One word... FIRE!!!!!! Individually they all shined with their parts. The harmonies, WOW! The rap duo, FIRE! I understand what Chiquita was going through. When you are singing alone you naturally raise the octave slightly. when you are supposed to stay at the same octave but someone else comes in at a higher octave you tend to match theirs tone. I think your point about it not been about highlighting themselves but more on how the group perform is fundamentally wrong. Whether the group performs extremely well or extremely poorly, it doesn't matter to each of them individually. What is important is, they must show that they are good enough themselves to not be eliminated. That is the key.
