As a mother of two half Korean teenagers, I am very pleased to find this channel and watch this interview. The interview was very well done and particularly Daniel’s approach on North Korean architecture is very thoughtful. One distraction is the camera angle. Why doesn’t it capture both of them in one frame when it’s necessary? It’s strange to keeping showing one person when the other is talking.
It is not necessarily being interracial kid. You might live in a country where has so many regional languages and has its own national language on national level. You can speak more than one language by that circumstances. Like myself, I can speak Javanese (Mother language), Indonesian (National Level), English (on academic and professional environment). Of cource a lil korean from its k-drama. Lol

Great program! I am a Korean and have a biracial daughter who is now 33 years old by a Caucasian American husband. She had identity crisis when we moved back to the US. I will forward this channel to her. Just one thing- The back ground music was a distraction, it didn’t help at all.

I'm a canadian living in Frankfurt Germany i watched the video with his mom and the hospital in Hanau city where she met his dad happened to be the same hospital where i hade my three kids...I'm also a korean drama lover and am learning korean at level two...
Daniel Architect, his so gentleman.. This was the first vlog, I've seen him. Then, I begin to like him. And the love story of his mother and his father. Very interesting. I admired her mother..
He seems like a really nice guy and almost criminally handsome. I'm German and I didn't even think about how he stems from two countries that have experienced/are experiencing separation until I got to that part in the interview. I have an East German and a West German parent, so I'm a little bit of half/half :) Which doesn't result in any major problems or discrimination of course, I (growing up in the West) just got kind of angry when people started saying stupid things like "East Germans are lazy and don't work", or that they wouldn't go to any universities in Saxony, because they have "ugly accents", stuff like that. Especially the thing about the accents annoyed me, because some of those classmates who said that had rather thick northern German accents, but somehow felt like their way of speaking was more proper.
It is interesting how much you look like a cousin of mine when he was younger. His mother is American of Scottish, Welch, English and Holland descent. His father is Cree (Native Indian/First Nation Canadian) and French. My Uncle went to Korea 10 months before the Korean war. He evacuated during the war and returned to Korea for the rest of his life. Because of him our whole family is very interested in South Korea. One of my cousins married a North Korean adoptee and had 4 daughters. Another cousin adopted 2 Korean children. We have a multi racial family. Some others are Black and white and Arab and white. I think it is good to know our roots and learn the cultures of those countries of origin. I study family history and try to learn the cultures, and histories of each generation going back in time. I am glad you are looking into your own too.
Daniel's saying reminds me of 피맛골, which was really old area where people used to go there and drank Korean traditional liquor-막걸리. Former gov just demolished the whole street and there's only a sign left which designate there once was this street. And I apology for regarding 혼혈인 as foreign in my mind. Idk why but I did it and I feel srry when Daniel said it did hurt his feeling.

I 100% agree with Daniel's answer on North and South Korea, using West and East Germany as an example. I was 19 when the reunification happened in Germany and I always thought back then, and still think today, that Western Germany has overrun Eastern Germany. His answer actually is very wise, and human. BTW: I have a Greek, Croatian background born in Germany :)

Most Europeans are commonly bilingual/trilingual. His English is well spoken. Sad that most Americans can only speak English. And NO NO NO few spanish phrases like "Hola como estas? Bien y tu?" doesn't count as second language.

South Korea is not poor now, it has caught up with the rest of the West. Many South Koreans migrated to Germany, is there any particular economic reason for that move? Many S.Koreans moved to the U.S, Canada, Australia etc. Asian and European miscegenates, the best looking people. Yes you too Dan and Becky.

It all depends on who you hang out with and your circle. For ex, you guys are as Korean as it gets to me and my friends. And we are full Korean. We wouldn't really register it, especially since you guys speak more fluent Korean than a lot of full Krns who live in the states. This is great content. Personally I don’t believe that people want to change their personality to completely fit in somewhere. Instead most people want to fulfil their need of belonging, since this is a basic human desire. But you can also belong to a group of friends, your family or your partner, to have something to call »home«. This is also a more healthy approach, in my opinion, since you can not change the people around you. But at least you can decide how much credit you want to give to their opinion in the future.
There are more Asian people than white people on Earth. If you really wanted an Asian wife so bad, then go to Asia or at least to an Asian majority area.
