Without you the world wouldnt be the world. Remember that. This world could never have been what is has been without you. You and your life are an addition to the memories of joy, sadness and lessons to be learned in this life. To have had such an impact is an honor we all have. We just dont realize it until its too late. Make sure you tell them you love them and that all your sacrifices were worth it to see them become who they are now. To see the fruits of all of those long nights at work, all the days away from home, all the stress felt over bills and food money was all worth it.
Heard this at the end of a movie back in 2012, my oldest was a few months old and he stopped and listened to the entire song. I immediately downloaded it to my phone(which ya can’t now in the us) I played this song whenever he was sleepy, upset, or sick. Then 2 years later I had his brother and he loved this song. We used to have to travel a lot for my husbands work and I’d have to drive at night by myself with a baby and a 2 year old I kept this sucker on repeat the whole 6/7/8/9 hr drives. My youngest is autistic and this song has gotten us though so much. Like right now he’s sick and he cokes lays next to me and asks for his song. We can only listen to it on TH-cam and this video is his favorite. This song is his comfort song through hard times, overstimulation, thunder storms, sick times, and so much more. Willie covering this song created a major life changer for my family. 🤍
God bless you and your family. My wife and I are struggling with our autistic son. Just like the lyrics say “Nobody said it was easy” . Hope things get better for you ..there are families just like yours and I hope you can take comfort in that. May God give you the strength to continue. 🫡
Just watched The Judge again, and needed to hear with Willie Nelson. Don’t understand the dislikes, honestly. It’s perfect! Lost my daddy in 2017, for a Pancreatic Cancer, and this movie was one of his favorites. I cried rivers watching it now. Oh God, I miss him so much!!! This song makes me cry every time I hear. Who else is here in 2021? March, 2021.
The dislike is because we as humans have lost all our compassion, and humility as a society, i don’t know you from Adam, but my heart brakes for you my friend! Don’t let anyone ever tell you how to grieve, deepest sympathies my friend!
If I were Chris Martin I would so honored by this. To have a legend do such a beautiful cover of a song I wrote. Screw the haters, Willie knows what's up.
I'm a Coldplay fan and I'm certainly no hater. I checked the comments to this video and I can't find any haters. Coldplay's fanbase gets a reputation of being only a bunch of teenage girls that can't appreciate anything other than what they're used to, and I don't think that accurately reflects how Coldplay fans really are. As a Coldplay fan I can confirm Willie did this good justice.
Ode todeodorant When I first found this version I remember people saying he butchered the song, don't know if that's still around tho.But I just looked thru the comments and found one person saying "this version is autotuned to hell" and that it sucks.A third person just plainly said it sucks.
I feel the same. I remember hearing it the first time. I was in Pittsburgh and it played on the radio. It captured my heart instantly. Years later, my divorce is final and the song brings me such peace. The story of life. The story of self ♥️
Me too, but I like to think they still are. Think about it this way, you are made from half your dad and half your mom. They live as long as you do. Both my parents are gone, but I take comfort in that, and I believe I'll see them again on the otherside.
My dad made me listen to that whole damn song. And its all about personal preference, a song is good by what it means and a singer is good by how many people choose to listen. im one of the few who don't like this specific singer so don't listen to me.
When Willie Nelson picks a song to cover he has impeccable taste! He knows the songs that will fit his voice like a glove. The original artists must have mixed emotions though - on one hand so honored to have a legend pick their work to perform, and on the other hand feeling like they just a child, because that song now belongs to Willie!
I absolutely agree! What an honor for Willie to pick a piece of someone’s art that he wanted to give it a go himself!!! I think it’s incredible. Artists and musicians have their own love language. Covering a song is a way of saying that I love your work. I don’t believe there’s a derogatory emotion in that at all. It’s a huge compliment to the original artists.
