Oooooohhh yeah haha. I'd stay away from custom fairings from Motoxpricampi.com. And mainly just make sure you have the correct parts, I wasted some money buying parts that didn't exactly fit my bike and then had to buy more parts to make them fit. Just do your research on parts before buying lol
Just wondering why did you go with the IRC QS/AB instead of the widely used Translogic? and is it and 06-07 why would you upgrade to a slipper clutch? Great build, I've heard braketech got better overall build quality than the brembo Ts but more expensive also might want to finish it with the davinci gauge
In all honesty dude, I wish I would have gone with the translogic. I had the translogic on my 2015 r1 and it was amazing and slightly better.... and cheaper. It's a 2016. Upgrading the slipper clutch would just help a little with more rear wheel control/sliding when downshifting into corners. I can agree with he gauge for sure. I'll look into the brake tech rotors. Thanks!
i love how you basically gave me the total of my own race bike. Hahaha. besides one or two parts, our bikes are very similar. I cringed when i saw the total. 😢
The term race bike is very wide and unspecific for example a stock r6 with race plastics and essential mods like pads fluid tires and safety wiring can be done relatively cheaply for less then 2k and you could take it racing in super stock or beginner racing events now a proper sbk spec super sport could run 20-30k in mods Alone with all the trick engine internals and drivetrain ohlins suspension full titanium hardware carbon fairings forge wheels and top of the line braking system data logger dash and custom ecu maping.
I totally agree dude. In all honesty it comes down to your budget and what you have, or are willing to spend. You can literally buy a bike and throw some race fairings and safety wire on it and be good to go rip haha
Sweet racebike you built. 👊 What did you not like about the MotoCambi fairings? I was looking at getting those or the Sharkskinz. I like that the MotoCambi since it already comes painted and they have a motogp style fairings for my bike.
The quality of the fairings is decent. But how much they cost for what you get is not worth it at all. Idk, if you buy a fairing kit from them for $1300 I can kinda see being worth it. But I paid $1800....... lol
Respect man! Great work on the spec! Thats really expencive! Still you can ad some brembo calipers 1000$ it whould bring the total cost 23 400$ for a 2012 yamaha R6 race superbike!
@@MICLGz the R6 in stock form will be great for a beginner rider at the track.. As you get better you will have to upgrade brake lines, highly recommended the quick shift & auto-blipper, and gear indicator…. That will take you a long way, then if you get very serious you can worry about rear shock and track tires…. If you get good enough for that to matter you’ll know exactly what you need…. Exhaust is much less important than everything else. Track seat is good and cheap too….
A lot of people want to race and go fast but not realize the cost.all these bolt ons and imagine if you had built the engine.add on another $8k-10k to that ✅
Better to just buy someone else’s already built bike especially at the end of the race season. Plus, 90% of those race parts can be removed and sold off to recoup money. Just make sure to save the stock parts.
I do agree on this depending on your situation, what you have to spend, and what you want. I wanted to build my own bike my way, with the understanding that I would be the first person to have raced the bike. I did consider buying a used race bike. But I didn't wanna run the risk of buying an abused race bike for it to only break down on me after a race weekend. Not worth the risk, when I have the money to buy a bike and build it myself, knowing it will last me years to come, with how I take care of my stuff.
haha 600's are just better in all honesty. I've owned a 15 r1, and loads of other 1000's. And the R6 is the most fun, and comfortable bike I have ever owned for the track. And a LOT cheaper on tires.
@dillwinn I back this I owned a 07 r1 now running a 600rr and just looking to find the right deal on an r6 as the track bike. r1 is mental but to much bike for mean almost anyone to use 100% on the track and in traffic and streets you can ride in one gear it gets boring and when you open up and click a gear or two you're doing 4x the speed limit
This is insane. When you race a bike you crash. Buying more reasonable parts is not cheaping out. Racing with a yellow plate, most of the upgrades you did are anesthetic. Crazy waste of money.
Honestly, I agree with you somewhat. Just about all *aesthetic* upgrades for a race bike are mostly pointless. But In my opinion you get what you pay for. If your gonna buy cheap ass Alibaba parts, chances are that parts gonna break on you or give you a hard time compared to paying good money for a reputable part that'll last you years and years to come. It was my first race bike build and I wanted to build it how I wanted it, because I have the money to enjoy putting *aesthetic* pieces on my bike unlike some people... Been racing for the last 2 years on the bike, done about 30+ track days, placed first in 24 out of the 28 races, and have yet to crash.... I would say the money I've put into the bike has very so much had its pay off in my opinion.. But hey!... everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
1st in 24 of 28 races… with no crashes? Sounds like you’re pretty damn good. I have a ZX6R and this will be my 2nd season on the track… and my 2nd season in total with a sport bike. I’m guessing if I add up all my upgrades I’m probably about $3k - $4k into it. Your fairings were wicked expensive tho! I did Hotbodies for less than $500. Not as nice as yours, but I’ve been down twice already and #3 is almost inevitable. Cool bike, my dude! Ride fast and take chances!!
Yowza! But I bet it's fast AF and handles like a dream. This was helpful, thanks man.
awesome bike. Gave me some Good ideas on what to do to a R6 Race 2023. very helpful
Thank you! Thats really cool of you to say!
Such a sick build! Anything you regret spending the money on/things to stay away from?

This is GORGEOUS!!
Cool! where do you get that tank foam from?
I got it from wrs.it
i love how you basically gave me the total of my own race bike. Hahaha. besides one or two parts, our bikes are very similar. I cringed when i saw the total. 😢
I'm building my R6 right now for track and some parts are so stupidly expensive... 3:00 $220 for two buttons is ridiculous...
Bet you still got them just like me😂
Why not go with a rotary dampner?
How much for the bodywork?
nice video and nice bike! which Zero Gravity wind screen is that?
I believe its the corsa

So the new r6 track only is good value?
What tire changer do you have?
DerekWeaver Tyre Changer
Totally random, but how tall are you? I’m trying to find a good spot for my rearsets lol
haha I'm 5'11"

@@jonasrueda4195 They can be worth it, I just highly advise to not do a custom paint job with them and stick with what they have availbe
Cheers for the great video.
Waiting for new fairings for my SV, it's always fun getting new parts. 😀🍻🏆
Thank you man!@@jcwhiskers3415
Now get the head port and polished make it higher compression and tuned thing would be a fucking demon lol
This R6 is too beautiful!
Thank you man! 😊
1800 for fairings???
yup lol...... learn from me and don't make the same mistake. You're better off buying your own fairings painting them yourself. trust me.....
Nice bike although, should’ve spent the bling money on suspension and lessons. Bling doesn’t make you fast on track.
@@Chickenstrips77 I totally agree, it’s a lesson learned.
@@dillwinn your not cool with a ratty looking bike until you wax someone on the inside like they were standing still 😎
Can you feel any difference with the top triple clamp?
truthfully no, I think its more of just an aesthetic mod to help get rid of the key ignition and clean up the area.

I can build a race ready r6 for far less. A lot of $$$ wasted for unnecessary items!
Would you mind doing a video so we can get some tips on what expenses to avoid?

Nice custom bro
1800 is too much IMO .... even armor bodies with a custom paint job is around 1300. but with that being said thats a sick bike....

For real! It can be an expensive hobby
Needs a rain light 😊

What about some magnesium wheels for full package?)
I have looked! But my god they’re expensive. Maybe one day!
