He sees that the husband is doing a noble job, and based on his many years of experience I bet he has seen many women who try to keep calling their partners when they're busy working. It's not just women. My ex boyfriend had no respect for work in general and he didn't understand why I needed to focus at work. He would get upset that I didn't text him during the day, but he wouldn't do it himself, he would just expect it from me. And then he was getting upset if I don't pick up once, and when it happened again he would want to have a conversation about this issue. When I couldn't pick up he always expected an explanation as to why I didn't pick up. He would often say stuff like "it's just work, don't pay attention to it. You need to give attention to the things that actually matter, which is our relationship." For one and a half years he always got upset if I miss one call, and would mention this often, even if it happened once or twice a month in general. God, that was so tyring.

Some people need more communication than others. It goes both ways. Sometimes you just want that little text to show they thought of you during the day. With other people, you're like "Please stop sending me emojis! I don't even know what that means..." It's really hard to strike a perfect balance because technology changes so often; There's no real etiquette to how much communication should be in a relationship.

This is either a dude that knows he's about to be bothered for no good reason or a fluke he answered his phone. So many times have people tried to show an example of something and it not work out when a 3rd party is involved . It's crazy annoying lol. But the dude didn't sound surprised or worried that a man was calling from his wife's phone! Even if I was having problems with my husband/boyfriend and I heard a complete stranger of another gender call me?.. I'd be worried something bad happen to him and they used the emergency option on his phone to contact me.