Does not one thing about Willie Nelson that is vulnerable I know him at one time I lived with her for 7 months are no he's not vulnerable at all he's a scumbag

I’m so sorry for your losses. Burying your child is the most painful experience. This is my absolute favorite version of my song. It makes me think of all of the people, and my baby daughter all at the same time. They’re watching from Heaven, waiting for us. Much love ❤
To my adored son; Losing you took the roar out of my lion heart, the sun out of my sky...I am not capable of understanding why you were taken away so young, I cannot express to the universe enough how meaningful, amazing and good you were, now everyday is cruel...it’s brutal, your absence is like an elephant on my chest...I miss you, Oh god, I miss you so much! I have 3 kids, ages 12, 10 and 8, and your comment hit me in the chest like a wrecking ball... I cannot begin to imagine that pain, and how it will never leave you, and it halts my breath to think of your words about your son... no parent should ever have to bury their child... I usually don't comment online, but I am so incredibly sorry for what you've lost and what you will have to carry with you... I cannot imagine any scenario where you can find a fraction of peace, and that is truly tragic. Yours is the definition of heartbreak...

Raine512 I’m 16 as well my g and I just wanted to let you know I understand what your going through. I have lost many animals, family members, and friends in this life time. This song aswell as the song “everything” and the song “promise” both by Ben Howard have helped me throughout those tough times.
One of the hardest things to do in life is to make that decision to put your dog to sleep. sleep tight my missa girl and wee dino and busta my black lad and 2 Staffordshire bull terriers great memories of you all
The one and only E.J.Z Just now being able to be “ okay” haha tonight I’ve been a mess for some reason. :( im sorry for all you’ve been through. Same with me many animals I’ve loved and family. This life sucks sometimes. But we have so many good times too. ❤️
Div Anderson Yes it is. My dog got ran over years back. And we had to have her put down. My boy that recently passed away, passed away in his sleep. It’s killing me :( we have another old dog and I know she’s getting near the end. :( I’m sorry for your loss also. Life sucks sometimes.
My 12 year old cat just passed yesterday, I know exactly how you feel and I sympathize with you. I’m having a crappy day, but I know time heals the pain.
Last time I listened to this years ago I was a sloppy alcoholic, today I'm still a alcoholic but it's been 5 months since I've had a drop of alcohol. Carry on brothers and sisters, stay on the good path and head towards the light. If you can't see the light be the light to guide others.
Willie has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. My mom was an avid follower of his entire career. I cannot make it through this song without losing it, I miss her so much and Willie brings her back everytime....God bless you you ol hippie, thanks for the tears...
I agree, it takes on a whole new meaning when he sings it due to his age, his experiences and thinking about the past. Just my thoughts...but, gotta love Willie.
@Willie Nelson 🔵 my Nana Agnes Dobbins was your biggest fan and she was my best friend. She passed in 1999 and when I hear your voice it connects me to her. I've been listening since I was a baby. I love you Willie.
I challenge you not to shed a tear and get swept up in this beautiful cover Willie really brings these great lyrics to life properly. Absolutely heartfelt and beautiful. The way his voice changes this song leaves me choked up. amazing.
What an amazing honor for Chris & the rest of Coldplay to have a legend cover their song. Slightly reminds me of the brilliance of Johnny Cash's NIN 'Hurt' cover in that it takes the most beautiful aspect of the song and makes it their own by adding a unique brilliance to it. Beautiful and timeless.
I fell I love withWillie in 1961 while recovering from Scarlett and rheumatic fever and on the weekend he would play at panther Hall, Fort Worth and yes Chris probably is very honored with Willies cover. Willie I am 63 survived a liver transplant and still will dream about hugging you. Sometimes when’s it really hard, I lays in my bed and get my head rite and crawl in your arms and you sing to me. I will always fantasize about this, not in a sexual way, He just has always been there for me. I own your first album and once in a blue moon I allow it to be spun, it has all your first and how I cherish this. I hope you are feeling good. When you can me to the Smoky Mountain area I will call me see ya
I felt this. I was the same. Always waited for him to make the effort. He's been gone for 9 months now. Kinda wish I just made the effort myself. Just make a call. Good or bad you'll have that memory. It's better than a "what if" like I have.
