This is the only English review of this keyboard I could find on TH-cam today and I’m glad it was you. Love it. I use a Zugu case on my new iPad so this seems like the perfect thing to be able to throw in my bag with it for when I need to get some work done. I was debating using MX keys mini with a separate case for that but this is way simpler. Your reviews are always great!
I know from experience that it is much simpler to use a non-rechargeable keyboard that uses replaceable batteries. 36 months... that's great. So I don't think it's a negative thing. I recently returned the case with the keyboard and trackpad, it is much more practical to use a separate keyboard for the tablet. Great review.
@@goudendynamiethd2117 Once every three years, is it a problem for you to unscrew two screws and replace the battery? Well, it's a bigger problem for me to charge the keyboard for 2 hours every 2-3 weeks. But ok, someone just likes it that way, and that's fine with me.
Nice review! One of the benefits of a keyboard such as this is compatibility with future devices. One downside of keyboard cases is having no need for them if upgraded devices are no longer compatible.
Ability to replace batteries is a great option! Changing the batteries once every 3 years is much less hassle than thinking about charging every few weeks, plus batteries degrade over time, and you end up with an expensive paper weight instead of having a keyboard that can serve you for years and years! Great thinking Logitech, every manufacturer should incorporate user replaceable batteries in their products.
Thank you, I have the iPad specific version of this and I LOVE it, I gave away my Apple Magic Keyboard because it was WAY too heavy to lug around, I'm giving away my Logitech keyboard, still way too heavy, this one is a keeper! I paired it with the IKEA Bergenes tablet stand for $2.99. Super simple, lightweight, no futzing with folding and unfolding my iPad stand.
2:40 to me it is an advantage that it is not rechargeable and the amount of energy it uses, this will last for months and months, you simply can replace the battery and recycle it vs an embedded proprietary Logitech battery that with use will degrade and pretty much make this a paperweight when that battery dies
Yeah its probably broken before you can replace your battery, but its logitech so it doesn't break, i have logitech gaming mouse that i have for 6 years and very bored of it yet it never broke even some rage gaming sessions
On the iPad if you press Command + H you can use that as a shortcut to return to the Home Screen as well. Thanks for the review; very helpful. Seems like a nice product. The three device pairing is so handy.
This is exactly what I was wondering. I have the original lcd version of the steam deck, would you happen to know if it works with that model? I’m worried they upgraded the Bluetooth with the OLED model
Love the size but I didn’t like the limited key travel when pressed, limited feedback. Also didn’t like the printing of the letters on keyboard, it gives a glare and not easy to see under certain circumstances.
What’s the size of your ipad? Is it an 11” or a 13”? I was planning to get the keys to go for my ipad air 11” but i wouldn’t like the keyboard to be wider than the ipad screen.
I love it because of the non-rechargeable batteries. They last 36 months, which is more than enough. Plus, you can always replace the batteries, which is much easier.
I just bought a K380 "Amazon Renewed" for ~$24 that looks just like this but has no cover and is undoubtedly heavier. But for the price it's a great option.
Can you please tell me if the symbols on the keyboard buttons are applied graphically or cut into the structure of the plastic? Do you think it is possible to laser engrave an alternative layout?
It weighs half as much. With such small tolerances R&D costs increase, as well as the fact that they just cornered the market for a portable high end keyboard.
@@wkghrs Yeap, i mean, for sure it is a better keyboard overall, my point was just that, it is too near of the mx keys mini price to be on the table. but for sure it is better to get 2 options in market than 1, and the costumers choice what they prefear.
Great looking video and nice demo. Question, I have one as well. Did you not have any issue with the spacebar? Mine on the lower side and to both the left and right side over the entire height the space bar it doesn't feel als 'fluid'. It's fine if you only type on the space bar in the middle on the higher side, but apart from that, not so much. You seem to have a pretty hard way of typing, so you might not notice it. But when he stroke the keys in a lighter way, the feedback is terrible on my KTG2 and sometimes it doesn't even register the keystroke.
@@delfinoazzurro2829 I pair this with an ipad and an Android tablet. Out of the box pairing gets the settings correct for iOS/iPadOS. If your device is an Android, Windows, or Mac product, you will need to use the function and OS key. In your case, after connection hold down Function & G for 3 seconds, and all the shortcut keys will work. You only need to do this one time. The keyboard remembers the type of device paired to 1,2,&3 and will auto switch not just the connection, but ensures the shortcut keys are correct.
The Magic Keyboard is great but is sooooo heavy and you can't fold it to the back, so if I want to hold it in portrait mode, I need to take the slippery iPad out. Realllllly bad. I loved the old folio keyboard I had with the iPad pro 2018. It was much cheaper and lighter. And I don't need a trackpad anyway. I ordered it and hope it'll be good. The v1 has mini USB which is much better though than these small batteries that could run out when I'm in Africa and have no access to batteries or screwdrivers.
Got to be pretty thick to use AA batteries though, and thicker means heavier. CR2032 batteries are very common and available at pretty much any store that sells batteries.
Unrelated but I wondered if you’d make a video on that tablet pillow by ugreen at some point, there’s no content on it at all. If you didn’t know about it you’re welcome haha Anyway keep it up man
I am disabled and need to have a vertical mouse and/or touchscreen make . So for me it does the job. Lightweight and has a cover so I can just throw in my bag.
I got a magic keyboard and ended up returning it because wanted an iPad not a cosplaying MacBook. This seems like a much better solution.
I use a Magic Keyboard with my iPad - it honestly works the best of all my wireless keyboards because they’re both Apple products 🤷🏻♀️

You have like 3 years until you need to replace the battery. That seems really good

Thx for the review! It's just bad that it doesn't have a stand anymore for your tablet. I tend to use my tablet for typing on my lap.
Always wanted the Pebble keys without the rounded keys but cheaper than the MX Keys. Finally.
Perfect for a steam deck & iPad combo
