Thank you Bonnie your words mean a lot! Since we started gardening our passion for awareness has grown and we both see the importance of the big picture! More on the way please stay tuned! ❤
@@monicamacauley3750 hi Monica thank you as always for watching. We actually shot the entire construction of this wall but the footage is so long we never got to edit it. I do think we will revisit it though. Yes the nasturtium are so big and trailing I can't get over it. Lots of comments from neighbors!
It’s the Great Wall Reveal🎉. Great job guys! Yes to saving time, money, resources! I’m glad I live in the country. We were in a cul de sac once and the new neighbor never had a lawn before and mowed Everyday!! Our bedrooms were on that side😡. We are in a drought and it’s Way abnormally Hot🥵. Last rain of .8” was 8/30 and the last 2 weeks have been mid to high 90s and we should be 73. The lawn we never bother with as it’s sandy and usually dry. I water almost every day. We may have a shot at a few drops of rain this weekend and then cooling down. Our nights are still 60 degrees. Flowers are so photogenic aren’t they? I’m taking note of what blooms now even under these conditions. I have a lot of aggressive flowers to transplant to the meadow area and need to wait as it’s a desert right now. Now you will have more foot traffic 😂. Enjoyed the tour and now we have to watch the lunar eclipse 🌙 👏🏼👏🏼
WOW 🎉 I have been waiting fir this particular vid! I landscape very similiarly. The petunias reseed thenselves?? The juniper I will consider, especially the low-growing type. The creeping jenny will go nicely with your plans. Our new-to-us home needs landscaping. Currently, the front us ALL rock - ugly rock! I am glad the former owners did not landscape. Thank you guys! I will be rewatching soon and taking notes.
These petunias reseed and grow like crazy in full sun. I love juniper and conifer gardens. We just planted golden pacific which I love, daubs frosted, and blue star. We just cut another 10x12 area off the lawn. Juniper would probably do good for you it grows easy.
@@gail7998 I wish I knew. I bought them from ferry and Morse at least 5 years ago. They have volunteered every year since. We pulled the volunteers and transplanted them to the wall garden. I'll have to look for seed pods. Yesterday a black swallowtail hatched and found the petunias. It buried itself inside and seemed to feed forever. Just amazing and super fragrant.
@@ourbackyardgarden thank you. You 2 are doing a beautiful job in your yards, as well as this videos. I really appreciate your sharing. That rock wall must have taken quite some time and patience. It is beautiful.
Oh my gosh, I love that wall and path!!! How do you like the gravel? I've thought about gravel around our herb garden because it's tough to mow grass there but I think gravel introduces its own issues so not sure.
@@therestlessgardener9287 we prefer pea gravel. It does come with weeding but it's much easier to manage in our opinion. Weeds and volunteers release fairly easy. We love English style gardens. BTW, I can walk to medford nursery
@ourbackyardgarden How wonderful!!! If I was going alone, I would plan to meet you, but a coworker is driving...maybe next year if I get to go again!!!
Wow, you have given me so many ideas on plants for a better lawn replacement! Thank you!

I totally understand what you were about to say about people being so inconsiderate and letting their dogs go to the bathroom in your yard so rude!🙃🙃
Thank you for understanding the frustration!

Hi Leigh. This was worth waiting for. I’ve never seen nasturtiums that big.

Was hoping to see tonight's super moon but it's cloudy. Hoping for rain tomorrow it's super dry here.

Which hardiness zone do you garden in? I think that would be really helpful to put that info into your channel’s description. Thank you!
