- This is one of three "mobius loop" wooden racing roller coasters. TPR visited during our Mexico Tour and during our ERT, they let us get the "full credit", meaning they did not stop us in the station to unload, but instead ran the train right through the station so we can get both sides in ONE ride! This coaster was built in 1964. Its an icon in the city, by its story, uniqueness and location in Chapultepec, a bigger park than Central Park NYC.
Right now the park is closed due to a fatal accident in a loop coaster derailing ( similar to the accident and type of coaster as in Canada ).
They are selecting a new concessionaire to operate the park since is property of the government. The future of this coaster is uncertain and depends totally on the new plan and the decision of both parts agreement. Hopefully they will keep it.

This is just like a roller coaster we had in my hometown growing up, but it wasn't taken care of properly and now it's just rotting away. Good to know there is one like it in Mexico!

Tristemente el fin llego para este gran juego con la llegada del nuevo Parque Aztlan. En fin, todo tiene su ciclo !!, buenos recuerdos.
Les Recuerdo que Este tipo de montaña Rusa es un poco rustica y ruidosa, y eso la hace Única, por alguna razón fue Hecha de Madera y ese Ruido es algo que la caracteriza. .. Aquí en Santa Cruz California hay una Igual y la gente no se pasa criticando el ruido.. Mejor disfruten el momento que es lo mas importante..
I can see elements of Colossus here. That makes sense since this coaster was the inspiration for Colossus when it was built in 1977-78. It’s a shame the park removed it. I wish it still stood for nostalgia and for respect. For if this coaster did not exist Colossus may have never been.
The drops on this coaster appear to have some pretty shallow angles. Just eye-balling it, it looks like the steepest drop is no more than 40 degrees or so. Still, looks like a fun ride.

Exacto, además, la Montaña Rusa es un clásico a nivel mundial. Es obvio que hay mejores en el aspecto de velocidad y descarga de adrenalina, pero si esta tiene su reconocimiento, no es en vano.

@Fireball1890000 I believe it’s because you don’t actually go around twice normally, this was filmed during exclusive ride time so the park aloud them to go around both tracks in one ride, normally you would stop in the station and get off before you can do the second track. So since you only ride half the ride each time, that’s why I believe people don’t consider it the longest

La feria de chapultepec no puede ser comparada con six flags, ya que la feria de chapultepec hace alusion a las ferias tradicionales de nuestra pais, por otra parte six flags es mas bien un franquicia mundial denominada parque de diversiones por lo tanto ninguno es mejor que el otro ya que los 2 son el mejor en su estilo. Ademas esa gente que dice que six flags es mejor que el aburrido de chapultepec es por que no sabe apreciar lo que produce su pais. Six flags es de origen extranjero, no estoy diciendo "dejen de ir a six flags y vayan a la feria de chapultepec" solo estoy diciendo hay que ser imparciales e igualitarios. Si tienes la oportunidad de ir a six flags hazlo es una experiencia muy divertida. Pero si tambien tienes oportunidad de ir a la feria de chapultepec hazlo, tambien es una experiencia muy divertida. Los 2 son muy bueno y cualquieria ofrece un gran dia de diversion familiar, con amigos, o con la pareja.

TPR I really appreciate your videos you post on here. I enjoy every single one with Robb's commentary. I myself am a huge roller coaster junky and love going around the country to the biggest, baddest theme parks (Cedar Point being my favorite) and really wish I could go around the world to experience different theme parks. Seems like “Montaña Rusa” is translated into “Roller Coaster”.
This is an IAD classic.Both the Racer and colossus were made by IAD(defunct company).Both had strong negative and both tweaked to lower negative.Such a shame!

i have to wonder how they got the brakes to cooperate and allow the train to go right through the station? my only guess is the RCS is setup to allow it otherwise there are ways to do it but not exactly the safest way to do it, which i wont mention here

what did you think of this compared to other racers? without both trains going, I'm sure you lost some of the excitement of actually racing. also, was there much airtime on the drops? it's hard to tell if they're steep enough or taken fast enough from the vid. also, thanks for posting! great camera work!
