Thank you, your explanation of the tabs on the fan helped me to get my fan out of my 4.8 X5, during the replacement of the valley van.

My fan is coming on at all (after I changed my battery). Is there a fuse or relay that could have blown not allowing to fan to come on anymore?

Dorsea Palmer Changing the battery always seems to stir something up. Try spinning the fan by hand and make sure it doesn’t lock up, if so you may need a new fan. My guess is a relay issue, fuses seems like a go to but in my experience it’s never that simple unfortunately. Wish I could be more help. Best of luck

Matt Ratola would you happen to know where the relay is? I had to change my fuel pump relay after I changed my battery (I was getting a crank no start). So I'm guessing it may be the fan relay also, just don't know where it is

Dorsea Palmer I’m not 100 percent sure. I know there are a few in the passenger foot area. Remove three screws from the trim, drop or remove the trim and look for a green screw and loosen it and the fuse box with relays will drop down. I had this issue on an m3 i had, bought a new fan and it solved the issue. Best of luck to you.
