It was the title that made me click but it was the conversation you had with the world that made we watch to the end.
'78 is a good year, brother! Let's go live a Saturday Night Fever and cruise in a boat of a convertible! Chest hairs bustin' out of the butterfly collar!
Thank you for being here.
@@OfficeToOffgrid
78 was a blast, especially if you were born in 57.
Exactly...
@@OfficeToOffgrid You are exactly where you need to be... There must always be a starting point, and well sir you are well past that point. Be well.
@@HungryJack0ff Dude! Being 21 in 78, oh you lived it! Bee Gees, Abba, Boney M, sweaty disco and roller rinks, grainy movies with stretched audio... just fantastic. I'm sure you've got some stories to tell round the campfire
Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Compare yourself now with who you were before. That's the only competition that matters. I try to get a little better every day.
True, by comparing yourself to other people you can only become a copy of them at most. You gotta find your own road if you wanna surpass them. Taking inspiration is fine tho, but it's a fine line to walk on.
Enjoy the journey, you'll get there.
-- Well said.
I couldn't have said that better myself ❤
Absolutely! Self improvement (and awareness) is a life long pursuit. Meditation, diet, exercise, relationships, personal flaws, personal goals.
Hope you'll be able to fully retire soon.
Nice place. Good luck with the channel!
OMG you got a comment from MySelfReliance!!! Your one of my biggest inspirations! Me and my dogs live in a tent making a cabin on TH-cam!
Wow. The CEO having lunch with the new hire.
Mr...Shawn...James...
Thank you for your acknowledgement, sincerely. You paid it forward and I will make sure to do the same. You lit my fuse to go off grid when I saw you working on your cabin extension in Nov 2019, silently, with snow on the ground. However, there was someone else who brought the flame thrower for me. When his channel was small, I reached out to him to say how much he inspired me, that he was on your level. To my surprise, he replied and was thrilled to receive my email and support. A few years later, he now has a large channel and I recently left a comment to share this video and tribute with him. Every comment received a heart, except mine. I felt slighted, let down and frustrated. But that's a part of life, I dust off and keep it moving.
And here you leave ME a comment. I'm in disbelief! Just incredible how the universe can make things align.
You are welcomed here for a hike and to swap some fireside stories.
@@OfficeToOffgrid Hahaha... No pressure.
Don't be discouraged pal. The algorithm gods just brought your channel into my life, and I binged watch every episode. I'm sure others will follow. Just keep putting out content. It's entertaining!
same just watched all his videos. i love channels like this and want to do the same stuff some day
A lot of people in my life know that I'm doing TH-cam, but none of them know the channel name or link. I just 'feel' that they would not get past a video or two. So I set out to find a community here. I never thought anyone would watch all my videos, I'm terrible in the beginning (as we all are). Thank you both for being here, things get better, heh!
I just wrote down a complex future talking point; why people close to us do not fully support us.
Just watched this video, gonna go back and binge watch your others. I think your community has found you mate 😊
@@OfficeToOffgrid "why people close to us do not fully support us." usually they dont see the importance in what you do the same way you do. I am severely dyslexic, I could not read or write at 13 and at 45 I published a books that sold about 2k copies - thats really good sales for an indi book. My sister has not read it, ive sent her a cory and she has never read it and this hurts me more than I could ever put into words.
But she is not being evil, she just does not get how much it means to me and if i went on about it I would be the weirdo. She is not ev!l she just does not get it. Equally she bores me to death with things she cares about that mean nothing to me, and that probably upsets her.
If people are not bad people, they usually just dont "get it"
I just watched this video. Keep striving. Your video touched me.
Thank you brother! I know it may not seem like it, but your encouragement and sharing your comment truly matters to me.
*YES...!!! I WAS THE 3,000th SUBSCRIBER* wow that made me so happy - I hope 3,000 subscribers is making you as happy as it made me...!!!
Reaching 3000 subscribers made me extremely happy and I'm equally happy you reached out to share! I'm glad you're here for the journey, sincerely. The community I'm growing here matters to me, I welcome you! 3k down, 97k to go.
It is possible that at this point, your titles don't matter. But make sure that you remember that YOU do. Always. We're watching because we want you to succeed, we want to see you doing all the things, and we want that because you've shown us who you are. You matter a great deal.
You matter, too. The world needs people like you to speak the sentiments that you do.
