, Ayse couldn't have done it if Kosem had not inexplicably ordered that Ayse could see her children again. Silahatar had an opportunity to persuade Ayse she wasn't going to be executed and he could have stopped her from seeing her children but he failed. Silahatar then told Lalezar Kalfa to make sure she did not leave Ayse alone with the children but she failed.
Silahatar is also responsible. Check out his epic fail to stop Ayse seeing her children even though he knows Ayse had found out about the death sentence and he can see there is a massive risk and he was in charge of security. Would never have happened if Balibey, Zulkifar or Iskender had been in charge of security instead of Silahatar.
@@sarahsan5946 Sorry but I beg to differ on that point. I am not saying Silahatar is the only person at fault, however he is partly to the blame for what happened. While the real Kaya's mom didn't poison herself (and her siblings) leaving her daughter behind, her fate wasn't exactly happy either. She was first married in her early teens (11-13 y.o.) to some older pasha, but that didn't last. She was then married at least once (but, could be twice) and reportedly didn't like her last husband at first, going as far as taking a dagger to his throat on their wedding night. Eventually, things got better between them and she got pregnant, giving birth to a healthy baby girl. Unfortunately, her placenta got stuck, pushing onto her heart, and despite healers' and midwives' best efforts, they had been unable to remove it. For three days and three nights, Sultana Kaya suffered till she finally passed away. Very poor story telling. Having Farya & Silahtar die that way at that moment, is disrespectful to the characters, the actors, the viewers who liked them & were invested in their story arcs. Plus it makes no sense. This also risks making Kosem & Kermankes look like silly pantomime villains. While they had never blanched at killing before, Kosem & Kermankes had never been cowardly murderers or traitors. While I sort of get why they killed Silahtar, Farya hadn't done anywhere near enough to warrant this. She wasn't trying to turn Murad against Kosem. Farya even saved Kosem’s life by exposing Sanavber as a spy. Farya had also saved Murad and Atike's lives. Kosem also hurts Atike here by killing her husband & her best friend. Kosem also deprives her 2 newborn grandsons of their loving mother. It also paints Murad in a bad light as he fails to get justice for his wife or best friend. Murad also failed his pledge to protect Farya. After everything Murad and Farya had been through together, they deserved at least some happiness for a while to bring up their 2 baby sons; & Farya deserved a much better ending. Despite her faults & mistakes, Farya is very brave, loyal, honest, good hearted & a good fighter so she deserved a more heroic death. Likewise, Silahatar was a great warrior and a loyal soldier & friend to the Sultan so he too deserved a heroic ending. Plus there are no moving farewell scenes, very little mourning, no funeral, and no grave site visit, which disrespects everything that had gone before. Epic miss from the writers. These deaths are such poor story telling, the most comparable example I can think of is the "finger poke of doom" from professional wrestling, which helped cause WCW to lose the Monday night wars against the WWF.

You have made an excellent recap of how this miniseries went off the rails. I totally lost interest after the murders of these two, especially after the reconciliation of Murad and Farya. Whether or not jealous Kosem had Farya scrubbed from the records is a long, boring debate, though historians tie her to a princess he did marry, who did exist in the harem, whose name I have forgotten. I can't imagine that Kosem is what I would call comfortable in the next life for murdering the majority of her children and their closest loved ones for her own power. Elections are a much more sane way of governing. I think Ahmed would be ashamed of her when meeting her again in the next life, since she did not protect their children like he asked of her before he died, but murdered most of them.

I Totally agree with you
@shirereeve287 Farya told Ayse that Murad had issued a death warrent for her. That's why she killed herself and took her children with her.
Thank goodness! Ayse had been avenged! Well deserved Farya!
Child murderers are not avenged.
Sorry but Kosem would never have done anything to avenge Ayse after what Ayse did. In fact Kosem would be glad Ayse is gone. And this clearly has nothing to do with Ayse anyway.
Sorry, nope. Ayse wasn't avenged here. It was Bayezid who was avenged, not Ayse. Gulbahar & Sinan played Ayse like a violin from the get go. They stoked Ayse's petty insecurity, jealousy & vanity to provoke her into a death feud with Farya which Ayse never had any chance of winning. Once Gulbahar tricked Ayse into murdering Farya & Murad's unborn baby, Ayse was on borrowed time. I mean...yeah

i've only actually watched a few of these so far and I'm not ashamed I'm hooked the costumes the acting the writing fantastic. And that is from a writer's point of view well done.
It's very curious we don't see any of the major characters in shot with Farya or Silahatar in the death scenes. Either they are not in the same shot at all or in Silahatar's case we can't see his face when he is killed. In Farya's case, the actual death happens off screen. The scene afterwards where she is found hung by a rope doesn't look real. Makes one suspect the actors playing Farya & Silahatar may have left suddenly forcing the writers to throw this together at the last moment. The scene where Farya is starting to be strangled looks like a typical teaser leading up to either (1) someone storming in at the last moment to save her or (2) Kosem gliding into the room when she is at deaths door and threatening her. If the actors had left suddenly, that would also explain why so many things here don't make sense e.g. why Farya was wearing different nightgowns, why they left the door open when strangling her, why didn't Murad, Madame or Atike rush over to Farya's body to cut her down or to grieve, how was Kermankes able to sneak past Murad's guards & agahs in the palace and then past the concubines in the harem wiihout being noticed, why wasn't Murad at Galata tower with Silahatar, how did they know Murad wouldn't be with Silahatar or Farya, why would they risk doing this before making sure Gulbahar was fish food in the Bosphorus, why would they pretend Farya had hung herself when they had the Gulbahar cover story & why weren't the baby princes in Farya's chambers with her. Not to mention there was no build up to this and these murders (particularly Farya) aren't consistent with Kosem or Kermankes' characters so far and it's a bit too much to believe they would stoop to this at this point.
Then later........Turhan shall sent Kosem her regards😅
She won't sent her rather she will reply her regard smartly. But yeah rest in peace Kosem, the most powerful queen of Ottoman empire.

I never realized how similar show Kosem and Murad are in personality and temperment.

Sultana Kosem saved her family but Murad wants to destroy because of greed for power. Sorry but I'm with Kosem.
🙄🙄
If she could have physically put her self on the throne, she would have unalived all of her children instantly!!

Farya is far from guilty in this
Agree, even though Farya should never have told Ayse about the death warrant.

She was only 26 years old, a year younger than her father when he died; never getting the chance to know her only child.
His sons all died in real life, he only had three daughters left when he died one of them was Kaya who died 1659 & one was rukiye sultana who died 1716. The last daughter was hanzade who lived to 1680, she never died as a child as the show depicts. Unfortunately a lot of Murad children died young

Farya is a made up character anyway.
Sorry that's not completely accurate. Murad had a 2nd Haseki late in his reign whose identify is disputed; (likely Semsisah Sultan - a Christian Princess from Georgia whom Murad married0.
Very kind of you. Thank you.Yes Ahmed would be appalled by what Kosem has become. If you haven't seen them yet, I encourage you to watch the scenes late in the season where Kosem visits uncle Mustafa in his chamber and where Anastasia appears to visit Kosem.