Maybe because if you normally like his music you recognise that this recirding is overproduced. You clearly hear vocal comping and auto tune and that's not what Willie Nelson's music is about at all.
Modern songwriters are just as manly and stoic as ever but the music sounds made them harder to take seriously at the time. Lonely cowboys are forever. Nobody said it was easy
Heard cold play on the radio yesterday and I just decided to look up your song Willie. Your songs have so much soul. I watched you at the State fair in Oregon probably in 1987? Also seen you in a second concert. Your songs were a part of my life. You are a legend, such beautiful music.
Listening to this in 2023.. after hearing it for the first time in the credits of 'The Judge'! Crying my eyes out as I think about my broken relationship with my dad.. this song hits hard! 😢
The Scientist is a soulful, classic ballad that speaks to the range of the artist, Willie Nelson, who has undeniably earned his place in the ranks of American folklore and heritage.
played this song right after i put my best friend to sleep..had him on my lap with this song playing in the background.. broke my heart and still does every time i listen to this song
The original song sounded so sad, but this version is even sadder. I bawled my eyes out after watching The Judge and this song just adds to that. (I've watched that movie 3-4 times and still cried every single time.)
It's my dad's anniversary today 19 years without the best man on the planet 🌏 so blessed to be your bhoy rip Bobby this song just sums up the way I am feeling today
In that inimitable voice always smelling of nicotine and broken heart, Willie Nelson demonstrates the art of holding a song before releasing it, like a fish you catch and slowly let go. His version of The Scientist grows like a sad bubble in your throat until the pain becomes a escape hatch from the past. Drink this song like the last drop of whiskey and let memories of a woman you have loved and lost wash over you.
The Judge is a great film with an emotional conclusion. This song accompanied the credits at the end. I really liked it and recommend that you stay to listen too as its a great cover and suits the film..
My wife's dad passed last night with liver failure. I got the phone call last night, and we both broke down. We knew this time is coming but never truly prepared. There isn't enough time in a day with your family. Everyone sees their parents as invincible . When he took his final breath my wife was looking right at him. Tell your parents how much they mean to you because you never know when it will be the last time they'll say it back.
You're right. There isn't enough time in a day with your family. There are so few people who know who you really are and accept you for you. This song breaks my heart, i wish i could go back.
I heard this as I was changing channels, and Willie's haunting voice and the mournful steel guitar, stopped me in my tracks! This song came into my life at the exactly perfect time.
It's like his voice is crying as he sings it, he sings this with a bleeding heart and u feel every word as it's meant to be felt. I always go back to the start at the beginning if I can't find my way out of some funks that I've been in and I always say I have to go back to the beginning and try again to see why im feeling this way. ..it works like he says it's amazing and it tears your heart out when he sings. Hail willie Nelson
Willie Nelson could toss a trash bag of aluminum cans down the concrete basement stairs and right a hit song with the noisy commotion, such is the absolute depth of his talent.
Bubule WAB you are great person for keeping the family in heart and cherishing it that's what we need in a world of darkness , we need a light to shine bright in all of us and love one an other in stead of hating and fighting
I listen to lots of folk punk, rockabilly, alt-country but there's nothing like Willie Nelson's voice or the man himself. Old country is great sh... stuff. Willie is the best of it. 🤘🏻
Without a doubt willie is AMAZING, and Johnny cash really earned that song but in my honest opinion Coldplay did It better. Not only was it their song but the pace of the song was allot faster, there was different emotion and overall a different tone. Like I said tho I absolutely love willie and this version of the song is nothing but amazing.
