    Very nice, good to see the old boy doing well and enjoying his new house. I’ll definitely keep an eye out on those backings.

    I have probably said this before but just in case I haven't, I seriously appreciate that you don't cuss on here and theat you are soft spoken, basically you don't see the need to be obnoxious, which I am very grateful for. Love Sonic's upgrade. I do have hammocks for my lizards and they love them, but I have a lot in their enclosures (crested geckos). They love to hunt from them. I have hammocks and bridges in with all of my adult snakes too. I like to give them multiple levels to climb on, as well and texture and smells, lots of hides. That's just me though. I do love your set ups! I know we just saw them but I hope your little family is doing well.

      I try my best not to but I can let it slip from time to time. I used to use a lot of pet shop ready gear as well and it works fine, I just appreciate the more close to nature feel nowadays. Thanks Amanda, family are doing well :)

    Looks great! Can't wait till my guy gets his upgrade! Don't let reddit see that sand lol! Love the spinifex, gives it more of a natural look!

      Hahaha 😝 they’d have a field day! Almost ten years old and Sonic has been on sand his whole life with a great bill of health from the vet. Funny that?

      @@BeachesScalyBeasts My guys close to eight, and he too has been on sand his whole life! Who gave them the idea sand was bad? They'd have a mental breakdown if they went to central australia!

    Can't go wrong with the URS enclosures I got 6 for $300 second hand didn't spend much fixing them got my westerns in one, nsw blotchys in another my Vic lowlands in another and my Tablelands Cunningham's in another two empty ones ATM and I noticed in your last video the Ironbark tubs? That's Rob right?

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a bargain! Good score. Yeah they were robs tubs. I’m not sure if he’s still bringing them in.

    Fantastic build mate! Really catching the essence of the Australian bush environment. I have a question about the placement and power output of your UVB tubes and bulbs. Do you measure the output when determining an appropriate basking spot as to not overexpose an animal or do you use the data sheets for the lights? I have recently fallen down the rabbit hole of “Ferguson Zones and UVB output”.
    All the best!
    Nick from Sweden.

      Hi Nick! I usually go of the safe distances recommended on the box. Something else I do is I don’t run my uvb all day. I tend to run them for between 4-6 hours. The animals learn when it’s available and use it while it’s there. Save on over exposure, heat, electricity etc with the T5’s. That’s why I incorporate the leds in most cases to make up for the daylight length.

      I really need to invest in a UVI meter.

    May U know where to buy this enclosure (Box)

      Hi Rex. You’d have to ask your local pet shops if they can order them in. They are called “URS large moulded vivarium with some” if you are to search them on google.

    Where can someone in the US get that dreid grass, sounds like you're calling it spinnerflex! Thanks

    • @amandastakeonit7402
      @amandastakeonit7402 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spinifex, is an actual plant in Australia. We do not have it in The US, but I am sure you can find something you would like. You can even check places like Michael's or any craft and hobby store. Otherwise, you might just google wild grasses for sale (I think you will have to ensure that you will not be planting them because of the risk of envasive species spreading). You could look on sand dunes, deserts etc if you wanted to collect some yourself, but please remember to let it rest and treat it before putting it with your animals. Some animals can get sick from exposure to certain plants so you might check that too. I hope this is of some help to you.

    • @BeachesScalyBeasts
      @BeachesScalyBeasts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t believe you can get it in the US. But as Amanda said there could be other options for you. Sometimes I’d find dried grasses, wrap a zip tie around the base of a clump of grass, and cut it off forming a nice tuft. Good to leave it in the sun in a black plastic bag to heat it up and flush out some bugs etc.

    I hate those hang-mats, tiles and stuff. I love natural enclosures ❤ they deserve beautiful natural enclosures.
