Would have been good if you showed our you connected and repaired the alternator wire, was is soldered, was it crimped, did you use any heat shrink on the repair, could you have not removed the light to give you more access to that wire, which would have saved all the other work, and please tell the owners you have to properly bleed the fuel pump after.
I got the exact issue in the exact same place took one look at it and thought how am I going to get to that , I didn't take the last fuel filter housing of tho, I'm going to give it another go when I've got a full day free, hey atleast I got to change the Ebay aftermarket fuel filter for a real one. Does the wire head back under the engine with the harness? I used a hand primer to primer the filter and it started on the button.

You have to take a few bits off around the alternator to get to it and follow the wire back to it, if that makes sense