My husband of 19 years recently got an amazing promotion, which takes him away most of the year. This song plus my wine and whiskey are what gets me through my lonely days and nights.
I listen to this as I continually mourn my father's passing in 2008. As it pertains our story in life, it makes me wonder about the many out here who could have written these same words... "no one ever said it would be this hard"...only Wille could relay this in his voice. To those who loved family members who just never got the meaning of life and those boundaries that kept us apart never to be mended. Perfect song for the movie " The Judge".
I know In the movie this song is about loss but this song this version has actually helped me fight my own depression after finding out I have cancer. Great song great version. Helped me find myself as I was looking where I lost myself
Found this song this year 2019 and can't stop listening to it. I lost my first nephew last year to suicide and it has been so hard. It not something that ever gets easier… you just learn to live with the pain..
I Love the original i always did love Coldplay...BUT ...this surpasses it by about a million miles which I never thought possible but then you cannot touch Willie Nelson and I never thought I would hear this song done by his goodself ! Absolutely STUNNINGLY SUPERB ! Our Lass 👍💘X

He can sing anything.. people
Willie’s voice is like an old worn record, wobbling on the turntable. Familiar and nostalgic. Perfect.
The Judge got me here. Lost my Father and this has calmed my sorrowful tears. Miss you Pop. Think of you always.
Such an underrated movie. Have watched it many times. Still brings tears to my eyes each time.
The Judge also got me here. Sorry for your loss. I also lost my dad.
Me too !
Such a great movie!
I come here over the years because it is my hearts song for my dear departed mother
Between Johnny Cash covering Hurt and Willie Nelson covering this, we need to make old country legends covering songs across genres a thing.
YES we do!!
Certainly.
Amen!! 💯💯💯
Better do it quickly.
Loretta Lynn does a great duet with Jack White from the White Stripes called Portland. More modern and up-tempo then this, but still on theme.

It's very rare that I like a remake of a song more than the original, but this is one of those occasions. Thank you so much for this remake.
No matter how many times I listen to this, It still stirs the body and the soul. The best cover!
@marcosbryant8646ciao Marco!🙋😍😘💘🍀
Willie has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. My mom was an avid follower of his entire career. I cannot make it through this song without losing it, I miss her so much and Willie brings her back everytime....God bless you you ol hippie, thanks for the tears...
I am truly amazed at how much more emotional this song is when interpreted by Willie Nelson ❤️
Just like Johnny cash covering in my life by the Beatles. JC made it a new song altogether by the sadness and wisdom in his voice..
Wow i agreee with you 💯 😎 💯 😎 💯
the film "The Judge" brought me here. I love this song and i love this version!
My Dad died of Alzeihmers the scene in the shower was so very real ,,, made me cry in the theater,,,
😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻
May your dad be at peace now. Too sad 😢
I understand. I helped my father through his dementia.
💔 This is one of the most Beautiful covers I have ever heard Willie hit my Soul with this thank you Willie 💕 Love you my Brother 🎸🎶🎸🎶
This song takes on a whole knew meaning when he sings it.. chills all over. Damn, Willie.. making have the feels
Willie's the only one left that can do that...kris is still here too but hes acting
I agree, it takes on a whole new meaning when he sings it due to his age, his experiences and thinking about the past. Just my thoughts...but, gotta love Willie.
If America could sing in one voice, it would be Willie Nelson
Is it just me or do everything you hear Wille's voice does your body tingle all over? I love this man!
so many goose bumps...
@Willie Nelson 🔵 my Nana Agnes Dobbins was your biggest fan and she was my best friend. She passed in 1999 and when I hear your voice it connects me to her. I've been listening since I was a baby. I love you Willie.
I swear he could sing about dog poop and people would want some. The man is amazing true legend
I challenge you not to shed a tear and get swept up in this beautiful cover
Willie really brings these great lyrics to life properly. Absolutely heartfelt and beautiful.
The way his voice changes this song leaves me choked up. amazing.
