    Great job ! If you can't fix your chair after watching this then go back to bed.

    Excellent instructions. I ran short of webbing by about 4 inches. If I knew I would have added slightly less than 4 inches to each strap. Otherwise easier than I thought. The tip to have the curved part of the clip point to the long part of the webbing was spot on and saved me a lot of guesswork. I restored two 40 year old lawn chairs. They are so much lighter and well made than the modern stuff.

    Great video! Fantastic detailed description. I have a couple of old chairs needing new webbing. They have all tacks that look a bit different than the ones on your chairs... the webbing is actually crimped in between two layers of the tack. The job looks way too frustrating, I may actually switch to screws... if I can get a big enough screw to fit into the slot without slipping. Until then, these old dogs are going back into the garage...!

    I have the 'Tack" clips and so glad you showed them. You did a great in explaining it all !! I have been so confused on how they go back but this has helped a lot only problem is my chair shows holes on the metal tubing on the back to front seat then across the back left to right there are slots holes in the metal tubing ..weird huh? but the slots seem to somehow hold the clips easier then the holes . I just gave it a try to see So this has been a real headache and I am about to throw this whole thing in the garbage . My hubby is a great repairman on most everything but he doesn't want to tackle this one he has a floor tile he has to lay and the chair has been sitting partly done since last year. :(

      Honestly, I am not sure if I will be working with tacks and clips again. It really was a pain. I recently did a chair that used screws and it was SO EASY. I like fixing things and getting use out of them, but i dont think the tack and clip chairs are worth it. That is very weird about your chair! Who knows what that is lol

      I also thank you for showing the tack clips. Our lawn chairs also have tack clips. So very glad I had this video. I have almost completely rewebbed one of our lawn chairs with tack clips. I have reinstalled a couple new webbing strips into the other one where I replaced two of the webbing strips last year, and also reinstalled the webbing strips I installed last year in the one I've almost fully rewebbed.

      Last year I saw some videos on rewebbing lawn chairs, but they only mentioned and showed clips and screws. They didn't mention or show tacks. So I installed a couple of the webbing strips on both of them last year but not correctly and so the "tacks" popped back out. Now those two on each of them, thanks to this video, I have installed correctly and gotten the tacks to click into position. So now I have one folding chair almost all rewebbed, another with the two strips I replaced now installed securely.

    This video was really helpful, thanks for posting it. However, I have a great old glider chair that I am trying to re web with clips. One side goes into the rectangular slot very easily but when I pull to stretch the webbing to the other side, the clip won't go into the hole. I tried using a screwdriver to open the hole a bit more but that didn't work. It either didn't go in or the webbing had to be very loose. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    You’re placing the clip into a hole? There’s no mention of that if there is a hole. So begin with what you have existing on the chair, how you’re going to anchor it and have a better close up placement into the hole. We’re not reading your mind like we know how to do it or how you’re doing it.

  • @alfredobulusan3916
    @alfredobulusan3916 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You’re showing the clip but not explaining how the clip/tack anchors and not come off. It takes just one but not a good demonstration. Sorry

    • @Got2no
      @Got2no 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The curved part of the clip points to the long part of the webbing. Then it just slips into the hole. Think of it like you stick your finger on a hole to pull a board. You would naturally curve your finger towards the way you are pulling.
