      You have no clue whether you'll be healthy or not the next day; you could get diagnosed with cancer or a rare incurable autoimmune condition tomorrow. Where I am healthcare costs $1,100 a month if you hit your max out of pocket and deductible, which is easy to do if you're chronically ill and need to see doctors frequently. You get no financial help if you make $50k or more, so you could easily be spending 35% of your income after taxes on healthcare, so combined with taxes it would actually come out to about 70% of your income.

      @akihitochan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      What a ridiculous anecdote. "overseas", wow. Why not mention the country? America has the most MRI machines per capita and it also has the most wasteful use of MRIs. MRIs are a fantastic example of why a for-profit motive can damage our medical care. "America performs far more CT and MRI scans than other countries. There's 'virtually no evidence' that's helpful, researchers say. The researchers-Ohad Oren of the Mayo Clinic, Electron Kebebew of the Stanford University School of Medicine, and John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University-write that unnecessary and wasted diagnostic imaging is a "substantial problem" in the United States. According to the Washington Post, diagnostic imaging in the United States has evolved into a multibillion dollar industry."

      Oh, and the bread line comment that Ben Shapiro constantly plays out of context is an even weaker point. He was pointing out, *correctly,* during the time period he said it, that people starve to death in various countries and there is no bread line. There's just a corrupt government and a starving populace. Communist and socialist governments would pop up in Africa, Asia and South America and provide *food to people who had none* and it made them incredibly popular with the poor.

    Well, social market economy is not equal to socialism - and it works for the whole of Europe, so it is not at all delusional. Calling it socialism, which doesn’t work, is just right-wing-propaganda. Quick example: East-Germany, when it was the DDR, had socialism and it didn‘t work at all, it was awful and destined to fail. In Germany right now (and West-Germany back in the days), there is a SOCIAL MARKET ECONOMY, which is even more, than Bernie Sanders wants, and it works fantastic. Germany has one of Europe‘s strongest economics and smallest amout of debt

That happens already in the UK with their National Health Service; people wait a LOT longer for stuff we have quick access to here in the states, and some types of procedures are denied based on factors other than sickness (like, cost, for instance).
