Ritchie Valens Plays Music at the High School Dance | La Bamba (1987)
Man, Esai Morales put on a legendary performance in this movie!
Love this movie! Esai Morales is my all-time favorite actor!😊😊
He's even better in Ozark.
So good looking too !!
He kills it in every movie and TV show. This has to be one of my favorites though.
I loved the woman who played Ritchie's mom. She was so funny.
Ricardo Valenzuela Y TU FLYING GUITAR!!😂😂
Roseanne De Soto she was great.
Its unbelievable that Ritchie Valens was really never discoverd as much as he should have been his life was cut short at such an early age❤
I love how the musicians keep playing
thats the 50's for you
True professionals!
That was common back in those days up until the 70s that I remember. We had a band then. We only stopped if the police stopped us. It could go either way. Sometimes they took it outside and the dance continued. Sometimes not.
That's the 50s homie, fight or argument they keep playing 😂
Bob always felt he was pushed aside.
He was cause he chose to live the life of a drunk rapist…
Yes, sad. However he brought it mostly on himself
What an observation
He was
@@marshadupree9305no the mom did it to him
3:11 I could sworn Ritchie was pointing at his brother Bob. & Bob went Banana's! My favorite part. I guess he is pretty crazy acting when he's drunk. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome classic best part of the movie
I wouldn't defend my brother if he was the one that crashed my party.
@@jonathanriley8008 Yeah & if someone did that now in todays time, they'd get arrested.
@@brettsoyars4341 If you have any type of entertainment would have security in all areas of the building.
Who knew Bob was responsible for the first Mosh Pit in rock history
LOL I didn’t even think about it like that
😂
💯💯💯🤣🤣🤣🙏🏼
Or as I like to say, Richie was shining like a star, Bob was just shining
😂😂😂😂
Lou Diamond Phillips should have been nominated for a Oscar for his fantastic performance in the movie
Fuck yeah
Fuckin' A!
🤣😂🤣😂 THAT WAS FUNNY WHEN ROSIE ASKED WHO, RICHIE SAID NO ONE YOU KNOW. SHE THOUGHT IT WAS HER😂🤣
Well she choose wrong
Rosie fucked up big time

@@officialclairegmusician Hi
It's a great performance just that he's brother had to start trouble on account he was drunk. But Ritchie Valens paved the way for Latino Rockers and now we understand what he went through.
Brothers will be brothers.
Every family has a "Bob" and if you dont know who the "Bob" in your family is, then it's probably you... You're the "Bob" in your family 😅😅😅😅😅
I'm Bob
That's true in my younger days.
Just saw it again last night. What a great movie.
Bob ruined Ritchie's night but he still stand up for him
4:14 the guy whacking that biker guy on his back with the chair reminds me of what a background character on Spongebob would do during a fight scene 😆
Ritchie was awesome!😁
Was? He still is!
Taki młody artysta, miły chłopak z talentem i przyszłością i koniec życia. Los bywa bardzo BRUTALNY niestety.Szkoda, bardzo wielką szkoda❤❤❤😢
I love you Richie because I watch you a year ago with my dad. My dad left me.😂😢
I love the way they are dancing.
Rosie taking off with Bob on the motorcycle was so true-to-life on my mom's side of the family. Her sister took off with a guy who loved motorcycles and fast cars one day. The only difference is that her mother was the one throwing her hat down.
then there's the BOB of all the family's lmfao 🤣
Pinche Bob lol
Oh my god how I love that Ritchie has Mexican roots and yet he is so loved by gringos, a true legend!!
gringos and white people like hard working mexicans not the ones that run across the border to sit on public assistance
Man his girl in the movie was horrid. A beautiful brown Latina would have been way better 😂 pale Susie was not it 😂
Look at Ritchie with a t! He's lighting up the stage!
“Yea Ritchie!” LMAO
Come on baby just rock ,rock ,rock 🎵 🎶 Deadly Drop !
God I love Rock N Roll !
And dancing is sweet 🤩
EPD NUESTRO INOLVIDABLE RITCHIE VALENS ASI COMO BIG BOOPER AND BUDDY HOLLY SIEMPRE LOS RECORDAREMOS
Bob loved getting the scraps.
Even though Bob was 100% in the wrong, Ritchie still stepped in to defend his brother.

