thank god this video exists, found the same thing "AIM 2-7x32" for Mosin Nagant on a lokal online flee market and could'nt find any info on it. Thanks for explaining stuff about it.
Yup, that's pretty much it. With a bolt action it's a little easier to get on paper because you can remove the bolt, look through the barrel at the target, and then get the scope to look where the barrel is pointing. Always fun
I think he means to say that you can remove the entire rear sight base after you tap out the pin, and there's a standard dovetail mount underneath it. Haven't tried it on mine yet, but I've seen pics/vids and can definitely see the dovetail under the base.
No problem my friend. Burris just came out with a 2-7x32mm scout scope as well, but you can't go wrong with Leupold. Especially since the scout scope idea is not really meant for precise benchrest shooting, but rather quick target acquisition.
Maybe if you take a close look you can punch the 2 pins that hold the rear sight assembly off, with the barrel protector removed tap the assembly off its rail there's a 11mm rail right there almost perfect size to mount those rings…. And keeps the scope closer to the rifle, less parts that can come loose too. Sometimes the pins are soldered two of mine were the others I have were not mounts nice and close to the barrel
I did remove the rear sight. I bought a Mosin-specific mount and had to drill an extra hole through the rear sight base to install it. Then I used loc-tite to make it more secure. It's done really well and has not shook loose from the recoil.
Thank you man. I ordered one also, so I hope I get a better one than you did. I want mine for a Mauser rifle with a scout mount. I didn't want to spend the big money, but if it turns out that the Aim scope is bad, I'll spring for a Leupold VX-II scout scope from the Leupold Custom Shop. Anyway thanks for the quick response.
get a brass stacker mount and is the scope a ffp or sfp reticle if it is a second focal plane reticle thats why your point of impact is off if you adjust the magnification on it after it is zeroed it changes the point of impact thats why you always want a first focal plane scope although most places dont say which one theirs is
Yea no worries man. And nice Ive been so tempted to pick up a PU nagant but cant justify spending $500 for one.. so many other guns I( can pick up for that.
I had the mil dot aim on my mosin.... surprisingly it held zero.... Glass was good, edges a bit fuzzy but overall good cheap option. GET GOOD LOW RINGS.... SPEND THE MONEY ON RINGS....
Honestly, I did not really like it. It seemed to be all over the place and the clicks did not match up well with the actual movements in POI. Maybe I was just having a bad day at the range. If it happens again, I'm putting my old fixed power scout scope back on.
what ive seen their bolts don't hold well, something like that I would go to a bolt/nut shop and get grade A bolts. The cheap ones at lowe/home depot made in china

Could you show what it looks like through the scope to show how much eye relief it gives off.

Just a heads up the tube is bigger for more adjustments.. The objective being bigger is for more light. Looks like a fun set up.

I have always wanted to get a mosin...might have to make some room in my safe! Sweet video.

Thanks brother. Definitely make some room for one. They are very fun and inexpensive to shoot.
Thanks bro. I appreciate the clarification. Already have new low mount rings on the way from eBay lol.
Thank you so much. Welcome to the channel
use a small thin aluminum shim under the rear scope ring between the scope and the ring and tighten the ring down with loctite..
maybe..
Yea no worries man. And nice Ive been so tempted to pick up a PU nagant but cant justify spending $500 for one.. so many other guns I( can pick up for that.
Hey man, I'm liking your vids - subbed!
Thanks bro. I have a scope on my WASR AK but it's more out of necessity than anything else. It doesn't look too bad.
who is the seller on ebay from whom you got the 91/30 mount?
So how does it work now that you have changed out the scope? Can you give us a new update please?
I had the mil dot aim on my mosin.... surprisingly it held zero.... Glass was good, edges a bit fuzzy but overall good cheap option. GET GOOD LOW RINGS.... SPEND THE MONEY ON RINGS....
I haven't had a chance to zero and shoot the rifle yet. Will do a follow up as soon as I have a chance.
Would like to get the scope mount
I know I'm WAY late to the game, but what scope did you finally settle on. I was gonna get that Aim scope, but now I'm not so sure.
Shannon Benson I ended up going back to the pistolero scope
Thank you. I did screw that up in the video, even though I KNEW it was the other way around. lol
Info please on where you but the scope mount
you got a 50 MOA base and rings with those rings thats came with the scope:) lol

lol. I already replaced the rings. Otherwise I'd have to aim at the feet in order to hit the chest.
its funny because im going from the exact same NCStar scope to the exact same Aim Sport scope lol.
What rings did you use, and how are they holding up so far?
what kind of scope mount is that
Ash Wood looks like Howling Raven to me
What was the 30$ scope called again?
I've seen AIR SPRING PISTON air rifles EAT HIGH DOLLAR SCOPES when a CHINESE SCOPE will take the pounding all day long !
What rings did you buy?
Do you have the user name on ebay for the mount? Store name? Mount name? etc.. thanks in advance
It's "michaelfordltd2"
thanks again, cant find him on ebay. I like that mount. Did it hold up to the recoil of the mosin?
It does hold up pretty well. Sorry, guess he might be taking a break from eBay or something. Brass Stacker is supposed to make a good one too.
what ive seen their bolts don't hold well, something like that I would go to a bolt/nut shop and get grade A bolts. The cheap ones at lowe/home depot made in china
what was the cost on it?
yes
Had the ncstar scope. Parallex is horrible. That being said it is good enough for the range not good enough for outdoor
Just some inexpensive 30mm rings I found on eBay.
Yes you like it? lol
yes i like
I paid 600 dollars for my stupid mosin nagant PU scope. Dam i am stupid.