Congratulations on doing what 99% of the population can’t!
I did recognize the Traplines cabin, and Dave Wipple, both dudes I’ve followed now for years. You hold good company!
Thank you, Cowboy! The whole community seems to be filled with fantastic people, both creators and viewers.
Thumbnail got me. Love watching folks do the difficult stuff. Subscribing and will be watching. Beautiful location. Grow, grow, grow your channel. God bless you and keep you safe.
Thank you for watching and being here, I'm glad you will be along for the journey -- so much to come. The community I'm building is friendly and engaging, you are welcome here.
Such an eye-opener...tent under lightweight roof...well done!
Thank you. I started with just a small 3 person tent right on the ground and unsightly hanging blue tarps.
Inspirational, I’m 16 and this is one of my dreams. Thank you!
No, thank you stank you! Pro tip: write down a plan, set goals and work towards them. You can get land by the time you're 25 or sooner - it may not be pretty and hours away, but that is the age to do something that is not pretty and far away.
First of your vids to view. I'm loving your perspective on self-growth and self-actualization. I'm putting it on record for my appreciation later, you now have 1.5k+ subscribers with 25k views in just two weeks. You're sharing of your pursuit is doing great, reaching many. So, don't stop. Just continue putting in more vids. Your vids are actually being picked up by the algorithm. Relish the journey to your goal. It's what matters, not the destination.
Thank you, Plant Crazy! Me too, love herbs and veggies, just incredible what plants do for us and provide for us. I do watch them grow, day by day, such a pleasure to tend to your own garden.
I appreciate your sentiments and support! Hug.
We all start somewhere; what’s important is that we actually start.
Some days progress will be slow and demotivating, other days will be elating and empowering.
But they all matter to our journey and experience.
Looking forward to more videos !
That's right, to put one foot in front of the other. And when you fall flat on your face, you're still moving forward.
You know exactly the ups and downs of the outdoors grind. You two also have the added threat of forest fires out your way.
Yes! Start...❤
Good luck brother, keep doing what you're doing, it will come to you.
I appreciate that, man, I'm still grinding and growing.
Just here to give this guy another well deserved sub, a thumbs up, and bro to bro support.
Right on, brother! You certainly have a seat around my campfire!
I believe that a simpler life is a better life. Well done man! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Thank you, Augusto! Do you still have Albert with you? Having an animal gives us some simplicity to our day and they instantly make it better.
You are in the right spot, compared to others who live in a concrete jungle with sirens and vicious people all around. Continue to follow your soul who is your best friend and I’ll follow your videos. Well done 👏🏼👍🏼
Thank you, brother! I escaped that cut-throat toxic concrete jungle I was once apart of. I appreciate the support and encouragement, sincerely... you deeply understand.
The algorithm just introduced you to me and I’ve subscribed 😊
Thank you, Dee, I'm glad you're here, big big smiles! I feel the warmth.
Lets help him out folks!
Right on, Matt, I'm glad you exist and so do others. You add to the goodness of the world.
I was the 3,000th subscriber a few seconds ago - how many was he at when you wrote this???
This deserves some respect. The fact that you're out there doing something that SO many other people wish they could do(myself included) is amazing. Keep going dude.
Thank you, brother! It means a lot to hear this and maintains a true perspective. I'm glad you share this desire and I hope I can share this journey back with you.
You got this brotha, can you be influential with 2k subs, idk.. can you be happy living your dream out in the wild, most definitely 🤙🏾
My guy, that's right! There's already a little community here that is very engaging and warm. I believe we can all be happy pursuing our dreams and passions. It's difficult, but that path exist, even if some parts are not visible or simply haven't been constructed yet.
Dude, this was inspiring. Don't stop.
Thanks Johnnie! It was just some late night ramblings I was having in a bell tent alone in a huge forest.
Hey man, you just got 2 subscribers here. Me and my daughter! Keep it up. We cant wait to see the rest of your journey
Thank you Chris and to your daughter, too. I will keep you two in mind and I'm sure I'll mention you both while I blab in a future video, heh.
Well, you didn’t add a picture of my channel with my cabin, but I like what you’re doing. Good video as well. I’m a subscriber now!
Heh, sorry about that, I've just discovered you now. Great name for your property, too. Thank you for being here!
Great attention getter, most of us are everyday guys.. glad the algorithm pushed you up. Subscribed.. turns out that title worked! Look forward to seeing your journey.