Well sorry but we are wrasslin' this week
I’ll say it again there’s nobody sings like Willie Nelson. Fantastic
Lost my dad to cancer 5 years ago. This song hits home ya know.
lost mine in 92 to cancer still hurts every day
I lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago. Willie was one of my dads favorites, everytime I hear him it takes me back.
I am soo sorry. I know tge feel. Stay strong my friend
may he rest in peace
Yes I do. Sorry for your loss.
First time hearing this version. I love Willie Nelson, he done a fantastic job on this song.
Goodness! Willie singing this.... wow! Tears. So many levels
Just lost my dad this song brings back emotions of my childhood and being from Texas growing up on Willy Nelson is just amazing
Robert Machulla Agreed.
Johnny Cash with "One"!
Mr. Nelson, thank you. I love you.
Me and my dad had such a rough childhood. Im crying, but here I am, leaving him on read for months. I wish i could forgive him.
Forgive him, life will be better when you do. We never know our parents trials
I felt this. I was the same. Always waited for him to make the effort. He's been gone for 9 months now. Kinda wish I just made the effort myself. Just make a call. Good or bad you'll have that memory. It's better than a "what if" like I have.
At this point. It’s your fault. Fix it.
True emotion and feeling in his voice, can literally feel the passion in his voice, best cover of this song I've heard to date
This is probably my favorite cover ever
Me too!
Yes ❤
Absolutely..
what a honor to have the great willy nelson cover your song
I'm questioning the 1.4K dislikes. the melody, the lyrics, and his old voice touches every inch of my soul
Im questioning why you pay attention to yt reactions.
Maybe they have no souls or they are lost souls
They're imbeciles. Plain and simple.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe because if you normally like his music you recognise that this recirding is overproduced. You clearly hear vocal comping and auto tune and that's not what Willie Nelson's music is about at all.
The Judge, Brought me here.....
Coldplay and Willie, they both have a different style and both are awesome!!!
Willie Nelson is the real thing - pure artistry and heart, zero pretense.
Hello, So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. How are you?
@@davidholton9667 ciao David! 🙋♀️😍😘❤️🎄
Absolutely brillant. Does a phenomenal job. The lyrics are so piercing, passionate - made special by his voice! Thank you sir!!!
Willie nailed it here. He country-fied it, Beautiful song
This is the most beautiful version of this song ever made
played this song right after i put my best friend to sleep..had him on my lap with this song playing in the background.. broke my heart and still does every time i listen to this song
Eddy Balderas after I read this comment it reminded me of my best friend and I cried. Thank you for helping me feel again even if it hurt.
The original song sounded so sad, but this version is even sadder. I bawled my eyes out after watching The Judge and this song just adds to that. (I've watched that movie 3-4 times and still cried every single time.)
IKR, I like that movie so muchhhhhhh. So emotional
who sang the original song?
coldplay
Maravilhosa voz.
Amo vc Willie Nelson!
Vida longa!!♡
I watch it and Remember my Daddy... l am so in love with it...
This song was introduced to me by a good friend that i lost. Sitting here looking at the river, listening to it and thinking about him.
Just watched a movie called "the judge". Thanks to it, I found this amazing cover.
That is how I found this too. My Mom listened to Willie Nelson so I grew up listening to him.
To the love of my life if only i could go back to the start
Watched The Judges and immediately knew this was Willie. Never heard the Cold Play version til now. Willie owned this one. He made this his own song
It's my dad's anniversary today 19 years without the best man on the planet 🌏 so blessed to be your bhoy rip Bobby this song just sums up the way I am feeling today
Inperfection is what makes this song so whole.
what Inperfection? ill wait.. ♥️🎶🙏
Wow, what you said!
What a genius comment!
Wow, describes it so well.. this was my song when I was struggling with a relationship, still miss her, still wish it would’ve worked out..
Gee. So beautifully written. Thank you for that.
