If you want to dive deeper on this topic, I highly recommend the book Effortless Mastery by jazz pianist Kenny Werner. It makes me happy that you’re sharing these subtle subjects with the tabla community. Thanks!
From my experience if the bayan doesn't sound right, it's usually due to humidity and I switch to another one. My Karunya bajan always sounds the same and actually quite decent, so I use it more often than I thought I would. But I got a really great tip from a Swapan Chauduri video I wish I knew for a long time: put a cloth on your tabla while practicing. Swapan Ji is often practicing with it's thin tabla-cover on top and I'm using a sweatjacket. It's good for the technique and I can play 24/7 if I wish👍
What a wonderful Christmas gift! The wisdom shared with us for learning tabla and reaching a higher level of playing is truly inspiring.
Wow…really cool. Congratulations on the growth of your channel! 👍😍
Thank you 🤗❤and Merry Christmas!