Good afternoon my friends
I was 32 yrs old when this movie came out to
Lou diamond philips was great playing richie to
Am still listening and loving this movie 🎥 to in July of 2024
Richie was so talented and die so young
It's normal that it still hurts like the first time I saw the movie😭😭😭
3:29 😂😂😂😂. And 4:14 😂😂 he takes the chair to the back like it was a cool breeze, then pummeled the dude 😂😂😂
Never fight a mexican pierre-romeo
Great movie. Lou Diamond Phillips 👍
He was nothing like the real Richie. Lou isn’t even Mexican
My favorite part of the movie right here Bob reminds me of one my cool drunk friend from back at home🤣🤣
Anybody see the new Mission Impossible… BoBs the villain man what a career he has had!!!!
I gotta see that movie! LOVE Esai!
Ritchie’s brother Bob belonged to the Galloping Goose MC biker club, he’s wearing GG colors when he crashes the dance.
Yes Bob was a Galloping Goose member and he had one of his club brothers there with him at the dance.
@@antoniowilliams366
Yeah, bikers don’t go anywhere alone. You gotta take at least one brother with you anywhere you go.
The club prez at the time gifted bob his bike at 17 years old for doing a favor💪
Achoo Chicano brother can sing the best rock and roll. This life was taken very young
Unbelievable to know he died at just 17yrs old so talented
This was not a High School Dance! It was The American Legion Hall in San Fernando CA.
Thank you !! Ritchie’s mom set this up but the leader Rudy said no dice but you see who won out !!
Ritchie wasn’t playing a high school dance, he was playing at the American Legion hall.
I love this song and the movie 🎥❤️🎵🎶🎵
The best music ever. Anita Jackson, SA
Wow how cool is that ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ok I need to watch this again
Such a sad story. Terrible at the end when Bob finds out he died. The honest truth is Bob loved him so much, he would have preferred to kill Ritchie himself than see him die in a plane crash
Peccato che se ne andata troppo presto ti ricorderò sempre ❤
It wasn’t at a high school dance it was at a vfw hall his mom rented for him to play, they didn’t pay for drinks back then at high school dances 😂lol or have beer 🍺
I'm watching the movie later on 😊❤
Great music
Nadien Sabe cosas del Destino❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
muito bom parabéns ❤😅.
Why Bob how can you do this to Richie?! You're drunk Bob Give me that bottle You're drunk Bob
To Ritchie? I did this to me ok!!!

Leave me alone~~~
Good actor I talented
It looks like the mother favored Ritchie and Bob felt unloved and jealous.
Zep called it,Boogie with Stu
Saudades ❤
San Fer! My alma mater!
I hated this part of the movie where the joyful occasion of music, singing, and dancing stopped abruptly and turned into a wreckless fight all because of Bob
Bob is the only real one there
@isaac heres, cry a river
❤RValens
Ritchie Valens una grande promessa del roc' n' roll morta disgraziatamente insieme a Buddy Holly in aereo

Guy has Galloping goose badge I watch movie back then first time I saw galloping goose on gangland series I didn’t know guy has that badge this movie 3:35
Did this fight happen in real life ?
Well there went the rent money!
Unfortunately
Ritchies Mom said they made 150 dollars at the start of the concert n said we gotta do this again. Pretty sure there rent was paid n then some
@@frankfrega1302
I believe Bob and his buddies damaged alot of the property inside the building. But you may have a point because the cost of living was "much cheaper" than it is today.
If it weren’t for Bob she and Richie still be living out on the fields
@CapricornGilbert
I doubt that!
The family knows how to bounce back from situations like that.
And Richie found a way to make it in the music business at such a young age.
Uma fera.
is this teacher Ms Flores on the zaxophone? Montebello intermidiate 1987?
Dude fire on bob ass
Reminds me of Selena’s bio movie
Sounds like Connie cares about Richie than Bob Maybe he will stop drinking if Connie starts paying attention to Bob also
What the hell is wrong with her!!! Why favor one son over the other? They’re both her children and she should love and cherish just the same!!! Sure bobs made some dumb decisions but let’s not forget Connie has a hand in it too. She lied to bob for fourteen years about who his real father was,had him sent away to a boy’s home and practically neglected him, especially when Ritchie got famous. Thank god bob pushed all that aside and became a better person tho!! Otherwise Connie would’ve more than likely lost 2 sons!!!
@@kelvinbremont1341because he was always a little a HOLE
What's the first song name?
What is the dance step the kids are dancing?
Pretty sure it’s The Stroll !!
The high school dance with not one person under 25 years old.
This was the VFW.
Does anyone knows the name of this first song
Ooh my head!- los lobos
The first song is called ooh my head. Its sung by the lead singer of Los lobos in this film but the original version is quite easy to find
❤
Ребята, он не танцевал брейк в kto или electric в начале 80-х?

People say he would of been bigger than Elvis
Well we’ll never know but Ik dude would have probably dropped some more classics.
@@thefinalsolution247 I'm sure because he signed his first record deal at 17
He would not have been bigger than Elvis. Elvis was a once in a lifetime phenominon. But Ritchie Valens would have been a huge star. He was a very talented pop song writer who appealed to hispanic and white kids. Ritchie would have been big, but not bigger than Elvis. Just some guy's opinion.
@@keithm9337 we'll never know but he did sign a record deal at an earlier age than Elvis
@@Westhelockpicker We know. Elvis as I said was a once in a lifetime phenominon. He had looks and charisma never seen before. Valens was a good songwriter but was too ethnic at that time to have been bigger than Elvis. He didn't have the looks. Valens probably would have eventually become a writer/producer.
Elvis didn't know how to sing as great as Ritchie, and he didn't know how to act either, but he had a very handsome face, and that's why Ritchie couldn't be as famous as Elvis. Unfortunately facial appearances is the main reason, people make it, in Hollywood.
In the movie labomba
Wasn’t a high school dance.
