I just tested the fix of Augment space auto-grinding. 2 of the 4 ships in the same system auto-grinded while 2 sat safe. So I moved the 2 ships not actively grinding to another augment space. So far all 4 envoys are engaged. Thanks for the reminder about 2,000 kill cap for XP. We truly appreciate the time REV puts into this channel and STFC. You have helped me enjoy this game at a high level. KUDOS to REV and his crew of STFC helpers. LLAP
@RevDeuce do you know why they put that cap? It doesn't just stop the xp, also the loot and chest.. and all special loot from borg, acian, exchange, jemhadar and so more.. now they put a event that requires us to shoot a lot of hostiles..
Hey Rev, it would be nice if you added a quick overview on the best crew used to maximize XP gain, like Pike and his Shakedown Cruise Crew, T'LAAN as a Captain and GOON
since eclipse provides more XP than even 51 Traders and they all do EM damage, i do just PMC since it already has XP bonus built in. All the speciaized XP officers now provide an insignificant XP bonus, thers so much research now and the bonus from FC Kirk.
Ship XP is such a pain especially for miners (Feesha you know I’m looking at you), so I almost always end up spending Lat. One of my biggest annoyances is the hostile cap so even when you do put out a bunch of ship auto grinding you can quickly hit that limit. I wish they’d either get rid of the cap or at least give us a counter.
I agree, I think the limit is around 2000 or 2500, or as my math above shows, 4 docks running AFK for 10 hours will hit the limit and result in no gains, particularly no Armada gains after that, which is the most painful part if you are trying to grind that rare and epic uranium in exchange armadas after hitting attack limit and come up with 0 gains.
@@tomcatkev You can just do the armadas the next day, its bad planning if you need it on that exact day. The grind affected most are Apex since you have to grind them each day. Also its 2000
I have farmed to level up ships, especially miners, for quite awhile. I've also farmed to get faction ship BP. I built my Centurion being -2mill Romulan by farming. As for using latinum to upgrade ships, only if I'm going to get something out of it, i.e. battle pass.
Do mostly the same thing myself. Warships are slow burn I have done it with miners but usually I save them for events where ship XP count in scoring. My deviation from this is with 2* ships sometimes I will just burn latinum to max.
Problem with autogrinding is that you can't hit too many hustles anymore during the day before hitting the 2000 cap (which affects the faction and sworm grinding).
Hi Rev. I always look forward to your videos. I love that you consider low, mid and high level players. My game play has transformed since following your guidance. I always love videos on crewing as I find it confusing. The videos on syndicate XP and hitting hostile in Sol etc. were awesome.
There are also several pieces of research that increase XP, especially the one in the Galaxy tree called Prime Enhanced Analysis (available at ops 41), that GREATLY increases XP gained!
Rev, Thank you for noting that one problem is fixed, but there is still ANOTHER PROBLEM that hasn't been fixed yet, and allow me to explain. Lets say that you have a Heavy Hitters SLB, and if you want to be top 5 in that SLB, you may leave 3 or 4 docks worth of ships AFK grinding all night long, but then you will notice that NONE OF YOUR SHIPS ARE GAINING ANY RESOURCE PAYLOADS. For me with 4 docks using 4 attackers for 10 hours with 1 attack per minute, that is about 4*10*60=2400 attacks. So after 10 hours I hit my 2400 attack limit, and then in the next 14 hours,, or until the next day rollover whenever we decided to start this mess, I will gain 0 cargo payloads from attacks. If I had some Clear The Coast Eclipse mission going on, or if I am doing Rare and Epic Eclipse Armadas and GET NO PAYLOAD from them because I hit daily max attack limit in order to keep my high Heavy Hitter SLB position, well we just have to factor that in, and do ALL THE DAILIES FIRST that have cargo payoffs we are counting on and THEN we leave AFK Grinding with 3 hostiles overnight. And of course that also means we need to equip 3 different ships with heavy hitter damage crews, so what are the 3 favorite crews? And I should say I'm OPS38, so I don't have Hugh or Janeway yet. The 3 lower level damage crews that I can find at ops38 are: * 5 Gorkon Khan (thank you for mentioning that one) * Goon, Ro, Harcourt Fenton Mudd * Gonzales, Val, Shev And then I also figured out which of my 3 ships have the highest Crit% attribute, these are 17% or more: * Talios Crit 18.7% * Hijacked D3 Crit 17% and then my Saladin Crit is 12%. So here is just another reason why Talios is my FAVORITE SHIP and is also my most powerful ship at OPS38, with Saladin in 2nd, and Cerritos and Vidar tied for 3rd. Of course I need to refine G4 materials to upgrade my Talios any further, but I have 125/150 BP for Enterprise, so I'll get it soon, I have been putting Research and Crew advances ahead of building Enterprise, that is why Talios remains my best ship for now, but yeah it is a great critical damage producer for the Heavy Hitter event, if you don't care about sacrificing cargo gains after 10 hours of continuous attacking. And if you are actually manually attacking 3 or 4 warships at once doing 5-10 attacks per minute, you can hit that 2400 attack limit within a few hours. I'm surprised more people don't complain about this. It seems to be a feature designed to prevent Robot players, but then the AFK Hostile technique is an "endorsed robot" method of attacking all night long. To keep playing as is, I just make sure I capture all cargo related mission objectives first before I do any 2400+ hostile attack missions SLBs.
