Idk, I have two STIs, one was autocross and heavy driving to 140k and the other is a 2004 with 60k miles. The 140k STI was perfect until a timing belt slip. A stock EJ257 isn't that much and even repairs, bushings, new dampers, engine mounts, and all the not required stuff was like 2k.
It doesn't matter how hard the engine was run if you have no crashes and the frame isn't bent. A built engine is a risk if you're expecting it to last 40k miles. I drove 100k at 19-23 PSI on a stock block and it was still getting 370-430 WHP.

I’m considering selling my modified WRX. Question for you, did you have to smog your car for the new buyer as part of the sale? I’m in CA, i’m pretty sure my car would pass the sniffer part of the smog check but not the visual. Because of that I’m thinking I would need to part it out.

@@Squadrafoglio Awesome, thanks for the info. I have a 15WRX so I guess if I do sell it I’ll have to find a smog place that can overlook the visual part haha. Sick new car by the way!

I never buy used cars. My very first car was 1977 Porsche 914 2.0 5speed.