Thank you, William, I'm glad you're here for the ride! Yes, old camera, no frills tools, same clothes, learning as I go, took a risk, building a dream.
I'm looking g forward to following your journey! Keep it up!
Thank you Carlos, I'm glad you're here to follow along, it's a great community here that's forming.
Well, I'm gonna watch and subscribe.
The starting years are the most dramatic.
The years I'm going to wish to re-live. I'm at the stage that high net worth entrepreneurs long to be at, but could never again; the period in your life before you made it and you had no idea which way it was going to go.
Not 49 subscribers anymore! Just subbed and looking forward to your videos
Thank you, Shah! If that's your car, I'd look forward to the engine turning and exhaust firing, whoo!
@@OfficeToOffgrid you're welcome. No I wish it was my car. Maybe someday lol. It is a beautiful machine
Oh wow, looks amazing already. Looking forward to watching it and you grow. We are all on different paths of discovery and personal/spiritual growth. 😀🇦🇺
Welcome Kathy from Aussie Aussie Aussie. Say, do you know that guy who punched the kangaroo? Heh, just kidding.
I love that these deep topics are coming up, personal and spiritual growth. Thank you for being here, you'll fit right in.
Thanks for sharing.
And thank you for watching! Keep riding if it's your passion and be safe.
Keep going bud!
Love the support brother!
WOW!! Your place looks Realy Awesome! i Love that you made your own wood stove!! i am a subscriber to those other channels that you showed in this video. i am now a Subscribed to your Awesome channel and i even hit the bell thing too. i Realy look forward to watching more of your videos. i Love how you do things and the way that you make your videos! :)
Thanks, Warren. I had to teach myself riveting in order to build that wood stove. Rare application, but good to know.
The algorithm gods just sent you to me. Subscribed. Now to go watch the the rest of your videos.
Don't get discouraged. Hang in there and keep doing it for YOU!
Thank you for your huge support, RJ, massive! This can very much be an up and down game. I think people would have more success building a cabin than building a TH-cam channel. I will always push and my cabin will be built, as long as I stand able bodied with breath in me. But the challenge, benefits and self accomplishment to succeed on TH-cam... I have to climb it, I have to.
No one starts at excellence, time and trail improves us. You’re doing great. Keep going and I’ll be cheering you on 😃👍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Liz! You said a magic word I've been touting for a while; excellence. I'm pursuing that. I used to work with someone who was on the pursuit of 'elegant solutions'. You know, as opposed to band-aid or half-assed ones.
Dude, thank you! These are the kinds of videos and content that are fulfilling!
You're welcome, man. I guess it literally needed a year to make, it wasn't easy. Your comment is fulfilling and makes the hours, days and weeks of effort worthwhile.
The algorithm god worked his magic. From the oogabooga dude from Wild Homestead to your channel.
Thundercats, hoooo!! Your avatar is real close to Lionel's! I'm glad you're here brother, that algorithm god is a mysterious power. I wonder if it colludes with the hockey gods, heh.
Love it!
Subbed, keep on keeping on my friend!
Thank you, brother! Minnesota, Michigan and Ontario has such great people and wonderful landscapes. I see you bait bears (are you crazy?!), try short ribs, sure made a momma and her cub come around my site for 30 minutes to chow down.
All we can do is just keep going. Your content is much appreciated. Coming from a very new content creator you got this man
Thank you, Juan. If no one cares if we get from point A to point B, we still got to point B and point B is grand!
Now you have 50 subscribers. God bless all your endeavors, may the grace of Jesus Christ be with you always
Bless you, brother, I'm glad you're here to share the beauty of my little slice of Earth.
So I've been doing this YT DIY thing for 4 years now in Japan. I've only managed to get to 2.1K viewers, and my views per video are typically only about 500 (these days). Don't know why, don't know how to change it. But I like doing what I'm doing, kinda like you, so I keep doing it. You just had one video take off, and you grew your base by 10x, and you got some famous feedback. That's great, embrace it. Good for you! That's, I think, the way it happens. Hasn't happened for me yet, but maybe someday. Good luck.
Thanks dude! It's a grind and as with anything in life, a little luck needs to happen. There may be ways to stack the deck a little bit, but success needs an element out of our control in order to happen.
Go at your pace.and your place will your creations.
