- Sunidhi Chauhan is possibly one of the best singers we have from this generation and even legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar had called her the best we have. With her music single Tum Kehte Ho that released two days ago and talks about societal shaming and breaking social norms and caging, in this episode of XtraOrdinary You on Bollywood Bubble, host Nayandeep Rakshit talks to her about her entire journey - from her name being changed from Nidhi to Sunidhi, facing rejections and being asked to 'pack her bags and leave' the industry, she's seen it all. In fact, Sunidhi who's dabbled with both dance numbers and soft, romantic ballads, initially also faced a lot of shaming, with music directors claiming her "voice was masculine". Apart from that, Sunidhi shares why competition with her other peers and contemporaries especially with Shreya Ghoshal, is only limited to fan wars and nothing between them changes. Sunidhi also breaks silence on getting married early and battling a divorce right after. She explains if a broken marriage changed her opinion towards love and how motherhood has altered her life. Sunidhi and Shreeya ghosal are two of my most favourite singers . Halka halka suroor song by Sunidhi has become my all time favourite.
I used to think she is like OK. Then I went to a concert in Vancouver for Ayushman where he was accompanied by her. She sang most of the songs and I instantly became a fan. She performs so well - not just as a singer but her stage presence is so strong. One of my favorite Bollywood singers now! Love you Sunidhi!

Sunidhi sang two of bollywood's most iconic rain songs..bhagere maan kahi from chameli and yeh barish hain boondo ki from fanah. I don't think anyone could have sang those two like her. Love her so much and I hope she keep shining ✨

It's hard to believe that she received criticism back then because of her voice. I was a huge fan of her voice since my childhood because of it's uniqueness. I remember everyone loving shreya ghoshal. I liked her songs too but sunidhi was my most favorite. There was no one like her in Bollywood.

Back in 98 or so Sunidhi came with Lata Mangeshkar in San Francisco. She was a kid and between Lata songs she sung one or two songs!! What a voice at such young age!! She has gift from God, a beautiful voice!!
Yes she was actually a talent just before shreya.
Shreya a voice was much closer to Lata ji.
And our Indian cinemas like the shrill high pitched female vocals over a more masculine voice because all the heroines also were Bechari and abla all the time so that voice was fitting for them.
But sunidhis songs really stir something when heard on a woofer 😊

She's a legend. If I ever see that a song (which I've not heard before) has been sung by Sunidhi, I take a chance and listen to it. The only other singer who I listen to just by the gravitas of his name is KK who heartbreakingly is no longer with us.

Um as much as I love Sunidhi, that's so not true that the most difficult songs are sung by Sunidhi. If anything the most technically easy songs are actually sung by Sunidhi.

Sunidhi Chauhan is the first and only husky voiced singer to reach at the number 1 spot.
Before and after her otherwise, these have always been the high pitched conventionally sweet voices. She is the REVOLUTION. She is the PHENOMENON. And like Shankar Mahadevan said, she is THE SINGLE PIECE.
It's after her only that the unique voices got normalised in playback singing in Bollywood. Before her, the likes of Usha Uthup ji & Jaspinder Narula ji were great, but remained underrated.
Sunidhi also lost so many awards just because she had that low pitched husky tone. Like those conventional voices literally got awards for many sleep walking songs like Dhadkan , Hum Tum, Teri Ore & now singers are winning for rhymes like Ratan Lambiya 2 lines, hui main Malang malang , Rangsaari etc.. Sunidhi was snupped for gems like Main Mast, Mehboob, Dhoom Machale, Aa zara, Manwa, Udi, Kamli etc..

Sunidhi Chauhan is my favourite singer in India as a music student myself i recommend her sunidhi Chauhan you have voice quality i am your fan i love how you came through struggles.. like me.. come to Nagaland i really want to sing with you and really enjoy singing with you ❤😘 and ya i can't digest when people talk about generation gap because when i was in class 1 my friends were in class 10 and some girls were 25 years of age and i always hanged around with old grandmother's and grandfather's who were my friends which is why i am blessed today don't believe me if you don't want to 😘

Every legend had her share of struggles. Ashaji also struggled in her initial days. Sunidhi is no exception. Sunidhi is top singer of today. She sang a song ' Janha phanki dei' in odia in a movie from odisha. It was a fabulous song directed by akshaya mohanty. In many reality shows at Bhubaneswar, participants sing this song very often.
