Ranma 1/2 probably inspired various other works... However I guess it was in turn inspired by Cinderella Boy (a 1980 manga by Monkey Punch, author of Lupin the third), which has been adapted into a 13 episodes anime in 2003... You might want to give it a try. I don't want to spoil anything, but one of the two protagonists is named Ranma.
yup, it’s called Ranma 1/2: Hard Battle, and it was a standard Street Fighter knock off. It’s one of the few Anime games that actually got a US release despite its relative obscurity at the time in the mid 90’s. Really neat that they referenced it in the show.
@@jimlight5137 pretty sure that was meant to be the third SNES game that never got imported . the first was heavely altered into Street Combat, the Second was Hard Battle. Akiane wasn't playable in the first game and Kuno wasn't in the second.
I had the Japanese version, complete with booklet in Japanese, which I couldn't read. Loved the illustrations, though. The roster had a lot of the main characters... plus a couple of oddballs that only appear like in 3 chapters of the manga. It was a very fun, very legitimate fighting game, but it had one basic flaw: it was *SLOW.* Compared to Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and other contemporary games, it was _extremely_ slow, which took away a bit from the enjoyment.
@@jimlight5137 I actually had a copy back in the day and I hope with this anime remake they could also make a new Ranma fighting game, that would be dope.

@@moonqueenofthenorthTo be fair, the commenter only said that the show provided some hints why Ryoga's mad at Ranma. But he didn't exactly say it was Ranma's fault. Everyone in this show is a victim of circumstance --- not any one person can be blamed (if anything, maybe it was all Genma's--if he could read and understand Chinese, the whole Cursed Springs incident wouldn't have happened).
@@CioChoux yes yes of course. I was just stating my own stand about Ryoga’s fury. Which is I feel Ranma is blameless, no disrespect at all to the original comment. As for everyone victim of circumstances, I definitely agree.
Oh, you noticed Ryoga’s fang? 良 Ryou = good 牙, kiba (or ga) = fang. It doesn’t really have much significance, but Rumiko Takahashi often does nameplay with characters, being anything from just silly puns to references about appearance or personality. Ranma just got turned into a half-girl, so he would be pretty uninhibited about going topless at home since he probably did that a lot his whole life as a boy before getting cursed. It’s also hinted a few times that he sometimes forgets when his body is female, in his head he is still a boy & thinks like a boy 😂

Wow! Pretty cool info. we will have to check it out
The beginning of the episode is a reference to the SNES Ranma game.

You guys are using the wrong subtitle track. The one you're using is for the English dub, which changes a few things.
Oh no! Well that's no good. We will have to fix that
Ryouga uses a lot of Iron Cloth techniques... something other martial arts media occasionally describe/use
Very cool! We didn’t know, thanks for the info

People don't play when it comes to hair, man. This is serious business.
She's going to drop bodies next episodes lol
Take Jesse Katsopolis from Full House. For example, he's serious about his hair, too.
P-Chan enters 😂
😂😂
"Maybe it's something he thinks, but really it's something completely different." Let's discuss after the next episode.
Sounds good!
Ryoga has already given not one, not two, but *three hints* as to why he's so mad at Ranma.
Two of those were verbal.
I love the emo boy Ryoga but Ranma is blameless for everything. My boy is pure as a maiden.

There's a piece of the puzzle yet to be presented that produced the potency of the problem this person has with our protagonist.