I'm with you, where there's a will, there's a way.
I live in a 10'x14' strait wall tent on a church members property. 20'x30' tarp provides a "covered porch", and I sleep in a queen size bed. I stopped comparing my situation to others several years ago and find myself with THE PEACE that passes ALL understanding. Kudos to you brother 😎💯
Your setup sounds amazing, brother! If I could do it again, I would go for that 'prospector' type tent you describe. Nothing like straight walls and right angles! That peace is priceless, I'm happy you have found it.
Everyone has their unique beauty. You do as well. I appreciate it.🥰
Thank you and fantastic name you've got, I appreciate that!
Maybe you're a novice at cabin building.....
but you've built the best tent platform on TH-cam, and I watch a lot of cabin builds. I think you're off to a great start. Can't wait to see more.
My guy, thank you brother! Once I build deeper into my land, the tent pad will be there for others to enjoy. Should they want to rough it, I still have my first campsite preserved. A succession upwards!
Had to watch and subscribe. Yes, the title drew me in. Your channel name hooked me but your message reeled me in. I work in an office, but my dream would be to live in a handbuilt cabin by a stream in the middle of nowhere. Thanks!
I've been looking for you, Kay. I sat in an office and dreamed about this. Sat for years, until a blessing in disguise took place. The axe swung and I chose to take a chance, take a risk and take my life in a different direction. The corporate life had it's place, it really did, but it will not define my life nor persist throughout it.
You have a dream. Browse land for fun and let your mind wander. You might be surprised where it will take you over time.
Keep going doing it dude! Dont give up
Thank you Rick, I often say to myself to keep moving forward, one foot in front of the other and every little bit of productivity helps, even if it's just one tiny thing.
While I'm working on some project I've watched someone else make on YT (perfectly), I just keep thinking, man, they make it look so easy. It's not easy. There's a lot of trial and error, going back to the drawing board, measure AGAIN... but you know what, that is part of the process of DOING IT! You're doing it, and you're strong enough to show us the process. Good for you!
They do make it look easy... and fast! I agree with you about getting out here and simply doing it. If you fail, correct the mistake and keep pushing forward.
What sums it up? Talk is cheap. Get out there, take action and put one foot in front of the other.
Watching from Australia, keep it coming. Those tents look awesome.
Lots of love coming from Australia, fantastic! It's a pretty heavy duty tent, lots of space and perfect to glamp out... pooch and all!
Keep grinding brother! It ain't easy but peace is worth it. Started with a tent myself on raw land. Onward and upward.
Dragulaaa! The peace and privacy is unmatched. I think back to my tent on raw land days and a part of me can't believe I did that. You also never get your first night back and then to reflect on the progress and growth since then.
First night in the cabin will be a big one. Sleeping in a huge forest is wonderful.
Man i share your pain brother! I think you're doing great! You just have to be happy with what you've accomplished at the end of the day.
Thanks Todd! You're not my father, Todd! (Terminator 2 reference, heh)
I think a key is, during all the uncomfortable struggles, there has to be something comfortable you look forward to at the end of the day. There is a pleasure in all of this otherwise we wouldn't be out here.
Proud of You 👍
Big hug to you!
This just popped up on my recommendations. Subbed from the Blue Mountains in Australia.
The Aussies have been really kind. Your country has a fantastic and varied landscape coast to coast... as well as a lot of critters, too!
I’m right there with you! I started out wanting to be like these homesteads I see. Now learning I do better doing it my own way. I don’t have the resources those people do for one and 2 it just feels more natural doing it my way. Good luck with everything and much love for doing what you’re doing ✌🏽🫶🏼☀️
Thank you, Jay! That is something that is not spoken about a lot; the resources of homesteaders. I think we all end up doing it our own way, it's beautiful to customize to your liking, not someone else's. Looks like you've got some cool skills and great taste - food and music!
@@OfficeToOffgrid thank youuuuuu so much!! I’m still figuring out this app but I’m trying.. lol
Good vid. I watched to the end. Loved seeing that little ground squirrel eat from your hand. Nature is so cool. More people need to experience it.
Thank you, brother! Nature will change you out here, you get back in touch with the rawness of life and it slows down, giving new perspective and appreciation. Stay tuned for what my trail cams capture out here!
I'd also love a garage so I can turn wrenches on my vehicles too. One massive dream at a time.