Well said, sir!
Steven Jung 🙏🌹
You are so right ! I am so sorry for your loss :( Thank you for listening.
You're right. There isn't enough time in a day with your family. There are so few people who know who you really are and accept you for you. This song breaks my heart, i wish i could go back.
That’s so very, very true. Sending strength to you all xx
I’m praying for you ❤️
What a beautiful rendition of an already beautiful song. I’m a huge Coldplay fan, but, this is a Johnny Cash “Hurt” level cover. Well done Willie!!
I heard this as I was changing channels, and Willie's haunting voice and the mournful steel guitar, stopped me in my tracks! This song came into my life at the exactly perfect time.
I can't help but feel this version is best. So much power behind Willie's voice.
Everyday I will listen to this song I will think at my father who I love, also when I will became old of 60 years old and more.
I love you dad.
thumbs up
that's SO awesome, man. So few know the bond and the love that you clearly did. Savor it!
I can totally relate Bububle WAB. Family is so precious, beyond words.
April 10 2020 My Prayers Go Out To All That Have Lost Family Members , Friends , Loved Ones During This Coronavirus Epidemic 🙏 😥 🙏
Sol Surfer thank you.
This is one of the best Willie Nelson's songs I heard, I'm not a big country music listener, smooth jazz is my thing, but I really like this one.
This was an absolute privilege to listen to. Thank you Willie. Phenomenally done.
Coldplay needs to GIVE this song to him the way NIN gave Hurt to Johnny Cash. Willie made this perfect.
Being a huge Willie fan, Coldplay’s version isn’t bad. And just think, had Coldplay never done the song, neither would Willie.
Shut up, coldplay is 100000 times better!
This is good but I feel Coldplay did it best 🤷🏻♀️
Agreed!
Willie really brings these great lyrics to life properly. Absolutely heartfelt and beautiful.
Old School have lived the life he sings about.
Doug McGuire fax, much better than original
I'm in recovery, this song is my healer. Willie Nelson thank you from the bottom of my heart. Victoria
I’m so blessed to have had Willie Nelson playing in the background of my childhood
Hi Michelle 💐💐
My husband of 19 years recently got an amazing promotion, which takes him away most of the year. This song plus my wine and whiskey are what gets me through my lonely days and nights.
I'm speechless with tears rolling down my face
that's the way i felt on que last line in "Just Breath".
I am taken by this!
I know In the movie this song is about loss but this song this version has actually helped me fight my own depression after finding out I have cancer. Great song great version. Helped me find myself as I was looking where I lost myself
The Judge (2014)
Without doubt one of the best covers of all time!....Willie made it his own ❤️✌🏼️
Wayne Ellis he didn’t just make it his own, this trashes the Cold Play version to pieces.
This song played at the end of a movie, the night my best date left me. It still brings me to tears, because it reminds me of 'us'.
This song reminds me of my mom. She passed 6 years today from cancer
Found this song this year 2019 and can't stop listening to it. I lost my first nephew last year to suicide and it has been so hard. It not something that ever gets easier… you just learn to live with the pain..
I heard this while watching The Judge. This was when I really heard and felt the words! Love this....
De los pocos pocos covers que son mejores que la original.... gran artista y excelente voz.
Verdad!
Wait wtf why didn't I know this existed. This is perfect.
Same here ........even thought this is one of my favorit songs ever !!
Movie..The judge..change my life bra
Kudos UNC Willie. Would love to shoot family fotos at Luck. Still missing Poodie. NO BAD DAYS.
Rachael
Yeah! I had no idea this even existed.
Because country radio died about 20 years ago.
*_Beautiful version!_*
Okay, not only can Willie sing "Pearl Jam" he can sing "Coldplay". Not bad for an 80+year old man. Willie, you the man!
Fantastic Willie is truly a living legend
Willie is a national treasure. Last of the Legends. Keep on rock'in.
