Thinking about picking one up but I saw it was recommended to rinse and use a soft sponge after each use since its not glazed. I usually just give my cermaic/glass pour overs a quick rinse with hot water after each use. Is just rinsing the sagan with hot water sufficient?

Hmm not too sure about this. My understanding was that you could just rinse it like a normal dripper, but seeing as it is porous it makes sense that there is more car involved.
Best to try and get in touch with Kalita themselves as we don’t actually stock these drippers currently.
Sorry I can’t be off any more help

does the sandstone make different coffee than the steel?

      Hey thanks for watching!
There isn't too big of a difference taste wise, more so Aesthetics.
The only real difference that may make a difference in the cup would be the temperature when brewing, to counter this simply pre-heat your dripper with hot water when you are pre-rinsing your coffee filter and then you are set to go.
      Happy brewing!

@@TheBasicBarista I have never done pour over. Dont you rise youre filter while it's in the dripper? so that would be preheating the dripper and rinsing the filter in one pour?

      @@SureFeelsGood yes that is correct!
You can do both in the one pour :)