I know what you mean about the desire to be a better version of yourself. I concur your thoughts and usage of TH-cam, as I have done the same; mostly with cooking videos, but holy cow, I feel pretty good when things turn out the way they are supposed to.
Thank you for the video, and for all of your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.
And thank you for being here and sharing your positive attitude with us all. Everyone has been absolutely incredible. I'm glad you also feel the little highs from the small successes here in TH-cam. It really does increase hope and motivation.
there is nothing like the satisfaction and self respect that comes from doing something for yourself like this. Congratulations, man.
Thank you Dania! A big thing for me is to be able to say that I did it completely by myself. But... I have to stay mindful that others still need a hand folding a tarp.
@@OfficeToOffgrid 🤗🥰
God bless brother 🙏🏼. At 55 subs this resonates. Just want to keep moving, be productive, and create with purpose.
Thank you brother! While I am building out here, the larger picture is that I'm LIVING with purpose. I felt no meaning or gratification sitting at a desk in a cubicle.
Ironically, your title caught my attention...
click bait works
I found penicillin in a title!
@@OfficeToOffgrid If you're really lucky, you'll find gold! 😁
You have done more than most in their lifetime. Keep up the good work and never compare yourself. You are unique and you will discover this in your new journey. I will be cheering you on.😊
Thank you, Miriam! The ironic thing is that when you do something most never do, you become isolated in a way. Similar to breaking free from the rat race. I'm glad you're here and I hope you stick around!
I agree with a lot of your other comments. Just be better each day than you were the day before but don’t compare yourself to others. You are a creation like no other and you are creating some thing that’s gonna be like nothing else you’ve ever seen. Because you’re amazing I know you can do this.❤
Very deep sentiments, I feel them. Thank you for your love and support, truly!
There’s no comparisons…just be you, do you, what YOU need for YOUR situation. No one has anything “over” you. DO YOU.
I’m not just speaking from no experience in what you’re going through. I bought a completely wild & forested piece of property in 2021, and have been working to build my little cabin. It’s amazing. It’s hard. I don’t have building experience. I don’t have all the fancy tools or unlimited funds or even a TH-cam channel. I have to remind myself to live in the moment, live for the moment, keep chasing the moment…and that moment is literally RIGHT NOW. TODAY. That’s all we have. So good on you for doing this. I’m cheering you on! ~ Rawhide
I'm glad you're here, Rawhide, I identify with your experience too. The community here is very knowledgeable and helpful. I've been rocking a screwdriver forever, but a few subscribers have highly suggested I upgrade to an impact driver. They're right, I have to push myself to keep learning and growing with tools, materials and techniques.
I constantly tell myself that 10 years from now, I'll wish I was the age I currently am... so live and enjoy the moment, because you'll want it back to re-live and revel in it!
First time seeing your channel. I just subscribed. That set up is really nice. Good luck. I 'll be watching for more.
Welcome Charles, thank you for being here. I built this setup so that I could build up my skills and just simply learn.
Great message!
Thank you!
I would love to start my own channel, but fear (and exhaustion…and burnout…) hold me back. Here you are doing things. I’ve only watched for a few minutes but I’ll subscribe. Good luck, and I’ll go on this journey with you!
I appreciate your comment, Beez and for you to join me early on this journey. What I might suggest is to start a channel on something that wouldn't necessarily burn you out and that you already naturally do. An off grid channel is very challenging and there are no guarantees with the TH-cam game. The true reward is what you actually see me accomplish in my videos (which is my offline reality).
Dude, may the YT gods bless you. It's a good story. Keep it going.
Thank you, brother! I have a long journey to go and further blessings will not be easy.
Hey man we all start at the bottom learn as we go Unless your a contractor, Food water shelter, I always use the rule if a contractor uses 3 nails i use 4 They use 4+4 I use 6+6 , Never get in a rush injuries happen, One more board brings you that much closer :) make sure there is no big trees that may come down on what you build, Sucks to rebuild , Do it so YOU enjoy it & it will come together for you :))👍
I've certainly over and under engineered some of my constructing! You bring up two important topics; injuries and falling trees, both of which are no joke.

Thank you Eileen, what a sweet complement, just blows my mind that you did that. Hug.
If you build it and upload it. We WILL watch. Stay on track man. We are here for it. You got our attention now.
