A few comments to this video indicate that you may not have the prober mixture which is why the resin is a little flexible. The instructions you read said "equal parts by volume" while you did equal parts by weight. I have done a little resin pouring also and it seems that volume is more important. My instructions also say that you may end up with more of one than the other when the bottles are finished and that this is normal, even if you are measuring correctly.
Forgot...there is one other way to avoid air bubbles but I doubt you have it. I have a vacuum chamber and, when I pour the resin I put it in the vacuum chamber and that eliminates every single bit of air. When you take it out of the vacuum chamber, pour it very very slowly or you will get more air bubbles. The heat is the easiest way to bring the bubbles to the top and pop them. Whoever told you it was easy had lots of experience with it. It is easy for people who are used to working with the stuff. The first couple of times it is NOT easy. Just remember that, if you want to put glitter, a charm, or anything in what you make, pour a little resin in the mold and let it partially cure BEFORE adding anything. Otherwise, it will sink to the bottom and your item won't be so smooth and shiny. Once it partially cures, add whatever you like and then finish filling the mold and poke whatever you have added to make sure it is partially stuck in the first layer so it won't decide to float to the top if there is air under it.
HI Yvonne. Clear Cast 7000 is flexible. 7050 is rock hard. :)
Serously, kiddo, if you need help with the resin, I'll send my phone number to you on FB. I don't want to post it online. However, it looks like you only made one mistake and that was not getting the proportions exact. Resin is finicky stuff.
It's a learning experience so enjoy as you go. Don't sweat the small stuff. I'm sure everyone who first started had some that bend and had bubbles and many other little things that were not perfect but it's the joy in experimenting that you never want to lose. Great job.
You're so humble and pleasant to listen to. Please stay the way you are.
I'm not sure if others have said this. My grandson son liked the hearts cause they look like mine craft 😂😂😂
Resin scientist.....I know they look a lot better in person but some of them are so cool & beautiful.
Its likely flexible due to the transparent color additive. If it is still tacky, best way to fix it is by applying a coat of UV Resin and cure it to get a hard finish.
I've got some old needless syringes left over from giving pet medicine to kittens. A squirt of the dish soap water into those molds would help. You can usually buy the syringes from a farm store. Not sure if they sell them from pet stores anymore. Don't go to those places.
I've noticed with a lot of youtubers, they tend to talk so loud and they are so hyper. Which can get extremely annoying. I love your videos. You seem so humble, funny and sweet. Thank you for sharing. :)
I've been using resin for about 4 years now. I've never used Ice Resin, I like Little Windows.
1) could be too much of the dye
You have no idea how much fun I had watching you...reminds me of my first experience with resin. Be careful stirring when you add things to the resin. If you get some of that glitter or flakes to the bottom of the mold, it can actually stick out a little when the resin is cured. That's why you put in one layer and let it partially cure before adding things to it.
Everyone freaks when they have bubbles, I actually like a lil bit of bubbles it adds character. I do heat gun some but I don't stress to get them all out
Thank you so much for letting us (me) see this from the beginning to the final demolding/unmolding process.
You are so so so talented!!! My first ones were neat, but NOTHING as good as yours!!!
I love you. You've wrapped everything. You're so versatile. I'm new and haven't strayed far from just rocks and cords.
The blue emerald cut gem and the lilac shiny gems were my favourite! Thanks for sharing x
Thanks for another fab tutorial! I love that you experimented with adding glitter, pearl-ex etc, I was worried the resin wouldn't cure, so hadn't tried it myself yet. Keep up the great work! :)