Speaking of things that Scopley's fixed. This fix also fixed a problem that I have had for months. A level 6 mission was put in klingon space and behind a locked route.
You show a lot of charts in your videos. It would be nice to have the links to the original post so that I could give them some love for their hard work. You do mention them, but I still have to spend half an hour to find the poster.
BTW Thanks @Rev Duce it's because of you I got my Botany Bay, I don't know why so many other content creators play games and only give you have of the info to string you along???
Grinding is fine for some ships, but for miners like the Feesha, grinding doesn’t adequately address the issue imo, lower mining ship xp requirements drastically or give xp for mining, like how warships get xp hunting reds
you are better reducing incoming damage with chen. Goon doesnt provide significantly more XP, you barely notice it. What you notice is chance reducing the incoming damage, letting you kill more and higher hostiles, thus increasing your XP per Hull
Thanks Rev, I noticed the change immediately. A question though, can Scopely clear out all those "stuck" Bounty Hunters that are out there? I noticed a few in your video.
Man, I thought I had a golden horseshoe. I had a grind the other day that went for 24 hours and didn't want to saynanything because I didn't want to jinx it.
Active xp - Mempa is a good system. The 39s pay out higher than 40s in Wolf. Easier kills for lower lvl players or ships. (Up to 7k xp now based on my research per kill of a 39 there). Otherwise..yeah..those upper exchange systems are great.
Grinding XP as f2p in higher 40s is a joke and nearly impossible. And scopley needs to address this. My Feesha (lv35 ->45) needs ~30M xp My Talios (lv28->30) requires ~3M xp My Cerritos (lv31->35) requires ~8M xp My Mantis (lv26->30) requires ~5M xp My Fran A (lv40->45) requires ~19M xp That's like 65M xp. It would take such a long time to actively grind. Even if I want to use lat, I would need to refine lat for nearly 100 days, and not use it for any speedups, which is again a huge bottleneck. There is no practical free path to level ships up for me now and I keep falling behind as time progresses. I have stopped leveling ships up till scopley understands their own mess and adds a way to level up ships faster.
Anyone know why my USS franklin isn't getting any XP for killing swarms no matter their level? Is it because I'm level 19 and you're meant to get it at level 20?
I was farming in a system that had level 38, 39 and 40 level ships. The 40s and 39s stopped spawning and i was told that if i kill the 38 level ships the higher ones would stat spawning again sooner. Is that true?

Stella is the worst example :D i think for one hull against lvl 40 eclipse traders gets me to lvl 38. Its like 2-3 Hulls and its maxed with active grind. Its nice that scopely fixed the bounty hunters, but they should fix survey leveling. They are built for mining, not combat. Let them gain XP while mining! Also its seriously bad that all the new ships require millions of XP per level.
To each their own, but I've never used auto grinding hostiles for leveling my stella - I level them on eclipse hostiles to get security codes for my store pulls. And I try to confine that leveling to days when there's an eclipse event, like on Thursdays or the one ticket thing. That way it's 3 birds with one stone.
They need to drop the req on the feeshas.... I'm 35 of 45 atm each level is millions of xp for a ship that doesn't have a good weapon or 45k+ per level in lat which for a mostly f2p ops 44 player which is pretty much impossible.... I've got much more important things to spend my limited lat on