Thank you, Kaper, all the support from each and every person means so much to me. Perfect strangers connecting with me, this is what I set out to do. I'm taking all this in and it will come back out in video commentary and reflection.
Hi found you on my homepage now and came to take a look. Liked and connected. I do so admire people like you that managed to go live their lives they way they want to♥
Thank you so much, Anne, so very kind of you to say. I believe so many of us can march our own gratifying path. Age and experience hopefully brings us some wisdom and reflection. I just had to leave the congested concrete jungle for the life breathing forest.
Your doing amazing ! Only person you need to be compition with is yourself 😊 good luck!!!
Thank you, Heather, I appreciate the support! Hi5s!
Beautiful! Thnx for sharing not just best parts.
Sure, you`re having fun not just YT growing stats
You're welcome, Igor, thank you for watching and commenting. I am having fun on my property living life... as well as the whole range of emotions that comes with doing this on your own and exploring the unknown.
Those are all awesome channels. Girl in the Woods is from my neck of the woods, here in Michigan. I can’t do everything I want with my Channel right now but soon I will. Good luck buddy! I’ll be following you 😊
Thank you, Maven! Brooke and Dave are fantastic. There are a few channels coming out of Michigan, showing the world how great the people are there. I enjoy how salt of the earth and proud they are of their land and state.
Awesome dude. Cheering you on from here in Australia. God bless you with joy, health and the desires of your heart.
Thanks brother, glad to have you here from Australia. Beautiful sentiments!
I have learned the hard way that my target audience, I started my channel to help, are those that Love Freedom and don't mind making mistakes and prefer to Not be told how to do. Be Blessed out there.
I'm sure I will be learning lessons, myself. I certainly am learning as I go here and am not an expert. I just love being outdoors and working with my hands. My strength is deep thinking, reading between the lines and observing the world around me. Thank you for the support brother!
Don’t let yourself get discouraged! You are doing what most people just dream of. New to the channel, you got my sub.
Thank you, brother. It sometimes slips my mind that this is a dream of a lot of people. The camera makes things look better. When I finally got out here, I was surprised at the amount of plants, fallen branches and trees everywhere and unsightly. I also never knew I'd study spiders so much out here.
just found your channel as well. Having been a working cowboy a good bit of my life, you might could say a lot of what you are doing comes with the life/lifestyle career I choses all those many years ago. There is much reward at the end of your rainbow when you come to the point you can look at the life/existence/little paradise you have built for yourself comes from your own hands. It teaches you that there is very littyle you cant do yourself. Old saying....."Strongest man is strongest alone." Lot of security in not havinng to hang your needs on the backs of others. All my best to you and reach out if you have any questions I might could help with. Always happy to help.
Thank you, James. You clearly made it to your destination. I'm anticipating feeling all that you are describing. It also feels great to be able to accomplish this on my own. I will be addressing the topic of being alone in the future.
@@OfficeToOffgrid My best suggestion on that is 1 of 2 choices...either keeping 2-3 good dogs around for company, or to find someone that is ex military thats seen combat. They tend to prefer the peace and quiet, arent afraid to get dirty and know when to not talk too much
Which dog breeds do you recommend?
This is about your journey. If it inspires others then great, if not thats fine. Do not tie your selfworth to what others think about you, that is the true path to failure. Love what your doing, and wish you sucsess.
Thank you for the support and love, Horseman! I don't think I've thought about inspiring others (which would be great!), I think I mostly just wanted to meet other like minded individuals.
Don’t stop being you and chasing these dreams. It just takes time. The older I have gotten the more I like searching for more creative people like yourself. The few that know you so far love the grind!
Thank you, Kelyn! I think there is a new wave to emerge here and I'm hoping to be a part of it. Something more simple and less sugary, but rather authentic and relatable.
Oddly enough the title got me to watch and now you have a new sub. Thats an interesting and creative design for a cabin and whats more important your nice and warm. Looking forwatd to your journey...
Thank you, Duncan, thanks for being here to join in my journey. I think technically it's a gazebo and it's certainly glamped out, very cozy!
I like what you've built there, simple and effective.
Plus a massive learning experience, which is want I wanted to gain.
From one person alone on a mtn to another.....I echo everything you just said.
Thank you, Margaret. We are alone on our mountains, I have a lot to say about that. I hope you stay tuned for the long run, I speak a lot about being alone vs solitude.
👍
Hi5s!
