When disconnecting first switch off the charger by pressing on the central button and blue light will be on, otherwise it will remember the stage and power on when u reconnect to the wall socket. I have this for the past 2 years
A 1yr old battery going completely flat when the indoor light was left on, is very strange and is cause for concern for other faults. I would check the rate of charge of the alternator. On the C7, I bought mine more than a year ago. I always keep my cars on trickle charge when I leave it for long periods. During the pandemic, the C7 failed to charge all my cars. I bought another charger to replace it. I recently checked although the charger does display its lights but it is not charging. Only emergency charging (red battery indicator) is available. Further checks showed that the inline fuse has blown. Replaced it and now it is functioning as usual and is able to detect the battery correctly. This is a bad design where the charger gives a wrong indication especially for the less technically inclined. You cant select 12 or 214V, the charger will automatically detect it. The Emergency Charging mode is to allow for the charger to provide current to the car should you remove the battery. This is to preserve any settings of the car electronics when the battery is removed. It is a tricky charger. Not as easy as other simpler chargers. It is also a lot costlier than the others.