Well spoken 💜💙 Keep on pushing! Everyday is a new opportunity!
Much love, Kody! With each rising of the sun, the world wakes up and gets going, with or without you. The breaking light washes away the past day and as you say; brings a new opportunity.
@OfficeToOffgrid 100% man! Gotta got out there and make every day count! Have a great day man! 💙💜
Do your thing! Good luck, no hail breaking that plastic roofing! My friend (&I) put some of those on her Barn for light, but next summer the hail destroyed them….
Thank you, Latifa. I don't get a lot of hail out my way, the bigger threat are the trees and branches when the wind kicks up. I stop working at that point and move to a safer area.
just found this video, like the lifestyle, will subscribe now:) and watch your other videos, greetings from Norway
Kurti, I welcome you from Norway! I believe we have similar landscapes, I google mapped my way around your country -- even when I was bored at my desk job.
Awesome! Enjoy the build
Thanks brother! I hope you will share in my journey here.
I subbed because of your title ;) Keep up the good work dude!!
Thank you, Rowan, I appreciate your support!
The most inspiring thing is that you started. You are doing it. The following doesn’t matter. It will come with consistent posting. YOU are living the dream we all share man, and for that you should be proud🤝
Thank you for your encouragement, Brayden! It's touching a once perfect stranger would say such kind things. I do not want to lose the perspective you share.
At some point, I will speak about what it takes to get here; leaving your job, your people, the city, selling your home and taking the risk. These are the truly difficult things.
Just a few things, one stop comparing yourself to others, two just be you and chronical your journey, three celebrate your accomplishments. You are doing something many just dream about and watch videos to live vicariously through. The channel will grow, be patient and enjoy the ride. Best of luck and I sub'd
Wonderful comment, one I will continue to read and let echo with me. Your support means a lot. You just listed out 3 steps to happiness. You've got a place around the campfire for sure!
Living the dream! ❤️👍😄
Thank you very much, Moley... and camping does rule!
i wanted to send a similar message; there was so much fear before starting, so many people calling me crazy as well...
I got a couple side-eyes from people, but mostly everyone is so engrossed in their own lives to even care. I came here to find people who are similarly interested in the off grid lifestyle and dig it.
IT I see. Huge forest + laptop + cell phone + satellites = endless possibilities.
Keep chipping away my friend. I wish you well. Looking forward to seeing you again
Thank you brother, I'll wave to you in the sky!
Hey dude i got the same ideas as you even the yurt style tent while i build. Good start. Some advice for you is to use some heavy duty pine wood screws to secure the bearers to the posts as the whole load of the cabin will be on these.
Thanks dude, from a tent on a ground, to a bell tent on a raise and roofed platform. This build was purely for experience and education, I can see so much 'wrong' with it, but that's how we learn and do better going foward.
Keep going 🙌🏻
Appreciate the love, dude!
I feel the same way as you and trying my own channel with many of the same inspirations. I agree the work is always harder then it looks on a finished video. Keep on keeping on my friend.
Yes, the biting insects are brutal, that does not come out on camera! TH-cam is a game and I chose to go the route of authenticity because it's always worked in my life.
Man the mosquitoes must be terrible there. Glad I found you at the beginning.# in the 2 thousands
I like this... in the beginning. I hope there's a middle and a take off to soar! I do measure many things in years. Aug 2025, I'm grinding upwards towards you!
Everyone starts somewhere and not everyone has the skills right out of the gate. If off grid life were easy, everyone would be doing it. I get what you're trying to do, and wish you the best
This tent pad that I built was a specifically to gain skills. I sat as a viewer for years seeing all these people building cabins and I wanted to do the same. I had that burning inside me to do so. But one can't go from watching to immediately laying foundation. The forest itself is a beast to learn and become a part of.
Well done, man. A tip: if you're in snow country, that roof will need reinforcement
Thank you brother! I am in snow country and the roof does get tested! Stay tuned...
Everyday guy... That's how we all start, just keep going and that everyday guy will become that Guy you want to be
Right on, brother! To become a better version of myself... a life long pursuit that is very much worth it.
So July 12th you posted to 49? subscribers. On July 26th it now reads 1.05 +1 Liked/Subscribed. I have as yet to run your videos so there is an anticipation... To meet you as you are, facades aside. Thank you, Strothelm. It's been a whirlwind for me the last few weeks, kind of unbelievable.
